Patent number: 8221767Abstract: Infectious pancreatic necrosis virus (IPNV), the etiologic agent of infectious pancreatic necrosis in salmonid fish, causes significant losses to the aquaculture industry. The gene for the viral capsid protein (VP2) was cloned into a yeast expression vector and expressed in Saccharomyces cerevisae. Expression of the capsid gene in yeast resulted in formation of approximately 20 nanometer sub-viral particles composed solely of VP2 protein. Anti-IPNV antibodies were detected in rainbow trout vaccinated either by injection of purified VP2-subviral particles (rVP2-SVP) or by feeding recombinant yeast expressing rVP2-SVP. Challenge of rVP2-SVP immunized trout with a heterologous IPNV strain and subsequent viral load determination showed that both injection and orally vaccinated fish had lower IPNV loads than naive or sham-vaccinated fish.Type: GrantFiled: December 18, 2007Date of Patent: July 17, 2012Assignee: Advanced Bionutrition CorporationInventors: Arun K. Patent number: 8219499Abstract: The business review application provides a customer with a bank-hosted business review platform that provides an advertising and feedback service for the bank's business customers and provides a rating, review, feedback, and recommendation service for the bank's individual and business customers. Thus, the bank's customers can rate and review the bank's business customers. The bank uses its authentication systems used by its customers to access online banking services to authenticate the identity of the customer creating a business review in the business review platform. In some embodiments, the business review application only permits its customers to make one review of a business within a certain period of time or one review after a transaction with that business shows up in the customer's transaction information maintained by the bank. In this way, the bank can host a review platform that is much more accurate and trust-worthy than traditional business review platforms.Type: GrantFiled: February 26, 2010Date of Patent: July 10, 2012Assignee: Bank of America CorporationInventors: Srinath Nagarajan, Timothy James Mark, Kerry Cantley, David Joa, Kurt D. Patent number: 8218851Abstract: Stored documents can be recognized and identified by evaluation of their attributes from an image file to obtain a document specification that can be compared to stored data about the document. The image file is analyzed using a processor in order to discern image attributes. The image attributes form a specification for the document in the image. This specification can then be compared to the stored criteria using the processor, and the result of the comparison can be stored. An embodiment of the invention can be used in a check processing system for a financial institution. In such a case, the corresponding data comprises MICR data and the image attributes can, for example, indicate whether the document is a check in a carrier, as opposed a paper check by itself.Type: GrantFiled: March 19, 2009Date of Patent: July 10, 2012Assignee: Bank of America CorporationInventors: Kerry M Cantley, Kenneth R Cox, Theresa A Haynes, Ronald R Hollander

Patent number: 8219368Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide apparatuses and methods for a capacity model run-time estimator that determines the transactional capacity of an application. The capacity model run-time estimator is based on a model that includes at least one job with various steps within a run-time window. One or more windows make up shifts and one or more shifts make up a day. Historical data is used to estimate various run-times for each of the steps in a window. If the steps are dependent on transaction characteristics a statistical analysis is used to determine a run-time window estimator model that is dependent on the transaction characteristics. Constraints are placed on the run-time and transaction capacity of the windows, intra-windows, and shifts. The capacity model uses the run-time window estimators and constraints to determine the transaction capacity for an application across various periods and compares the results to forecasted capacity.Type: GrantFiled: May 18, 2009Date of Patent: July 10, 2012Assignee: Bank of America CorporationInventors: Vijay B.
