Abstract: Apparatus for honing at least one of a spaced apart, coaxial pair of cylindrical inner surfaces. The apparatus includes a rotating shaft having a selected length; a pair of expansible and contractible honing tools spaced a selected distance apart and carried on the shaft, at least one of the tools comprising an abrasive stone; means for rotating the shaft; means for adjusting the distance between the honing tools; means for reciprocating the shaft to repeatedly transverse the honing tools over the coaxial cylindrical inner surfaces; and means for independently expandibly and contractibly adjusting each one of the honing tools independently of the other of the honing tools.

Abstract: An improved method and apparatus for finishing freshly poured concrete. The method includes floating a power trowel on the liquid-particulate surface of freshly poured concrete to produce a smooth, level surface finish prior to the concrete's hardening sufficiently to support the weight of an individual.

Abstract: An improved evaporative cooling unit. The unit efficiently cools air when the evaporative cooling pad is dry and utilizes the turbulent intermixing of air and water to evaporatively cool air without requiring excess water flow onto and from the cooling pad.

Abstract: An aerial survey method to determine ground contours establishes a reference plane to which all contour measurements are referred. The reference plane intersects a rotating beam optical radar unit which includes a receiving antenna. The antenna receives signal waves emanating from the aircraft to measure the relative height of the aircraft with respect to the reference plane. A survey track along the ground for the aircraft is determined and the position of the aircraft along the track is continuously measured. The aircraft is flown continuously along the track and repeated altitude measurements of the aircraft are made. The relative height of the aircraft with respect to the reference plane, the altitude of the aircraft above the ground and the position of the aircraft along the survey track are correlated to determine the ground contours.

Abstract: An improved thread measuring tool. The tool translates linear motion into rotational motion to provide the motive power for turning a thread gauge into a threaded bore in a workpiece.

Abstract: Dynamic flood conveyor. The conveyor permits a chemical solution to be applied to the surface of a material such that the solution interacts with the material at a generally uniform rate at each point on the surface of the material. The apparatus promotes laminar flow of the chemical solution over the surface of the material.

Abstract: An improved vacuum-skimmer regulator assembly for a swimming pool skimmer well. The regulator assembly permits a pool to be simultaneously skimmed and vacuumed and prevents leaves and other surfaces debris collected during skimming from interfering with the vacuuming process. The regulator apparatus also compensates for back pressure which may temporarily develop and, in conventional vacuuming apparatus, "blow" the vaccum hose from its connection with the conventional apparatus.

Abstract: A cosmetic device. The device includes a hand held carrying case which is shaped and dimensioned to be concealed on the person and to conceal a hair brush, hair spray reservoir and mirror within the carrying case. The hair spray reservoir and hair brush can be extended from the carrying case such that an individual can readily hold and manipulate the carrying case with one hand to brush his hair, to operate the spray reservoir, and to view his head and hair in the mirror.

The apparatus enables a bystander to readily visually and audible sense the presence of a bicycle, alters its shape and dimension and position on the bicycle during operation of the bicycle, and comprises a material having portions with differing indices of refraction.

Abstract: An improved color processing system for a color television camera. The color processing system receives panchromatic light focused by the lens of the camera to form an image beam and produces an electrical monochromatic signal of the image beam, primary additive color signal of the image beam, and primary subtractive color signal of the image beam.

Abstract: A head guard for a soccer player. The head guard minimizes injury which can occur to the forehead of a player when contacted by a soccer ball. The head guard also enables a player to more readily control a soccer ball when bunting the ball with his head.

Abstract: Improved abrading apparatus. The apparatus includes a rotating abrasive stone and, to minimize the quantity of abraded particles which escape from the apparatus into the surrounding environment, utilizes a closed circuit air flow and utilizes a protective air curtain between the rotating abrasive stone and a user.

The apparatus creates a cool microclimate at the skin and fur of an animal by directing a flow of evaporatively cooled air over the animal and by wetting the coat of the animal and directing a flow of air over the animal to evaporate water therefrom.

Abstract: Apparatus utilized in combination with a carriage reciprocating between a primary base position and a second position spaced away from the primary base position. The apparatus varies the distance of the second position of the carriage from the primary base portion of the carriage and includes a stop surface on the carriage and a plurality of secondary stop surfaces operatively associated with the carriage stop surface. The secondary stop surfaces are each movable between at least two operative positions, a first operative position in which one of the secondary stop surfaces contacts the carriage stop surface when the carriage is moving away from its primary base position, and, a second operative position in which another of the secondary stop surfaces contacts the carriage stop surface when the carriage is moving from its primary base position. When a secondary stop surface contacts the carriage stop surface, the carriage is halted in its second position.
