The apparatus includes a rotating shaft having a selected length; a pair of expansible and contractible honing tools spaced a selected distance apart and carried on the shaft, at least one of the tools comprising an abrasive stone; means for rotating the shaft; means for adjusting the distance between the honing tools; means for reciprocating the shaft to repeatedly transverse the honing tools over the coaxial cylindrical inner surfaces; and means for independently expandibly and contractibly adjusting each one of the honing tools independently of the other of the honing tools.

The method includes floating a power trowel on the liquid-particulate surface of freshly poured concrete to produce a smooth, level surface finish prior to the concrete's hardening sufficiently to support the weight of an individual.
Abstract: An improved evaporative cooling unit. The unit efficiently cools air when the evaporative cooling pad is dry and utilizes the turbulent intermixing of air and water to evaporatively cool air without requiring excess water flow onto and from the cooling pad.
Abstract: An aerial survey method to determine ground contours establishes a reference plane to which all contour measurements are referred. The reference plane intersects a rotating beam optical radar unit which includes a receiving antenna. The antenna receives signal waves emanating from the aircraft to measure the relative height of the aircraft with respect to the reference plane. A survey track along the ground for the aircraft is determined and the position of the aircraft along the track is continuously measured. The aircraft is flown continuously along the track and repeated altitude measurements of the aircraft are made. The relative height of the aircraft with respect to the reference plane, the altitude of the aircraft above the ground and the position of the aircraft along the survey track are correlated to determine the ground contours.

Abstract: An improved vacuum-skimmer regulator assembly for a swimming pool skimmer well. The regulator assembly permits a pool to be simultaneously skimmed and vacuumed and prevents leaves and other surfaces debris collected during skimming from interfering with the vacuuming process. The regulator apparatus also compensates for back pressure which may temporarily develop and, in conventional vacuuming apparatus, "blow" the vaccum hose from its connection with the conventional apparatus.

The device includes a hand held carrying case which is shaped and dimensioned to be concealed on the person and to conceal a hair brush, hair spray reservoir and mirror within the carrying case.
