  • Patent number: 6700448
Abstract: A dual-range crystal oscillator module comprises lower and upper wiring board panels each having a component side, a surface mount side, a central portion and an outer edge portion including a plurality of input-output contacts. A lower set of crystal oscillator components is mounted to the lower wiring board panel such that the lower set and the lower wiring board panel define a first crystal oscillator circuit. An upper set of crystal oscillator components is mounted to upper wiring board panel such that the upper set of crystal oscillator components and the upper wiring board panel together define a second crystal oscillator circuit. A side-wall frame is attached between the upper and the lower wiring boards providing connections between the input-output contacts of the upper wiring board panel and the input-output contacts of the lower wiring panel.

  • Patent number: 6654005
Abstract: A joystick has a base and a cover mounted over the base. A stick has a first end extending from the cover and a second end. A gimbal has a first and second yoke that are coupled to the stick to allow the stick to move. The yokes each have a first and second end. A pair of wipers is mounted to the first ends of the yokes. A pair of resistors is positioned between the wipers and the base. The resistors are adapted to generate an electrical output signal indicative of a position of the stick when a voltage is applied to the resistors. Several terminals are mounted to the base. A first portion of the terminals are electrically connected to the resistors. A switch is positioned in the base below the second end of the first yoke. The switch is activated when the first yoke is sufficiently rotated so as to cause the second end of the first yoke to contact the switch and to close the switch.

  • Patent number: 6647811
Abstract: A seat belt tension sensor is attached to a seat belt in a vehicle. The seat belt tension sensor includes a housing attached between the vehicle and the seat belt. A limit structure is located in the housing. A sensor is attached to the limit structure for generating an electrical signal in response to the sensor being placed in tension. The electrical signal changes as a function of tension on the seat belt. The limit structure moves between a first position in which the limit structure transfers the seat belt tension to the sensor and a second position in which the limit structure transfers the seat belt tension to the housing.

  • Patent number: 6621361
Abstract: An ovenized oscillator has two ovens. One of the ovens is heated by a heater and the other is cooled by a thermoelectric module. The ovenized oscillator has an inner oven with an oscillator located inside. A thermoelectric heat pump cools the inner oven. An outer oven contains the inner oven and the thermoelectric heat pump. A heater heats the outer oven. The ovenized oscillator is operated with the inner oven temperature being lower than the outer oven temperature to improve component life and reduce crystal aging.

  • Patent number: 6560860
Abstract: A low temperature co-fired ceramic assembly (LTCC) with a constraining core to minimize shrinkage of outer ceramic layers during firing. The outer ceramic layers have high density circuit features. A ceramic core includes several ceramic layers. Several via holes are located in the first and second ceramic layers. Several low density circuit features are located on the ceramic layers that make up the core. Outer ceramic layers are placed top and bottom of the ceramic core. The outer ceramic layers have via holes and high density circuit features. The circuit features patterned on the ceramic layers include resistors, capacitors, circuit lines, vias, inductors, or bond pads. The ceramic core is fired first in a furnace. The outer layers are then laminated to the ceramic core and fired. The ceramic core controls the shrinkage rate of the outer ceramic layers during firing allowing higher density circuit features on the outer layers.

  • Patent number: 6546816
Abstract: An eccentricity compensator for preventing wear induced rotational displacement. The eccentricity compensator is mounted between two rotating shafts joined by a torsion bar that have non-coaxial axes of rotation. The compensator includes a first ring attached to a first shaft and a second ring located adjacent the first ring. A third ring is attached to a second shaft and the third ring is located adjacent the second ring. One or more pin-slot pairs are located between any two of the first, second or third rings.
