  • Patent number: 7815404
Abstract: A liner for a transverse trough of a coil-transport railway car for cushioning a coil and for preventing lateral creep of the load during transport. Each sloping wall of a transverse trough is lined with at least one liner to prevent lateral creep in both transverse directions. Each liner is comprised of a horizontal bottom base or support layer, from which upwardly project a plurality of spaced-apart, flexible fingers or ribs. The fingers or ribs of the liner of the invention may be oriented leftward or rightward in direction of cant, and oriented such as to face or incline toward the centerline of the transport vehicle, and behave or act as leaf springs. When the load of coil is placed onto the liner of the present invention, the fingers thereof serve as the load-bearing surface, and bend or deflect in accordance with the weight of the load, to thereby support the load of coil.

Abstract: In light therapy apparatus is defined to include a UV light source secured to a casing. A shroud is placed over an exposed portion of the UV light source and is secured or attached around the perimeter of the casing end. Since the UV light source can generate a significant amount of heat, the casing includes an internal fan. Various tubing configurations may be used to help direct the air flow from the fan around the UV light source. In addition, a vent opening in the shroud was found to reduce the temperature of the shroud to prevent damage to a person using the apparatus.

  • Patent number: 7755821
Abstract: A system, method, and apparatus for photon logic gates based on quantum switch, where a single or multiple quantum switches are utilized for dark resonance interactions in which three-color lasers interact with a four-level or five-level nonlinear optical medium composed of three ground states and one or two excited states through nondegenerate four-wave mixing processes. The photon logic mechanism is based on combination of single or multiple dark resonance-induced two-photon coherence swapping among the three closely spaced ground states through optical transitions via a common excited state. The two-photon coherence induced on the ground states is optically detected via nondegenerate four-wave mixing processes. The nondegenerate four-wave mixing generation is enhanced owing to dark resonance or electromagnetically induced transparency.

  • Patent number: 7722907
Abstract: One embodiment includes a package system containing a main container with a smaller container nested in it. The smaller container is filled with a secondary food item designed to be mixed into the primary food item. The smaller container is placed within the main container. The area of the main container not occupied by the smaller container includes a main food item. Both containers are sealed with one film. Before consumption, a consumer will place the package in a microwave to heat. Once heated, the smaller container is removed from the main container, creating space in the main container previously occupied by the smaller container. The main food item in the main container will re-position creating space between the top of the main food item to the edge of the main container. The secondary item can be added into the main container without overflowing out of the main container.

  • Patent number: 7708155
Abstract: A cradle unit for supporting metal coils, and other cylindrical objects, consists of two, parallel and separate saddles made of polyurethane or other material having a hardness range of between 50 Shore A and 90 Shore D, which saddles are connected together via a pair of parallel steel angle-brackets that provide inherent structural integrity to the cradle unit itself, while still allowing the unit to conform to the shape or level of the underlying support structure. The single cradle unit may be as a mobile support-device, or may be bolted or otherwise attached to a surface for a specific location of the stored product. The cradle unit is generally concave-shaped and has a first main or central lower concave curvature of a first radius, and a middle or secondary transitional curvature that connects the first main lower curvature to an upper, tertiary concave curvature of a second radius greater than the first radius, so that coils or rolls of different diameter may be safely and firmly supported.
