Abstract: A rear suspension system for a two wheel cycle such as a bicycle or motorcycle having a main frame which includes a rearwardly or downwardly inclined down tube. A vertically pivotable rear frame assembly includes a pair of swing arms which extend rearwardly from pivotal connections on the main frame. Rear wheel fitments are carried by the swing arms. A pair of elongated flexible tubelike or rodlike chain stays extend forwardly from the rear fitments at a fixed angle relative to the swing arms. A tubular shock absorber assembly is supported on the down tube and has a spring urging a coupler portion thereof in a forward and upward direction. A bell crank assembly, pivotally connected to the underside of the frame, connects the chain stays to the coupler portion of the shock absorber assembly.
Abstract: A unitary, removable, transportation ring for retaining the lid or cover on a cylindrical container, such as a metal paint can, which operatively fits over the outer margin of the container's friction-fit cover and upper rim flange; such ring being molded of rigid plastic material to form a unitary annular member of generally inverted U-shape cross section defining an annular body having a raised planar platform forming a stacking ring on the upper side of its body and two parallel annular limbs depending from the underside of the body; the radially outer annular limb having a continuous radially inwardly projecting locking bead or finger adapted to underengage the upper rim flange of the container whereby to secure and retain the transportation ring in operating position while the inner annular limb is relatively longer and thinner than the outer limb and is designed to depend freely into an underlying annular recess formed near the outer edge of the container's lid or cover to frictionally fit into a corres

Abstract: A compact disc program display mechanism in which album covers are displayed on pages similar to a book presentation; each album having a selection indicia visually associated therewith for selection by the customer. The several pages are turned in response to energization of an electrical drive motor and gear train, controlled manually by customer accessible push button switches or automatically by a programmed microprocessor. Each energization of the motor serves to pivotally turn a pair of pages in one direction with the indexing movements of the pages being controlled by an opto-switch and the microprocessor for deenergizing the drive motor at predetermined page movement. Reverse movement of the pages is also conditioned by the opto-switch which signals the micro-processor to reverse the rotational direction of the drive motor. Each page displays album covers on both its front and back sides for customer viewing.
Abstract: A mortarless concrete block retaining wall is formed from special blocks arranged in set-back tiers and interlocked by special offset pins. Each block is trapezoidal in plan view with a pair of vertical holes behind a relatively wide front face. The holes in adjacent tiers are laterally offset. The pins have opposite end sections which are laterally offset from one another and fit respectively in the offset holes to interlock adjacent tiers in set-back relation. The special pins are rotatably adjustable to interlock the tiers in a straight configuration or in varying degrees of convex and concave curved configurations.
Abstract: A quick acting connector assembly is described for interlocking a portable member, such as a toilet seat, to a stationary member, such as a toilet, for example. The portable member carries a mounting bracket fixed to one margin thereof to present a planar flange or platform carrying headed pins projecting from one face thereof, with each pin located adjacent an enlarged opening receptive of a headed locking post extending from an underlying mounting plate fixed to the stationary member in assembly.
Abstract: A biodegradable plastic composition prepared by mixing:(a) dry unmodified starch, e.g. Pearl starch,(b) a copolymer of an olefin and a comonomer selected from the group of C.sub.1-6 alkylacrylates, C.sub.1-6 alkylmethacrylates, and vinyl acetate, and optionally also including,(c) a poly(mono)olefin or a poly(mixed)olefin, and articles manufactured by injection molding or blowing films of this composition.
Abstract: A multi-axis, remote control, mobile, robotic machining center of Cartesian structure having three mutually perpendicular X, Y and Z linear movement axes in which an elongated horizontal ram, adapted to carry various working tools at one outer end thereof, is rigidly supported on a vertical pedestal for movement along the vertical Y axis and linear Z-axis. The ram also is mounted for rotational movement about a horizontal A axis normal to the Y axis and is thereby capable of being selectively positioned in either of two horizontal operating attitudes in which the working tools are operably disposed on opposite sides of the pedestal.
Abstract: A slant-shelf magazine for an automatic, coin controlled, vending machine adapted to dispense cylindrical articles, such as canned or bottled beverages, which are stored and gravitationally fed from plural, parallel, horizontally inclined superposed storage racks into a vertical drop chute located opposite the lower ends of such racks. The drop chute communicates with a horizontally inclined delivery chute having a vend mechanism at its lowermost end for releasing articles one-by-one to a discharge hopper upon customer selection. The delivery chute is oppositely inclined from the storage racks and is joined to the drop chute by an intervening curvilinear guideway formed to reverse the gravitational movement direction of the articles prior to entry into the delivery chute for purposes of reducing article load forces on the vend mechanism.
