Abstract: A two-piece boat cover for use with open fishing boats as well as boats with a single console or double console is described.

Abstract: A bicycle seat is provided which is designed to relieve pressure on the perineal area of riders, as well as relieve pressure on the ischial tuberosities, commonly known as the sit bones, of a rider. The seat includes a mount in the form of a pair of parallel and spaced apart mounting members. A pair of a support members extend upwardly and rearwardly in relation to the respective mounting members for supporting a pair of annular seat members thereon which support the buttocks of the rider. The support members and seat members supported thereon are movable relative to the mounting members between flexed and unflexed positions. The seat members include a peripheral seating surface about a central opening which suspends the sit bones of the rider therein. The seat is simple in construction, being formed by bent rods of material with padded material injection molded integrally about the rods.

Abstract: A cutting machine which dispenses and cuts sheet material includes a carriage on rails for movement parallel to the horizontal rolls carried on a vertical carrousel. The carriage supports a cutting table top and a drive roller at one side for driving the roll of floor covering material on the carrousel in forward direction for feeding the sheet to the table top and in reverse direction for re-winding. A measuring wheel and electric eye for detecting the presence of the material are located on the table top. A sensor is provided to detect if the measuring wheel is de-activated during use. A control unit includes a printer and is arranged to cause measurement and feeding of a measured length of the material which is fed to a re-roller on the carriage.

Abstract: A fuel conduction system is provided for conducting fuel between a fuel source and a fuel consuming device which are either integrated as a single unit or apart as separate units. The system generally comprises concentric supply and return tubes for connection between the fuel source and the pump of a consuming device. A valve is positioned in series with the supply line which prevents siphoning of the contents of the supply line if it is damaged. Anti-siphoning and flashback arrest measures are also provided on the return line. In one embodiment, the fuel conduction system may be used on a portable fuel storage devices for refueling various consuming devices. In another embodiment, the fuel conduction system may be used on a fuel consuming device, between the pump and fuel storage container thereon, so that the fuel storage container may be selectively separated from the device in a safe manner.

Abstract: A combination of a bicycle and a display rack therefor, the bicycle has a frame and a plurality of wheels on the frame. The rack having a frame, a mount portion of the frame arranged to be coupled to a ceiling of a building, a linkage having a hanger such that the bicycle can be coupled to the hanger and wherein the linkage is moveable between a first raised position for display and a second lowered position for providing access to the hanger and a cylinder and piston within the mounting portion for retracting the linkage from the second position to the first position.

Abstract: Flour tortillas (i.e. soft tacos and tortillas, wraps, flatbreads) with improved texture and nutritional characteristics represent novel food products that can be processed using flour milled from specific barley cultivars (barley cultivars with waxy starch characteristics and high levels of fibre) as the flour source and with modifications to the die-cut or hot press tortilla methods. Tortilla chips (i.e. taco chips, sopapillas) also produced from specific types of barley flour using the previously described methods can be baked or fried. Barley tortillas and chips can also be produced from barley masa which is produced by cooking and steeping waxy barley in an alkali solution (nixtamalization).

Abstract: A cooler comprising a container having a container bottom wall and upstanding side walls standing upwardly from a periphery of the bottom wall and defining an open top and a cover wall hingedly connected to one of the side walls and attachable to at least one other of the side walls so as to close the open top. Each of the side walls and the cover wall being formed of a flexible fabric material with a layer of insulating material thereon such that the side walls can be folded to allow collapse of the container from an expanded position for receiving articles to be maintained cooled to a collapsed storage condition. A bottle for receiving liquid has two opposed side walls and a peripheral wall with one side wall shaped to substantially match the shape of the bottom wall such that the bottle is arranged to be located at the bottom of the container with the side wall lying against the bottom wall to provide stiffening for the bottom wall and the other side wall facing into the interior of the container.

Abstract: A garden enclosure kit is provided for protecting a planted area from frost and the like. The kit includes a frame structure arranged to be supported on the ground about the planted area. Sheeted material is supported on a roller arranged to be selectively coupled to the frame structure to define an enclosure. The sheeted material includes an elongate main sheet having a coupled end coupled to the roller and a free end arranged to be coupled to the frame structure spaced from the roller for defining a cover extending over the planted area. The sheeted material also includes a plurality of side sheets formed integrally with the main sheet which are arranged to be suspended from respective sides of the main sheet in an extended position of the sheeted material for enclosing the planted area. When the use of the enclosure is no longer required, the side sheets are folded across the main sheet so that the sheeted material may be rolled onto the roller.

Abstract: A golf club iron has a club head having a generally planar generally rectangular front face for impacting a ball with a horizontal top edge and a horizontal bottom edge. The front face is symmetrical about an imaginary upright center line at right angles to a transverse line and equidistant between the sides so that the upright center line and the transverse center line intersect at an imaginary center point of the front face. The club head defines an imaginary horizontal center line at right angles to the transverse line passing through the imaginary center point of the front face and substantially through the center of gravity of the head. A tubular shaft hosel is integrally attached to the rear face of the club head with an axis of the tubular hosel at the club head coaxial with the axis of the shaft. The hosel is arranged so that the axis of the shaft and the hosel intersects the imaginary horizontal center line at a position reward of the center of gravity.

Abstract: An architecture for capture and generation, and a set of methods for characterization, prediction, and classification of traffic in packet networks are disclosed. The architecture consists of a device that stores packet timing information and processes the data so that characterization, prediction, and classification algorithms can perform operations in real-time. A methodology is disclosed for real-time traffic analysis, characterization, prediction, and classification in packet networks. The methodology is based on the simultaneous aggregation of packet arrival times at different times scales. The traffic is represented at the synchronous carrier level by the arrival or non-arrival of a packet. The invention does not require knowledge about the information source, nor needs to decode the information contents of the packets. Only the arrival timing information is required. The invention provides a characterization of the traffic on packet networks suitable for a real-time implementation.

Abstract: A braking system is provided for rail equipment supported for rolling movement on the rails of a railway. The braking system includes a pair of braking elements arranged to be supported laterally spaced apart on the rail equipment for engaging the respective rails of the railway. Each braking element includes an upper brake block for selectively engaging a top side and a side brake block for selectively engaging an inner side of the corresponding rail. Actuators are provided for urging the braking elements downward and outward in relation to the rail equipment. The actuators engage the braking elements with the respective rails to provide a wedging action between respective inner sides of the rails. This arrangement provides considerable braking force using a relatively simple construction.

Abstract: An apparatus for collecting insects comprising (i) a source of propane, (ii) a propane burner arranged to combust propane from the source of propane so as to produce carbon dioxide and water vapor as products of combustion for attracting insects, and (iii) an insect collector located in proximity to the propane burner for collecting insects attracted to the propane burner. The use of a propane burner provides the desired products of combustion including carbon dioxide and water vapor as well as heat for mimicking the breathing of animals to attract biting insects using readily available propane tanks. The convection of heat from the propane burner is further beneficial because a flow of carbon dioxide and water vapor through the collector may be achieved without the additional requirement of fans or any other complex arrangement of parts. The collector may comprise an electrical grid which does not require a light for attracting insects as do conventional electrical grids for pest control.

Abstract: A crop harvesting header includes a cutter bar arranged across a forward edge of a header frame structure, a draper or auger transport arrangement for transporting the cut crop for further processing, and a reel mounted on reel arms for controlling movement of the crop in the area over the cutter bar with the reel having a plurality of reel bats at spaced positions around the reel axis each reel bat having reel fingers projecting generally radially outwardly from the reel axis, the reel bats all lying on a common bat circle around the reel axis so that rotation of the reel causes the reel bats to follow a path of movement lying on the bat circle. A non-circular stationary cam track surrounds the reel axis within the bat circle so that the end most fingers of the bats are located in line with the cam and immediately adjacent-the end sheet.

Abstract: A shock absorbing device is provided for use on a hoist of the type generally used for safety of personnel entering a manhole or the like which has a base for mounting on a support surface at the hole and a jib portion. A winch is mounted at one position on the hoist for paying out and pulling in a first cable which passes over the jib portion to a pulley at the jib end. A fall restraint device with a second cable is mounted at a different location on the host with the second cable extending upwardly from the hoist to a second pulley at the jib end. The shock absorbing device for the pulleys includes a common mounting member pivotally attached to the mounting element at the jib end for pivotal movement relative thereto about a horizontal axis with a shock absorbing brake arranged to resist said pivotal movement up to a predetermined load limit such that a downward shock force from the load on at least one of the first and second pulleys causes the common member to pivot downwardly in a shock absorbing action.
