  • Patent number: 5230470
Abstract: Thermoplastic powder entrained in a stream of carrier gas is conveyed through a carrier gas line extending between a flame spray applicator and a remote supply hopper. A bypass line is included to divert the carrier gas before it reaches the hopper and introduce it into the carrier gas line immediately downstream of the hopper, whereby powder supply from the hopper can be terminated while the carrier gas continues to purge the carrier gas line downstream of the hopper to remove contained powder. The flame applicator delivers fuel gas, combustion air and a carrier gas-powder mixture in separate streams to maximize the quality of the flame and the surface coating. The carrier gas-powder mixture is delivered as a central stream, the combustion air as a generally concentric annular stream around the central stream and the fuel gas as an outermost generally concentric annular stream. The body member is formed with a first central bore for delivering the carrier gas-powder mixture.

  • Patent number: 5122031
Abstract: A windmill driven pump having rotatable windmill vanes attached to a turning shaft. A disk is eccentrically mounted on the shaft so that both the disk and shaft rotate along with the vanes. Bearings selectively cooperate with the disk to transfer the rotational movement of the disk to a reciprocally movable beam. A pulley system transfers the movement of the beam to a sucker rod for a pump. A locking device is also provided which can prevent the bearings from cooperating with the disk and thus disengage the pump from the rotation of the windmill.

  • Patent number: RE34079
Abstract: A snowmobile electrical system having a battery conservation circuit. The system is designed to conserve battery power after deactivation of the engine using the kill switch, even if the key switch is left on. Battery power is normally consumed by continued connection of the microprocessor-based electronic engine control unit (ECU) to the battery after kill switch activation. To prevent battery consumption, the ECU monitors the electrical output of the ignition system at a position within the system wherein the output is dependent on engine speed. If the output drops to a specified level, a signal generator in the ECU is activated. Signals from the signal generator are directed to a solid state switching system which disconnects the battery from the ECU. As a result, battery consumption is controlled.
