  • Patent number: 5424026
Abstract: The invention provides an apparatus for compressively molding cushioning material using a quadrangular cylindrical molding box having an end side closed by a receiver mold, whereas the other end of said molding box receives supply of dry raw material consisting of fiberized paper or pulp by a volume corresponding to several times the actual volume of a molded body. A compressive mold inserted from the other end of the molding box is shifted to one-end side of the molding box to compress supplied raw material between a receiver mold. Simultaneously, a core member is retreated to a predetermined position of said one-end side in association with the shifting movement of the compressive mold. As a result, the core portion having thin thickness and the interior of the core member can securely be compressed and molded with even density.

  • Patent number: 5412998
Abstract: A torque measuring system can detect the magnitude of a torque applied to a torque sensing shaft and output a torque signal with respect to the torque. A torque sensor of the system has a measurement mode for producing torque signals and a correction mode for correction of its detection characteristics. An external signal for selection of one of the two modes is supplied to the torque sensor by a characteristic check device. The correction mode enables the correction of the torque sensor characteristics to be effected accurately and in a short time period without requiring manual labor.

  • Patent number: 5377761
Abstract: A ground fracturing probe to form fractures in subsurface formations includes an elongate, hollow body with a conical penetrating tip at its distal end. A threaded tool joint is at the other end of the body to allow the probe to be coupled to the drill string of a drilling rig. A helical flight is on the exterior surface of the body and extends along a portion of the body length between the tool joint and the penetrating tip. The helical flight varies in diameter over its length to define a cutting zone adjacent the penetrating tip, an injection zone above the cutting zone and a sealing zone above the injection zone. The helical flight increases in diameter in the cutting zone from the tip to the injection zone but decreases abruptly in diameter at the injection zone. The diameter of the flight remains constant in the injection zone and increases in diameter at the interface between the injection zone and the sealing zone.

  • Patent number: 5351915
Abstract: A helicopter deck comprises a supporting main frame (1, 2) which at least comprises a preferably polygonal circumferential frame (1), possibly connected with intermediate carrying beams (2), the main frame (1, 2) forming a supporting frame for the actual deck consisting of elongate, mutually "semi-rigidly" (mortice/tenon) connected deck elements (3), e.g. in the form of extruded aluminium profiles. One has aimed at providing a distribution of point loads (from helicopter wheels) from one loaded deck element (3) across the same and the adjacent deck elements (3), thereby giving rise to helicopter deck weight reductions. To this end, at least most of the deck elements (3) are connected with at least one underlying, lateral, load distributing beam (5) which is freely suspended and, thus, not connected with or supported on the main frame (1, 2).
