Abstract: A pedicle screw fastening that can be made polyaxial, monoaxial, fixed, or provide a predefined monoaxial placement. The fastening system consists of an anchoring bone screw having threads on one end for use in anchoring to the screw to the spine and a spherical connector on the other end operating as a pivot point about which a U-shaped or side loading connecting assembly is used to secure to a connecting rod for use in stabilization of a spine. The connecting assembly, for receipt of a spinal connecting rod, includes a biased retainer ring for maintaining a positive tension between the connecting assembly and the anchored screw. The system allows for an improved manufacturing step wherein the threaded shank of a bone screws can be passed through a lower portion of the connecting assembly allowing a variety of bone screw sizes to be used with a common sized connector.

Abstract: A polyaxial ball and socket joint that can be locked into a fixed position. The fastening system consists of the polyaxial ball and socket joint used in conjunction with a bone screw having threads on one end for use in anchoring to the spine and a spherical connector on the other end operating as a pivot point about which a connecting assembly moves in a polyaxial fashion. A substantially U-shaped connecting assembly has a lower receptacle that operates as a socket for housing an upper retainer ring and a lower split retaining ring. The socket is receptive to the spherical connector which is inserted through the lower split retainer ring causing a momentary displacement thereof which allows for the positioning of the spherical connector between the upper and lower retainer rings.

Abstract: Disclosed is a process for reclamation of waste fluids. A conditioning container is employed for receipt of waste material on a continuous flow for treatment within the container by immersible transducers producing ultrasonic acoustic waves in combination with a high level of injected ozone. The treated material exhibits superior separation properties for delivery into a centrifuge for enhanced solid waste removal. The invention discloses a cost efficient and environmentally friendly process and apparatus for cleaning and recycling of flowback, or frac water, which has been used to stimulate gas production from shale formations. The apparatus is mobile and containerized and suitable for installation at the well site.
Abstract: A fastening system for bone screws used in spinal fixation systems for reshaping the spine of a patient. The bone screw has threads on one end for anchoring in the spine. The other end has a spherical head with a multi sided recess formed therein for engagement with an appropriate driving tool. The system includes a stabilizing rod, a saddle member, a cap member and a set screw with at least one bone screw having a outer diameter that exceeds the diameter of a cavity formed in the saddle, wherein placement of the bone screw is made possible by matching the threads of the set screw to the threads of the bone screw. The head of the bone screw providing proper positioning of the stabilization rod within the patient.

Abstract: A two-dimensional reflection pattern suitable for corneal topography that uses sinusoidal profiles of both intensity and color values. The technique provides a more robust image processing due to the ability to apply digital band pass filters, continuous data for improved surface reconstruction, and the ability to directly measure the meridian of the reflection pattern source point when the corneal surface normal does not lie in the meridian of the measurement instrument.
Abstract: The present invention is directed toward a data acquisition and display system for vehicles that includes a GPS receiver and connects to the vehicle's on-board computer(s) via a data link connector. The system includes a display module suitable for permanent or temporary attachment within the interior of a vehicle. The display module includes a display computer including a suitable processor, operating system, software and tangible data storage media to allow multiple user configurable functions for display on a full color monitor that also functions as a touch screen for inputting commands to the computer. The display module collects information from the GPS receiver via direct electrical communication and/or vehicle via multiple busses and senders through the data link connector and displays the information on the screen of the display module in a user configured graphics format.
Abstract: A dressing having a flexible sleeve shaped to accommodate a substantially cylindrical body portion, the sleeve having a lining which is substantially non-adherent to the body part being bandaged and having a peripheral securement means which attaches two peripheral portions to each other without those portions being circumferentially adhered to the sleeve portion.
Abstract: A radiation beam analyzer for measuring the distribution and intensity of radiation produced by a CyberKnife®. The analyzer employs a relative small tank of water into which a sensor is placed. The distance between the sensor and the radiation source is not varied. The tank of water is raised and lowered relative to the sensor to simulate the location of a malady within a patient's body. This movement of the tank permits the radiation from the CyberKnife® to be properly calibrated and adjusted for a proper treatment of a malady in a patient.
Abstract: A wagon assembly for carrying items and materials typically used in lawn and garden care. The wagon assembly has a wheeled unitary body construction that forms a storage compartment. A storage bin can be placed inside the compartment or beneath and external the storage compartment. A lid is positionable over the storage compartment having recesses formed within the lid for holding of various items including a cushion, the recesses each having a drain to avoid the collection of water. A handle is provided by use of a flexible and detachable pull strap. The strap is adjustable in length and allows pulling of the wagon at most as well as hands free operation when desired.
Abstract: A spinal spacer system includes a handle member, an extension member including a first and a second end, wherein the first end of the extension member is coupled to the handle member. Additionally, a coupling device configured to selectively couple a spacer to the second end of the extension member is disposed on the extension member including an angular fixation member configured to fix the spacer in an angular position relative to the handle member. The spinal spacer system also includes an actuator configured to selectively actuate the coupling device and the angular fixation member. The spacer of the present exemplary spinal spacer system includes a proximal end, a distal end, and a rotatably coupleable engagement member disposed on the proximal end of the spacer. According to one exemplary embodiment, the coupling device includes a single protruding member extending from the second end of the extension member.
