  • Patent number: 6860184
Abstract: A film cutter is provided for use in an industrial process in which a vertical blade and a horizontal blade interact. The vertical blade is mounted to move slidingly in a vertical plane and an end of the vertical blade rests upon the horizontal blade. The horizontal blade is mounted at an acute angle to the vertical blade. In the cutting process, the horizontal blade is moved in a direction that is perpendicular to the vertical blade so as to maintain the acute angle between the cutting edges substantially constant while the cutting intersection moves along the blade length.

  • Patent number: 6775957
Abstract: A hydrophobic, compressible, resilient filler for keeping pills from movement in a container during handling is provided in the form of a tube that is cut to a desired length and axially compressed in horizontal orientation. The tube is compressed and inserted through the neck portion of the container and allowed to expand to become entrapped within the container so as to apply pressure to keep the pills from movement or damage. An apparatus and method is disclosed for extending a desired length of filler in flattened tubular form from a large supply, to cut the length of tube from the supply, to reconfigure the cross-sectional shape of the filler tube, to axially compress the rounded tube, and to insert the axially compressed filler into a container that is aligned with the insertion ram.

  • Patent number: 6588037
Abstract: The present invention provides a portable support device adapted for being disassembled into segments for packing and being readily assembled. The support device in a first embodiment has a base block to which a pair of arms is assembled and to which a segmented pole is mounted in vertical orientation to support a mosquito net. In a second embodiment, an arm is assembled to a beam to define a horizontal plane and a segmented pole is assembled to the beam in a vertical orientation without use of a connecting block. In third and fourth embodiments, a pair of horizontal members are connected to each other and to a vertical support pole by a rigid connector. According to a third embodiment, a junction piece having two studs extending in a horizontal plane and a third stud in vertical orientation with an arm mounted to each of the horizontal studs and a pole mounted to the vertical stud to form a support apparatus.
