Abstract: A plethysmograph is described that includes a reference chamber having a top wall, a bottom wall, a barrier wall spaced beneath the bottom wall, a continuous side wall having a lower edge, and a first continuous flange with a lower edge below the bottom wall and above the barrier wall; a test chamber having a bottom wall, a continuous side wall with an upper edge, and a second continuous flange extending upwardly from the upper edge, the interior face of one of the flanges including an annular groove with an O-ring in the groove, and the interior face of the other flange being tapered from vertical by up to about 1°; and a manifold having airflow openings in communication with the reference and test chamber and a common exterior airflow opening through a passageway, and a sampling port in communication with the passageway.

Abstract: A lifting holder system for an animal feeder is shown and described. In one example, the system comprises a tree-interface bar having an upper portion and a lower portion. An extension arm is pivotally attached to the upper portion of the tree-interface bar. A linear actuator is attached to the tree-interface bar and to the extension arm. A feeder/carcass-interface is attached to the extension arm. The result is a system that allows for easy lifting and lowering of an animal feeder to great heights.

Abstract: Systems and methods related to an expanding pallet skirt (EPS) are shown and described. In one example, an EPS includes a side including a stabilizer flap (SF), a display flap (DF), and a convertible shelf (CS) positioned between the SF and the DF. The SF has a ship-orientation and a display-orientation. The DF has a ship-orientation and a display-orientation. The CS converts from a shipper-rest-orientation to an expansion-spacer-orientation. Some systems may optionally include a removable shipper-cover configured to interface with the EPS when the DF is in its ship-orientation.

Abstract: A stock assembly for attachment to the receiver of a shotgun is described. The assembly includes a pistol grip; a stock; a connector tube slidable within a conduit in the stock, the stock and connector being selectively lockable to each other; an attachment member slidable within the tube conduit between fully inserted and fully extended positions; a first elongated connector attached to the attachment member and extending parallel to the longitudinal axis of the tube into attachment with the pistol grip; a second elongated connector extending from the pistol grip into engagement with the receiver, the second member being at an angle to the first member; and a compression spring in the tube conduit urging the attachment member toward its fully extended position.

Abstract: A cushion-less passenger seat. The passenger seat includes spaced left and right spreaders, each having a front and rear leg with top and bottom ends and a seating surface formed from a flexible bottom diaphragm attached to and extending between the left and right spreaders. The passenger seat also includes a lumbar support having lower and upper sections and front and back sides formed from a flexible diaphragm. The lower section of the lumbar support is attached to and between the left and right spreaders. The lumbar support upper section extends upwardly above the seat's rear legs and seating surface.

Abstract: Reduced volatility of urea fertilizers are prepared in accordance with the present invention by first preparing an N-(n-butyl)-thiophosphoric triamide (NBPT) solution by dissolving NBPT in a mixture of an amino alcohol having the formula 1—(H)x—N—((CH2)m—OH)n where m is 1-3, x is 0 or 1, and n is 2 when x is 1 and 3 when x is 0: or the formula 2—(H)y—N—((CH2)—CHOH—CH3)z such that the length of the carbon chain where the secondary hydroxyl group is located is 3, y is 0 or 1, and z is 2 when y is 1 and 3 when y is 0, and a carboxylic acid having 6 or fewer carbon atoms. The solution is then combining with a urea fertilizer in granular or liquid form.

Abstract: A rethreading die for clamping over a section of threaded rod is formed of two separable identically die section halves. Each die section has one-half of an outer gripping surface and an inner abutment face formed of identically shaped spaced first and second face sections in a common plane. One face section has a perpendicular alignment pin and the second face section has a perpendicular recess. The first and second faces are spaced and in a common plane. The die sections are joined together with the pin-containing face of each die section abutting the recess-containing face of the other die section so that the pins are inserted into the recesses to hold the die sections in alignment. A die tool is then clamped around the die surface, so that the die can be rotated over the damaged rod section to repair the threads.

Abstract: A petroleum dispensing system having a dispenser data distribution system with controllable disconnectors for improving on the conventional wiring that connects dispenser data circuits to the system's site controls. The system includes an emergency stop control system, emergency stop disconnects, data wiring terminals, a circuit for connecting and grouping data signals, and dispenser data disconnect and bypass means.

Abstract: An injection device for humidifying a reactor space and injecting and dispersing reagents into the humidified reactor space, including an exterior injection duct for high-velocity gas injection and at least one interior injector for reagent and humidifying agent injection as droplets with a droplet environment. The high-velocity gas ensuring the humidification of the liquid droplet environment and mixing and dispersion of the liquid reagent droplets into the reactor. A multiple injection device system and a method for operating the system are also described.

Abstract: A compact mounting device for releasibly securing a GPS receiver or other electronic accessory to a handlebar of a motorcycle or other handlebar-steered vehicle is described. The device includes a clamp releasibly attachable to a motorcycle handlebar; a cylindrical mounting post rotatably attached to the upper surface of the clamp; a mounting yoke pivotally attached to the mounting post; and a mounting plate to support a GPS receiver or other accessory rotatably attached to the yoke. The face of the accessory can be oriented toward the vehicle rider by rotating the post, tilting the yoke and/or rotating the mounting plate, so that the device is useable with a wide variety of handlebar orientations.

Abstract: A portable carrying case is described to hold medicine vials during travel, doctors' visits, etc. The case includes an open-topped box with a hinged lid and attachment means to secure the lid to the box. The case further includes a vial support platform, which may be the upper surface of the box, or a separate platform attachable to the box bottom wall. The platform has a plurality of spaced, parallel divider walls having lower edges attached to the support surface and upper edges. The divider walls have aligned left holes and aligned right holes. An elastic cord is slidable through aligned holes to cord ends outside an end divider wall. A cord lock is used to adjust the length of the cord. The support surface, walls and cord form a plurality of adjustable vial receiving compartments, with the force on each vial being equal regardless of differences in vial sizes.

Abstract: A method of joining a thermoplastic tube to another tube includes orienting a thermoplastic tube within an outer tube, positioning a malleable band within the thermoplastic tube, and expanding the malleable band radially until a seal is formed between the thermoplastic tube and the outer tube. The invention may also be considered an apparatus including a first tube a second tube and a malleable band. The first tube contains a portion of the second tube. The malleable band is expanded radially, forming a seal between the first and second tube.

Abstract: A F.O.G. water sampling apparatus includes a housing having an inlet, an outlet, a floor that slopes downward from the inlet to the outlet and an open top. A first insert placed in the housing for normal operation includes a pipe having end flanges making a friction fit within the housing and connecting the inlet and outlet and spanning above the housing floor. A second, substitute insert to receive a F.O.G. sampling jar has a floor that slopes downward from the inlet to the outlet and at the floor of the housing.

Abstract: A fume hood is described for use in removing material from, or inserting material into, the opening of a container. The fume hood enclosure has a floor with an opening for insertion of the upper end of the container into the enclosure. The floor includes a circumferential groove around the opening, preferably in a raised shoulder. An annular flexible membrane having an inner diameter smaller than the diameter of the opening is placed in axial alignment over the opening and the groove. A vacuum is drawn on the groove through a vacuum port to pull the section of the membrane above the groove into the groove, holding the membrane securely in place during use. If desired, a retainer can be placed in the groove above the membrane to prevent movement of the membrane in the event of a loss of vacuum.
