Abstract: The present invention relates to metal coated nano-fibers obtained by a process that includes electrospinning and to the use of said metal coated nano-fibers. The process is characterized in that a polymer nano-fiber with functional groups providing the binding ability to a reducing reagent is prepared by electrospinning at ambient conditions. Then this is contacted with a reducing agent, thereby opening the epoxy ring on the surface of polymer nano-fiber and replacing with the reducing agent and the reducing agent modified film is reacted with metal solution in alkaline media. Finally the electrospun mat is treated with water to open the epoxy rings in the structure and crosslinking the chains to provide integrity.

Abstract: Present invention relates to an improved process for the preparation of Zopiclone and its enantiomerically enriched isomer (Eszopiclone). 6-(5-Chloropyridin-2-yl)-5-hydroxy-7-oxo-5,6-dihydropyrrolo[3,4-b]pyrazine is reacted with 1-chloro-carbonyl-4-methylpiperazine in the presence of alkali earth metal carbonates, hydroxides or oxides in a solvent medium to give Zopiclone. It is reacted with optically active acid in a mixture of water and water miscible organic solvent followed by work up to give Eszopiclone. The present invention also relates to process for the conversion of (R) or (S) Zopiclone to 6-(5-chloropyrid-2-yl)-5-hydroxy-7-oxo-5,6-dihydro-pyrrolo-[3,4-b]-pyrazine of the intermediate which can be converted to racemic Zopiclone.
Abstract: The present invention provides a non-toxic yellow inorganic pigment consist of samarium and molybdenum oxides which may be used as additives to plastics, glasses, ceramics and paints. The samarium molybdenum yellow pigment preferably comprise Sm6MoO12 having a cubic crystal structure. Inorganic pigments according to the invention are formed by mixing stoichiometric amounts of (NH4)6Mo7O24.4H2O and Sm2O3; ball milled and calcined 1500-1650 C for 10-12 h in air atmosphere. The well ground calcined powders were used for characterization of the pigments. The phase purity and optical properties of the prepared pigments were investigated. A further aspect of the present invention is to provide of colouring a substrate. The method includes the steps of providing a substrate, and adding a samarium molybdate yellow pigment to the substrate. Abstract: The present invention provides a process for joining oxide-superconducting tubes with a superconducting joint. The process involves the preparation of a partially preformed superconducting material, followed by cold isopressing of the powder of partially performed superconducting material into tube shape and further provided with grooves at both ends of the tubes with a subsequent deposition of a silver layer. The process further involves the lapping of one of the end faces of a pair of said tubes to be joined. These lapped end faces of both the tubes clubbed together on a common silver bush are coated with a paste of the same partially preformed superconducting material in organic formulation. Then these coated end faces are closed pressed together to form a joint. This joint portion and the end portions of the tubes are wrapped with a perforated silver foil followed by deposition of another layer of silver.
