  • Patent number: 5672460
Abstract: The present invention aims to solve problems involved in the formation of a conductive or insulating layer in a pattern form by photolithography, i.e., an environmental problem associated with handling a solvent and a problem associated with wastewater treatment in the development with an aqueous alkaline solution. A method for forming a conductive layer (an anode bus 3) or an insulating layer (a barrier 1) on a glass substrate by photolithography using a photosensitive slurry solution prepared by mixing a low-melting glass powder as a binder and a conductive or insulating powder into a PVA-based, water-soluble photosensitive solution, wherein the content of B.sub.2 O.sub.3 component in the whole low-melting glass powder is closely regulated to not more than 6% by weight. This enables coating without gelation of PVA.

  • Patent number: 5663987
Abstract: The signals transmitted on communication lines in a disturbed environment can be affected by strays. A digital filtering device eliminates these strays by suitable detection of the logic states of the digital signals. The signals received are sampled at a frequency greater than the digital information transmission rate, then detection of a state is effective when a minimum number of samples from among a predetermined number of successive samples is reached. The filtering device restores the rising and descending fronts, and also the high and low states without impairing the information. Application to a highly disturbed electromagnetic environment, notably communication links with circuit breakers.

  • Patent number: 5662869
Abstract: An exhaust gas purification system includes an adsorbent containing an adsorbent element for adsorbing harmful compounds such as hydrocarbon in an exhaust gas and a catalyst containing a catalyst element for lowering the harmful compounds in the exhaust gas, each disposed in the exhaust gas pipe of an internal combustion engine. When an oxidizing gas is added to the exhaust gas or amounts of combustion gas and fuel are regulated, for a given period, in the process in which the hydrocarbon in the exhaust gas produced at the cold start-up of the internal combustion engine are adsorbed by the adsorbent and desorbed from the adsorbent as a temperature of the adsorbent is increased by the exhaust gas, an exhaust gas composition containing excessive oxygen is provided and the desorbed hydrocarbon are oxidized on the catalyst. With this arrangement, the harmful compounds in the exhaust gas, in particular, the hydrocarbon produced in a large amount at the cold start-up of the engine can be effectively purified.
