  • Patent number: 7776443
Abstract: The invention herein provides for an improved dye composition for encapsulation in casing structures adapted for projectile motion and rupture upon contact with a target surface, such as paint balls. The dye composition adapted for use in an impact-rupturable capsule of the invention comprises a water soluble dye and a lipophilic carrier having an oil and a nonionic surfactant, said surfactant comprising greater than 97% Poly[oxy-1,2-ethanediyl], alpha-[4-nonylphenyl]-omega-hydroxy-, branched and less than 3% polyethylene glycol and less than 2% dinonylphenyl polyoxyethylene by weight. The invention further provides for an impact-rupturable capsule containing the dye composition.

  • Patent number: 7765863
Abstract: A wind gauge includes particles dispensed from their container as a floating cloud which is carried along by ambient wind and thus illustrates wind speed and direction. The particulate media may also include a mixture of phosphorescent and chalk particles, so that the floating cloud is illuminable and thus more easily visible especially during low-light and nocturnal conditions. The particles may also embody a scent and be used to form a scent trail as they are carried along by the wind and as they gradually settle out of the air. The container includes an internal light source for discreetly phosphorescing the particles while inside the container. The container may also be compressible with a restricted exit that forcefully ejects particles therefrom.

  • Patent number: 7748372
Abstract: This invention is related to an adaptable tile-cutter apparatus for scoring and breaking disparately-sized tiles. The apparatus broadly includes: a pair of end castings removably; a rigid crossbeam and a travel rail spanning the pair of end castings; vertical-adjustment mechanisms mounted to the travel rail; one or more platform assemblies each coupled to the rigid crossbeam; and a cutting mechanism slidably engaged to the travel rail. The vertical-adjustment mechanisms individually adjust a height of the travel rail with respect to the pair of end castings. In addition, the rigid crossbeam and the travel rail comprise a first matched set, and are each removably coupled to the pair of end castings. Accordingly, a second matched set that includes another rigid crossbeam and another travel rail possessing lengths at variance with the rigid crossbeam and the travel rail of the first matched set may be interchanged therewith.

  • Patent number: 7744707
Abstract: A deep cryogenic tempering process for brake components such as rotors and drums is provided, wherein the unique processing profile is dependent on properties of the specific brake components. The process comprises the steps of placing a brake component at a temperature within a cryogenic processing chamber, cooling the brake component at a descent rate until the brake component temperature is approximately ?300° F., maintaining the brake component temperature at ?300° F. for a stay time, raising the temperature of the brake component to approximately ?300° F. at an ascent rate, maintaining the temperature of the brake component at 300° F. for a post temper time, and lowering the temperature of the brake component to room temperature at a cool down rate.

  • Patent number: 7735479
Abstract: A paintball marker for launching a paintball using a bolt with an internal impact ring for contacting a power tube sized to fit within the bolt. The power tube has an internal gas passage for supplying launching gas to the paintball and an external striking surface that is contacted by the bolt's impact ring. A main seal is positioned selectively seal the internal passage of the power tube from a gas supply. Movement of the bolt causes the impact ring to contact the striking surface to unseat the power tube from the main seal to release gas from the main gas chamber through the internal passage into the breach to launch the paintball.

  • Patent number: 7708292
Abstract: In a riding mower having a frame, a mower deck supported beneath the frame, a chair on said frame and a source of motive power also supported on said frame. The frame is supported on forward and rear wheel assemblies, and the wheel assemblies each have a supporting wheel, each wheel assembly having a vibration damping system interposed between the frame and each wheel assembly. The vibration damping system comprising at least one pillow interposed between the frame and each wheel assembly and each pillow being of a resilient material for absorbing shock and vibration resulting from a wheel contacting irregularities in the terrain traversed thereby.

  • Patent number: 6596176
Abstract: A process for the purification of water includes the addition of hydrogen peroxide and metallic coagulants in order to remove organic contaminants. Metallic coagulants increase the oxidative activity of hydrogen peroxide, while also causing the oxidized by-products to coagulate. The method is suitable for use in existing water treatment facilities. Optionally, an anionic polymer may also be added to enhance coagulation of the oxidized contaminants.

  • Patent number: 6560817
Abstract: An apparatus for cleaning floors which recycles waste heat and water to provide greater efficiency. An internal combustion engine is used to power the apparatus. Heat from the engine's lubricant is used to heat the wash solution applied to the floor. Heat from the engine's cooling air, radiator, and catalytic converter is used to dry the cleaned floor. A drying brush is also used to accelerate drying. Used rinse water is recycled for use as wash solution. Exhaust from the engine is used to preheat the floor to be cleaned. The engine may be used to propel the apparatus.
