Abstract: A communication apparatus having a main battery for performing main operations of the communication apparatus so as to connect or remove from the device freely. The communication apparatus includes a clock unit and a control unit. The clock unit configured to count a current time by using power supplied by the main battery, and configured to acquire the current time from a base station based on the main battery was connected after the main battery was removed the communication apparatus. And the control unit configured to control so as to set the current time acquired by the clock unit as the current time counted.

Abstract: A measuring head system for a coordinate measuring machine, having a scanning element for contacting a measured object as a contacting part, which can be moved such that an object to be measured can be mechanically scanned using the scanning element. An optical sensor is fixed on the measuring head base. Means are provided to generate a projection on the sensor line using at least one radiation source. The means have at least one first mask element to generate a first partial projection on the sensor line such that said partial projection is optimized to determine an x displacement and a y displacement of the contacting part in relation to the measuring head base in the x direction or y direction. An analysis unit is configured to determine the x displacement and the y displacement from signals only generated by the one sensor line.

Abstract: A transport device, which transports a sheet set in a set section toward the downstream side on a transport path, includes a restricting member. Abstract: Seatbelt systems for generating electrical energy. The seatbelt systems may include a first and second engagement units and an electrical energy generation unit. The first engagement unit may be configured to rotate upon movement of a portion of a seatbelt in contact therewith. The second engagement unit may include at least one portion configured to rotatably engage the first engagement unit and to rotate relative to movement of the first engagement unit in an engaged position. The electrical energy generation unit may be operably coupled to the second engagement unit and configured to generate electrical energy upon rotation of the second engagement unit. Vehicles including the seatbelt systems and methods for fabricating the seatbelt systems are also disclosed.
Abstract: In one example embodiment, a pluggable ONU transceiver module comprises a top shell, a bottom shell configured to mate with the top shell to form a cavity, and a PCB disposed within the cavity. A plurality of pins are coupled to the PCB and are configured to be inserted into a protruding socket of a host device through the bottom shell. The protruding socket is mounted on a PCB of the host device. The pluggable ONU transceiver module further comprises one or more guiding features integrated with the bottom shell and configured to ensure that the pins are inserted correctly into the protruding socket, and means for positioning the top shell at a predetermined height above the PCB of the host device to allow coupling of the top shell to a heatsink of the host device.

Abstract: An optical communication apparatus that includes multiple optically communicative components positioned optically in series. Some of the optically communicative components may be optical fiber segments of perhaps different types. The optical channel represented by the series of optically communicative components and approximates a transfer function of an optical channel of a longer optical fiber. Accordingly, rather than deal with a lengthy optical fiber, an apparatus having a shorter optical channel may be used instead. The construction of the optical communicative components may be calculating an input transfer function. The construction would include an ordering of discrete optically communicative components that, when placed optically in series, simulates an estimation of a particular transfer function. Testing may then occur by actually passing an optical signal through the series construction of optically communicative components, rather than through the longer optical fiber.

Abstract: An exhaust gas recirculation valve in a vehicle has two valves that are controlled individually by using one driving source. The exhaust gas recirculation valve enables secure operation of a vehicle even if the driving source is out of order. The exhaust gas recirculation EGR valve includes a driving unit having a driving motor for rotating a motor shaft and an interlocking unit for receiving rotational force from the motor shaft. A rod portion moves upon reception of the rotational force. A valve unit at an end portion of the rod portion controls a flow rate of the exhaust gas. A valve housing is coupled to the driving unit as one unit and has an EGR port and a bypass port. The interlocking unit includes a valve return member for rotating the motor shaft forcibly to make the valve unit to move to an initial position.

Abstract: An x-ray tube having a reduced spacing between the focal spot of an anode and an adjacent end wall of an evacuated enclosure is disclosed. This in turn positions the tube relatively closer to the chest wall of a patient during mammography procedures. In one embodiment, the x-ray tube comprises an evacuated enclosure having first and second ends interconnected by a cylindrical side wall. The evacuated enclosure includes a rotor assembly having a bearing assembly and a stem. An anode is rotatably supported by the stem of the rotor assembly and includes a target surface and an opposite second surface. The target surface is positioned to face the bearing assembly, while the second surface is positioned to face the first end of the evacuated enclosure, with no intervening structure interposed therebetween. A cathode is included to emit electrons for impingement on a focal spot of the focal track.
