  • Patent number: 5258174
Abstract: A clear gel stick composition is provided from a formula comprising an antiperspirant metal salt, a mono- or di-carboxylic acid or salt of such acid as a complexing agent and a hardening agent selected from the group consisting of lower alkanol amines, diamines and amides.

  • Patent number: 5216817
Abstract: A system for measurement of the geometries and axes of rotation of an object such as the human body is disclosed. The system includes fixtures which are employed in conjunction with sonic, infrared or other digitizer sources. In the case of the human body, the measurements are made by placing the digitizer sources at locations such as the shoulders, waist and legs to monitor the position of the body during various measuring sequences. The digitizer determines the position of the sources in space by measuring the time for the signal to reach an array of receivers. The fixtures employed in the invention include: a T-square foot reference; a single source digitizing strap; an offset digitizing wand; a base and angle fixture; a foot and hip rotation fixture; an ankle axis practice fixture; and an umbilicus reference bar.

  • Patent number: 5213716
Abstract: A fiber conditioning composition, which is preferably a shampoo for human hair, in stable and pearlescent liquid or semi-liquid or gel condition, is an emulsion or dispersion which includes a surfactant, a water insoluble fiber conditioning agent, a long chain saturated primary alcohol or derivative thereof, which stabilizes the emulsion or suspension and makes it pearlescent, and an aqueous medium, which may also contain other components of such fiber conditioning and shampoo compositions. In the preferred shampoos an anionic detergent is present, which is preferably a mixture of higher fatty alcohol sulfate and higher fatty alcohol ethoxylate sulfate, the long chain saturated primary alcohol (or derivative) is of an average of 30 to 40 carbon atoms (ethoxylated such alcohols may also be employed, at least in part) and the water insoluble conditioning agent is a silicone (very preferably a certain type of aminosilicone), a polyethylene, a paraffin, an isoparaffin, a microcrystalline wax, a C.sub.

  • Patent number: 5208952
Abstract: A closure mechanism for use in securing the ends as well as other portions of a pair of interlocking straps, laces, filaments and the like is disclosed. In one embodiment, the closure mechanism is in the form of a generally cylindrical enclosure having a cross-sectional shape which includes flat upper and lower surfaces with semi-circular ends. The closure mechanism may be used to secure a pair of thin planar, elongated strips, each of which has a plurality of ribs positioned transversely along the length thereof. Each of such ribs has a planar side face positioned at an angle of about 45 to 75 degrees relative to the plane of the upper surface of the planar strip to which it is attached. For optimal ease of engagement of the ribs of one strip with those of a second strip, the rear top surfaces of the ribs should be rounded or slightly relieved. The closure device of the present invention provides a high strength mechanism having a quick release feature for easy disengagement of the interlocking members.

  • Patent number: 5203266
Abstract: A foldable table assembly has a base frame formed by transverse lower base pieces, longitudinally opposing pairs of spaced-apart upright pieces having pivot mounts on their upper ends, longitudinal stretchers extending between the upright pieces, and end sections between the upright pieces defining a centerline of the assembly and having leaf stops on their upper ends, for independently holding respective table leaves mounted by pivot pins to the pivot mounts on each transverse side of the centerline. The tables leaves have a total span greater than the width of the upright pieces, and fold vertically for storage within the width of the upright pieces. A longitudinal upper shelf is provided on one transverse side supported by upright posts at the centerline above the corresponding table leaf, and is foldable to a vertical storage position. Round banquet table leaves can be interchangeably mounted in place of rectangular buffer table leaves by removing the pivot pins from the pivot mounts.
