  • Patent number: 5594978
Abstract: A fabric expander apparatus for tubular fabrics includes at least two first internal wheel and belt assembly groups kept in position inside and on the sides of the fabric tube by second external corresponding wheel and belt assembly groups. Each first internal wheel and belt assembly group includes a plate which has a wheel conducted by counter-wheels of the second external group and driven wheels. All these wheels from the first internal wheel and belt assembly group have a part of the perimeter exposed outside the plate and in a direction of the second external group, to receive a conveyor belt, which moves in a desired direction to transport the fabric tube. Motor wheels of the second external group are pressed against the conveyor belt and against the wheels of the first internal wheel and belt assembly group to compress the fabric and to contribute to transport it in the desired direction.

  • Patent number: 5591271
Abstract: A process cleans inductor channels of furnaces melting non-ferrous metal alloys wherein the coating alloy has a minimum of zinc content of 50% by weight which is subject to softening, dilution and floating of DROSS heavy slag which obstructs the inductor channels. The slag is removed by mechanical action of hammer-shock powered lances with slicing fins presented at a contact end of the lances. Cleaning of the slag is aided by a nitrogen gas stream acting within inductor channels.

  • Patent number: 5590764
Abstract: A package dispenser for garments, such as latex surgical gloves is provided with an inner glove shape, which constricts the palms of a plurality of expandable, elastic gloves placed within each other, and forces the fingers of the gloves to expand and conform to a proper expanded position for insertion therein of the hand of a user into the innermost exposed glove of the plurality of gloves. The package sequentially dispenses one or more elastic expandable gloves, such as latex gloves. When a vacuum is drawn, the gloves are maintained in an open, expanded state, wherein the user loosely inserts a hand into the innermost glove of the plurality of gloves, breaks an air seal by pulling a tab, thus allowing air to leak in around the innermost glove, so that the glove snaps over the hand of the user in a tight fitting manner.

  • Patent number: 5583326
Abstract: Pneumatic vacuum lift elevator, in which the vertical shaft is a tube with smooth interior surface, preferably cylindrical, with straight axle, and the transport cab or vehicle moving inside such tube is a piston with vertical movement, with minimum play inside the tube, equipped with air suction devices at the upper end of the tube, capable of causing a sufficient pressure differential to displace such piston in controlled ascending and descending movement; completed with an air entry or intake in the lower end of the tube, and the access doors with which the tube is equipped, and which are hermetically closed on the various stopping levels.

  • Patent number: 5562328
Abstract: A novelty dispenser for solid objects, such as condoms. The novel features are specifically based on a spring loaded movement of a dispensing element, which element moves an object such as a packaged condom from inside a compartment out through an opening. The dispenser is an everyday entertainment device that conceals a condom therein. It uses a spring, such as a coil spring, which feeds the condom from a magazine compartment and through a shutter to be released for use. The spring is returned to its original position once it has been used. Pulling a tab of the dispenser causes the spring to release within the magazine, forcing the condom through the shutter, such as miniature doors. The spring opens the magazine and doors, allowing the spring to advance the condom into the dispensed position for delivery to the user.

  • Patent number: 5551133
Abstract: A device to correct the longitudinal torsion in a tubular fabric includes a plurality of conveyor belts placed on two opposite sides of a balloon shaped by air pressure in a vertical segment of a fabric tube, each one composed of several rotatable rules which press the balloon up with its movement to pull it in the direction of a plurality of squeezer rubber cylinders which are in a transversal sliding direction in friction contact with the fabric to eliminate the longitudinal torsion from it.

  • Patent number: 5547714
Abstract: A process forms an amorphous carbon film over a solid, which film has physical and chemical properties similar to those of diamond. Its ancillary objects are the solid bodies so coated and the self-sustained film obtained in a subsequent stage of dissolution of said substrate. The process includes generating a highly accelerated beam of carbon-hydrogenated ions, which beam is made to impact with sufficiently high energy on the surface of the substrate. The beam is concentrated by electrostatic lenses and homogenized by a magnetic mass separator. The process forms on a solid substrate, a film with properties similar to those of diamond, such as high hardness, high chemical stability, transparency, high heat conductivity and high electric resistivity; obtainable at ambient temperature, and which is simpler than known procedures.

  • Patent number: 5523518
Abstract: Sulfuric acid used in the process of fabricating semiconductor devices, etc., can be recycled to reduce the amount of sulfuric acid to be discarded. A sulfuric acid effluent is fed to an anode chamber of a sulfuric acid-concentrating electrolyzer partitioned by at least one cation exchange membrane to concentrate sulfuric acid and generate oxidizing substances, so that the sulfuric acid can be used at the step of using sulfuric acid, and, when the concentration of impurities built up in the system exceeds a certain level, a part of sulfuric acid in the system is fed to a unit for refining sulfuric acid, where the sulfuric acid is refined and whence the refined sulfuric acid is fed back to the system. According to this recycling process, it is possible to obtain sulfuric acid having high oxidizing power with no addition of an oxidizing substance such as hydrogen peroxide thereto.

  • Patent number: 5519286
Abstract: An electronic ballast is provided with a built-in timed electric power saver and with photoelectric switching for high-pressure mercury vapor, metallic vapor and sodium vapor lamps. The electronic ballast with the built-in timed saver and photoelectric switching for high-pressure mercury vapor, metallic vapor and sodium lamps includes an electronic circuit having as a principle the obtaining of an increase in the frequency of the electric power distribution network. This increase is accomplished by means of a switching that results in a current limiting electronic device, which also is able to incorporate a timed electric power saver, the utilization of a single equipment for various lamp lower ratings, a photo-sensitive element for control of the lamp switching in accordance with the lighting level of the installation site and an ignitor for lamps requiring a voltage higher than the rated one.
