  • Patent number: 8177232
Abstract: An alternate ticket exit is provided in the event of a blockage of the primary ticket exit of a printer. Printed tickets are fed from a stacking nip into a ticket bin via a first ticket exit. A second ticket exit is provided which leads away from the ticket bin. Tickets are diverted into the second ticket exit in the event the ticket bin has reached capacity or the first ticket exit is blocked. By diverting tickets out of the second exit when the ticket bin has reached capacity or when the first ticket exit is blocked, the tickets are allowed to exit the printer and paper jams are prevented.

  • Patent number: 8165182
Abstract: In order to improve a solid-state laser, in particular a solid-state disc laser, comprising a resonator (40) that defines a resonator radiation field (30) and at least one solid-state disc (12) with the resonator radiation field (30) passing through it, in such a manner that the thermal lens effect can be at least substantially compensated, it is proposed that in reflection the resonator radiation field (30) strikes at least one first adaptive mirror unit (50, 70), with which a distortion of the resonator radiation field (30) as a result of a thermal lens effect of the at least one solid-state disc (12) can be substantially compensated. An adaptive mirror unit (50) can be configured by a heated (58a, 58b) glass sheet (54) with an HR layer (52), for example, or by a pressure-induced deformation by means a fluid (78) in a space (76), which is enclosed with the mirror (72, 74).

  • Patent number: 8161519
Abstract: An advanced multiplexer designed and optimized for next generation on-demand video distribution is described. Features and capabilities include low-latency client interactions, quality of service management, session based encryption management, support for multiple video formats, and support for multiple video decoding standards. Indicators are embedded in new video segments to identify start-of-segment transition points, enabling rapid transitions from one video segment to another. Low-latency operation is achieved by rapid switching, and by coordinating flushing of video buffers and buffer restoration.

  • Patent number: 8153932
Abstract: A method and device for controlling a power source of a welding, cutting or plasma coating system is provided. The power source comprises a measuring part and a controllable clocked power part. A value correlating with a characteristic variable of the power part to be controlled is continuously measured by means of the measuring part, to obtain an electrical measured variable. The electrical measured variable is at least approximately integrated starting from a prescribed initial value over a prescribed integration time, the duration of which corresponds to one or more clock periods of the clocked power part. A measure value is continuously determined from the integration value and used to control the power part.
