  • Patent number: 7242276
Abstract: An unlock system does not use a key that might be copied so that only a correct person can unlock a door and security is enhanced. Unlock records of door-lock are stored in a limited memory capacity in volume. Fingerprint data input to a fingerprint input section 21 disposed outside a door 11 provided on a doorway 10 is detected, and the detected fingerprint data is verified against previously registered fingerprint data. If it was confirmed that the detected fingerprint data coincided with the registered fingerprint data, an unlock signal is output to unlock the door-lock. At the same time, an identification code of the registered fingerprint data that unlocked is stored.

  • Patent number: 7189113
Abstract: A connector includes a plug connector and a mating connector. The plug connector includes a housing with an open front end, an insulated inner conductor disposed within the housing, a clamping sleeve, and an axially movable sliding sleeve disposed radially outside the clamping sleeve. The sliding sleeve can be positioned in a working position where it surrounds the clamping sleeve and exerts a radially inward-directed force. The mating connector, which is receivable within the housing, includes a clamping surface. A force Fr introduced radially from the sliding sleeve toward the clamping sleeve when the sliding sleeve is in the working position, is redirected by the clamping sleeve into an axial force component Fa which is introduced from the clamping sleeve toward the clamping surface.

  • Patent number: 7188101
Abstract: A data processing method and system for retrieving a subset of k items from a database of n items (n?k) firstly determines a limited set of bk items (b>1) in the database which have the greatest similarity to an input query t according to a given similarity function S. A result subset is then constructed by including as a first member the item having the greatest similarity S to the query t, and iteratively selecting each successive member of the subset as that remaining item of the bk items having the highest quality Q, where Q is a given function of both similarity to the input query t and relative diversity RD with respect to the items already in the results subset. In this way the diversity of the results subset is greatly increased relative to a simple selection of the k most similar items to the query t, with only a modest additional increase in processing requirements.

  • Patent number: 7175352
Abstract: In order to advantageously weld a pre-mounted connector-plug part (1) to an optical waveguide cable, the connector-plug part is provided with a pin holder (4) receiving a connector-plug pin (2) on a pin receiving section (5). Preferably, two cladding parts (8, 8?) form a cable receiving section (6) in said pin holder. In order to carry out welding in a simple manner on the bare end (22) of the end of a fiber, the cladding parts (8, 8?) can be pivoted around a hinge (9, 9?) between an open position and a closed position. A dividable protective sheath (25, 25?) is provided inside the cable receiving section or inside the cladding parts and can enclose the weld. When mounted, the protective sheath can be de-coupled from the cladding parts (8, 8?).
