  • Patent number: 5639047
Abstract: An apparatus for providing a light signal to a signal unit at an overhead location along a railway signal structure, particularly a cantilever signal structure having a vertical mast and an arm assembly extending therefrom. Signal units may be located along the mast and/or the arm assembly. A light source is provided at or near ground level so as to be readily accessible by a maintainer and is connected by fiber optic cable to the signal units. Thus, light produced by the light source travels through the optical fiber to the signal units.

  • Patent number: 5637936
Abstract: An electromagnetically powered engine apparatus and method converts pulsed alternating electrical and electromagnetic energy into mechanical energy which drives an output drive shaft. The engine apparatus produces usable mechanical power by pumping action made possible by dual opposing magnetic pistons disposed within a single cylinder on opposing sides of core member end of an electromagnet, which core member end is centrally situated within the cylinder. The dual opposing magnetic pistons are mechanically coupled to dual axles in a manner to rotate the dual axles each in a first direction. A drive chain interconnected with the dual axles and the output drive shaft effects rotation of the output drive shaft in the same first direction that the dual axles are rotated.

  • Patent number: 5595262
Abstract: An electrically pumped oiler attachable to the frame of a conventional motorcycle is provided for discharging oil to a motorcycle drive chain, particularly while the motorcycle is in motion. The oiler has a conventional electrically operable pump mounted to or otherwise associated, preferably as a built-in inclusive unit, with a reservoir used for storage of oil. The pump is powered by the motorcycle battery or other power source, and is activated by an electrical switch, preferably mounted to one side of the handlebars of the motorcycle. The pump urges oil from the reservoir through a conduit for discharge of the oil, preferably as a widened spray or mist, toward the motorcycle drive chain, particularly at the point where the drive chain meets the drive sprocket on the rear axle of the motorcycle. The reservoir is easily refillable through a refill port by removing a sealing cap.

  • Patent number: 5531515
Abstract: An auxiliary brake system for a four-wheel-drive vehicle is disclosed whose main components of the present invention are four solenoid valves. These valves are located under the body of the vehicle, and are affixed in communication with the existing vehicle hydraulic brake system. Electrical wiring unites this system to two corresponding control buttons located within access to the driver. One control button functions to block the pressure for the left side of the vehicle; the other control button functions to block the pressure for the right side of the vehicle. The valves that control the front wheels of the vehicle may be mounted on the master cylinder, while the valves for the rear wheels may be in one body which would replace a `tee` fitting on the rear axle.

  • Patent number: 5509764
Abstract: A cargo securing system is provided wherein the system comprises a crossbar member attached to a beam member with ends adapted to concurrently cooperate in a slidable manner with opposing channels defined by a pair of U-shaped channel tracks. The channel tracks are mounted to the bed walls of a pick-up truck. The system is constructed of heavy duty metal to secure cargo in the bed of the truck between the crossbar member and the bed walls of the truck. The system is easily adjustable by one person with retractable locking pins, and provides padded support to protect against damage to secured cargo.

  • Patent number: 5482239
Abstract: An attachment device is provided wherein the device is designed to connect intravenous container support apparatus to various medical transport and patient care devices such as wheelchairs, hospital-style beds, transport carts for emergency room and outpatient use, and ambulance cots. This attachment device ensures that the intravenous container support apparatus that is hooked to a patient in the medical transport apparatus is not pulled away from the patient, thereby preventing dislodged intravenous lines that may otherwise result in dangerous conditions for the patient. The present invention is constructed of materials that meet or exceed health regulations, such as a lightweight metal alloy. The present invention is adjustable to accommodate various transportation apparatus, and the present invention includes clamping means which permits quick and efficient attachment to and detachment from the transportation apparatus.
