  • Patent number: 5803939
Abstract: A cartridge filter element for installation in a plenum of a filtration housing that receives a dirty air flow and cleans that flow by flow passage through a filter material or media of the cartridge filter element, with the cleaned air then passed out of a discharge end of the cartridge filter element and vented through a clean air discharge line. The cartridge filter element includes a section of the filter material that is formed, as by rolling, into an outer cylinder and includes bands fitted therearound for maintaining its cylindrical shape. An access door, that is preferably a flat plate having four corners, is centered across the outer cylinder rear end to extend at a right angle therefrom to close off that cylinder rear end.

  • Patent number: 5728464
Abstract: Hydrogen generation system of the present invention are all demand systems that are operated to replenish hydrogen gas to a low pressure storage tank or vessel as hydrogen is drawn therefrom, providing a system that is suitable for use as a portable system. The invention employs electrical and mechanical arrangements that provide for opening an outer coating that has been formed over a reactive material, such as sodium, so as to expose that reactive material to water, generating hydrogen from a chemical reaction therebetween. The electrical system employs a bank of cells, with each cell electrically connected through a controller to a power source and contains a measured volume of a light salt and water solution and a sodium pellet that is coated with aluminum, or other appropriate metal, and provides for passing a current to a select cell to break down the pellet aluminum coating and expose the pellet reactive material to the water to generate hydrogen.

  • Patent number: 5720681
Abstract: The invention is in a torque responsive actuation device, preferably for a belt drive system as is commonly utilized with snowmobile and like type vehicles. A bearing carrier of the invention is connected to a lower half of a split pulley, with the upper pulley half mounting a helix or cam cone that extends towards the carrier undersurface and includes a plurality of cam tracks formed therein that are each to receive a cam follower for travel therealong. Movement of the bearing carrier towards the top face of the pulley upper half is thereby translated to lower the pulley half to spread the pulley upper and lower halves apart, opening a V slot therebetween wherein a drive belt is maintained. A cylindrical shaft is journaled through the bearing carrier and fitted through the pulley that includes a coil spring disposed therearound for providing spring biasing to urge the bearing carrier away from the pulley upper half, biasing the pulley halves together.

  • Patent number: 5693369
Abstract: A process for finally finishing a surface of a bronze sculpture that is then waxed with at least a single wax coating. In a practice of the invention, to a bronze surface that has been polished and preliminarily buffed, a low pressure grit material flow is directed against a section of the bronze surface as a final surface texturing step and, where a surface or surfaces adjacent to the section is to be painted, patinaed, or is to receive a like surface finish, a selected plastic material is used to coat the section of the bronze surface, which material is applied as a liquid and dries to a flexible surface that adheres to so as to essentially render the bronze surface imperious to contamination with paint, water, or the like. After application of paint, patina, or the like, the plastic material coating is stripped away by a painter/operator using a tool or tools, such as a pair of tweezers, to remove the coating. Whereafter the sculpture surface is waxed.
