Abstract: A device, for disobstructing ateriosclerotic lesions in proximity to the origin of lateral branches or bifurcations of an artery. The device includes a stent having two sections. One section is adhered along approximately two thirds of its total length to a balloon. The other section corresponds to the final third of the length of the stent does not completely adhere to the balloon and is partially expanded before its use. A proximal end of a metallic guide wire passes through the mesh of the partially expanded section which has been previously introduced into a secondary branch or bifurcation in the artery. The wire provides an access to the secondary branch for introducing a second balloon or a second stent for the disobstruction of the secondary branch or bifurcation.

Abstract: In a network management system performing a fault management process in a hierarchical network, an upper layer fault manager performs a fault management of an upper layer of a hierarchical network, a lower layer fault manager performs a fault management of a lower layer of the network, an inter-layer node connecting information storage portion manages connecting information between packet switching nodes composing the upper layer and link offering nodes composing the lower layer, and an inter-layer fault notifying portion notifies the upper layer fault manager, upon receiving a notification of a link fault which has occurred on a link between the link offering nodes from the lower layer fault manager, that the packet switching nodes affected by the fault are faulted, based on the connecting information.

In a network having one routing apparatus to which one or more communication devices are connected, and another routing apparatus to which one or more communication devices are connected, a network routing system reserves a network resource using a service quality set-up protocol with bit sequence between these two routing apparatuses.
Abstract: A service providing apparatus includes personal data specifying means for specifying personal data of a user of a mobile terminal based on user identification (ID) information received from the mobile terminal via a first line and terminal ID information received from the mobile terminal via a second line, and service executing means for executing a desired service for the user based on the personal data specified by the personal data specifying means. As a result, the user of a receiver for WEB service using the mobile terminal, such as a mobile telephone, is correctly specified (verified) in security by the service providing apparatus (e.g., a call center) without using a dedicated encoding technique, such as SSL (Secure Socket Layer).
Abstract: There are disclosed methods and systems for the process of on-press plate imaging, including automatic processes for plate preparation, that compensate for registration and print-length errors (plate loading is performed before imaging). As a result of these processes, the position accuracy is determined by the imaging system. The system of the present invention creates deformed images on the plates during the imaging stage, these deformed images, being such that the separations will be in register (coordinated) after printing.

Also, in case of a frame synchronization, a power value of a received signal is calculated on a reception side of the above-mentioned transparent transmission line and the synchronizing signal is vectorized using the power values whose phases are different from each other by 90 degrees on a time axis.
Abstract: A semiconductor booster circuit is disclosed that boosts a power-supply voltage to approximately twice the original voltage. When a reference clock signal is at the ground voltage, an inverted clock signal becomes the power-supply voltage, and the power-supply voltage is conducted from the power supply input terminal by way of a third FET transistor and stored in a first capacitor, and the stored voltage of a second capacitor is delivered from an external output terminal by way of a second FET transistor. Conversely, when the reference clock signal is at the power-supply voltage, the power-supply voltage is conducted from the power supply input terminal by way of a fourth FET transistor and stored in the second capacitor, and the stored voltage of the first capacitor is delivered from the external output terminal by way of the first FET transistor.
Abstract: Streams of data including explicit synchronization patterns (such as entire T1/E1) are transmitted utilizing an unstructured data format, while streams not containing explicit synchronization patterns (such as fractional T1/E1) are sent utilizing a structured data format, i.e., the data structure itself provides for circuit alignment at the receiving end. In addition, SDH VC-12 frames are transmitted over the IP network by encapsulating the entire frame (payload and overhead) into an RTP packet. Furthermore, the clock is reconstructed (clock recovery) from the packet stream at the receiver's side.

Abstract: A data control device capable of high-quality, high-efficiency control for speeding up data processing, thus permitting improvement of the throughput of a system. Attribute analyzing unit analyzes an attribute of data, and a main memory stores setting information of the data in a region corresponding to the attribute. A highway cache memory stores the data, and also receives and transmits the data on a highway. A processor performs an operation on the data in accordance with the setting information. A data cache memory is interposed between the processor and the main memory and stores the setting information.
Abstract: An optical transmission technique for a ring transmission system that can transmit time-division-multiplexed optical signals in dual directions. An optical transmitting apparatus comprises a data link reading section, a topology creating section, a data link writing section, a squelch table creating section, a squelch table, an RIP table creating section, an RIP table, a node recognizing section, an east-side receiving unit, an east-side transmitting unit, a west-side transmitting unit, and a west-side receiving unit. When a transmission route is switched at plural positions, the squelch table and the RIP table are automatically created as soon as a crossconnect is set. With minimum setting, the ring transmission system can be normally operated without increasing the number of setting items, the squelch table can be created at a high speed using existing hardware, and an alarm can be automatically transmitted from a secondary node until each table is created.
Abstract: An IP communication network system has a plurality of autonomous systems, configuring IP networks of domains independent of each other, for performing interior- and exterior-forwarding of IP packets. The plurality of autonomous systems include a plurality of border relay devices positioned at borders between the IP networks. Each of the plurality of border relay devices includes a discarding unit for discarding, if the IP packet forwarded is an unauthorized intrusion packet, this unauthorized packet when detecting a re-intrusion on the basis of filtering information for detecting the re-intrusion of the unauthorized packet, and a distribution unit for distributing the filtering information to all other border relay devices within the same autonomous system.
Abstract: In a label switching router placed at one end of an LSP set by using CRLDP, a bidirectional LSP setup TLV preparing portion prepares a bidirectional LSP setup TLV included in a bidirectional setup label request message transmitted in an up direction to a label switching router placed at the other end of the LSP. Based on an external bidirectional LSP setup request accepted by a bidirectional LSP setup accepting portion, a bidirectional LSP setup TLV analyzer analyzes the bidirectional LSP setup TLV in the message. When the message is received from the label switching router at the other end, a bidirectional LSP processor performs an LSP setup request in a down direction as opposed to the up direction. Based on the analyzed result by the bidirectional LSP setup TLV analyzer, and an explicit route preparing portion prepares an explicit route on which a router to be relayed in the down direction is prescribed.
Abstract: An airboat and selectable drive system for an airboat are described. The airboat may be configured for mounting an engine either high or low in the hull of an airboat. The selectable drive system is connected to the engine. The selectable drive system includes a transmission interconnected to an air propeller drive. A clutch has three positions to include forward, neutral, and reverse. The air propeller drive rotates the air propeller in one of two directions based upon the selected position of the clutch. The drive system has the capability to rotate air propellers at different speeds. The reverse speed of rotation of the air propellers may be higher or lower than the forward speed of rotation. The modular design and simplified drive system is easier to assemble and align for both configurations.
Abstract: A media convert service providing method is capable of registering specified pieces of information according to receiving media convert categories and receiving terminal categories in an information communication processing system on a communication network by utilizing a free usable field or a blank field in a frame based on a specified communication protocol. This makes it feasible to configure a system by extending a conventional media convert type information communication system and to provide terminal users (senders and receivers) with media convert services with a much higher usability.
Abstract: A packet scheduling apparatus made it possible to always hold priority orders determined in advance for preferentially controlled priority queues while guaranteeing reserved bandwidths for bandwidth guaranteed queues. This packet scheduling apparatus is configured by a service time computing unit for computing service times for bandwidth guaranteed queues and priority queues having high priority orders based on input plurality of predetermined parameters, a service time comparing unit for comparing magnitudes of the computed service times with each other and selecting the packet to be output first, and a parameter generating unit for generating the parameters computed so as to achieve both a bandwidth guarantee and preferential control.
Abstract: A injection-molding process injects a semi-solid slurry with a solids content ranging from approximately 60% to 85% into a mold at a velocity sufficient to completely fill the mold. The slurry is injected under laminar or turbulent flow conditions and produces a molded article that has a low internal porosity.
Abstract: Apparatus for and methods of receiving a transmission signal, suitable for use in a cellular mobile communications system, are disclosed. The apparatus comprises a beam former (50) for receiving signals from a plurality of antenna elements, which received signals represent the transmission signal, and for modifying the received signals in accordance with a receiver beam pattern defined by control information input to the beam former (50). The apparatus also comprises estimating means (54) for producing an estimate of desired control information by combining predetermined data in the received signals with a replica of the predetermined data. The estimate of desired control information may be used to set the control information input to the beam former (50).
