Abstract: A duplexing filter suitable for use in a mobile communication system. The filter has a core of dielectric material with several through holes that define resonators. The core has metallized surfaces except for a portion of the top and bottom surfaces. At least one metallized resonator pad surrounds through holes on the top and bottom surfaces. A metallized serpentine region extends from the resonator pad on the bottom surface toward a side surface of the core. The metallized serpentine region causes attenuation of a third harmonic frequency.
Abstract: An actuator and integral position sensor has increased reliability with a fail-safe mode. The actuator and sensor assembly includes a rotary actuator that has a driving shaft. A sensor rotor has the driving shaft mounted in a bore. A contactor is mounted to an outer edge of the rotor. The contactor is engaged with a resistor film as the rotor rotates. A driven shaft is mounted to the rotor in another bore. The rotor couples the driving shaft and the driven shaft together.

Abstract: An oscillator having improved frequency stability which includes an oscillator circuit and an SC-cut resonator connected with the oscillator circuit. The SC-cut resonator has a first turning point. A temperature compensation circuit is connected with the oscillator circuit. The temperature compensation circuit is adapted to adjust a reference frequency generated by the oscillator circuit according to a frequency response associated with a second turning point of an AT-cut resonator.
Abstract: A module for a surface acoustic wave oscillator includes a substrate having a top surface, a bottom surface and peripheral side faces. Several castellations are located about the outer peripheral side faces thereof. The castellations form an electrical connection between the top and bottom surfaces of the substrate. Connection pads are mounted on the top surface and are adapted for connection to the castellations. An oscillator circuit and a surface acoustic wave device are mounted on the top surface and connected to the connection pads. A cover is mounted over the substrate and has at least one tab adapted to be fitted within a respective one of the castellations. The overall module with the cover has a dimension of approximately 5 mm in width, 7 mm in length, and 2.7 mm in height.
Abstract: A sensor is disclosed for sensing an applied load. The sensor includes a rigid substrate. A strain sensitive resistor is mounted to the substrate. The resistor has a pair of ends. The resistor has a length and a width that defines an area. A pair of conductors are connected to the end of the resistor. A dielectric layer is mounted over the resistor. A load transfer device is mounted to the dielectric layer. The load transfer device transfers the applied load directly to the strain sensitive resistor such that the resistor is compressed. The resistor changes resistance in response to the applied load.
