  • Patent number: 5542838
Abstract: A quick die change capability is provided to a pellet mill by means of a fixture spider which can be attached to the pelleting die and to the rollers for a unitized roller/die cartridge. By employment of quick acting captive die clamps, as well as push-pull jacks, assembly and dismantling of the die/roller cartridge in the mill is simplified. Three axis adjustability of the fixture spider enhances ease of alignment.

  • Patent number: 5533368
Abstract: The limbs of the spring cage overlie portions of the cylindrical lock chassis. Accordingly, a graduated scale, with Arabic numerals aligned therewith, is inscribed on a portion of the chassis which one of the limbs overlies, and the flat, terminal end of the limb is used to indicate a proper door thickness adjustment. The cage is spring-biased away from the chassis, and retained on a projecting shaft by an adjusting nut threadedly engaged with the shaft. By threadedly moving the nut on the shaft, the cage is moved relative to the shaft and concomitantly, the limb terminal end is selectively aligned with a chosen one of the door thickness-indicating scale lines.

  • Patent number: 5524794
Abstract: A metering device for controlling the flow of granular material from a container. The metering device includes an electromechanical solenoid connected to a pivoting metering bar. When the solenoid is energized, the metering bar is pivoted away from an outlet aperture, permitting the flow of material from the container. When the solenoid is de-energized, a spring causes the metering bar to pivot into contact with the outlet aperture, closing the outlet aperture and stopping the flow of material from the container.

  • Patent number: 5520427
Abstract: A door lever assembly having a locked and an unlocked position includes a trim housing and a lever handle and cam rotatably connected to the trim housing. A rotatable shaft extends between the lever handle and the cam, with the shaft defining a connection groove therethrough to provide access to a shaft interior. The shaft interior is configured to accept a pin for connecting the cam and the shaft. This pin can be wedgably disconnected following controlled slippage of frictional wedge surfaces in response to excessive force applied to rotate the cam.

  • Patent number: 5520506
Abstract: Deflecting vanes, confronting the blades of the impeller-inducer, and fixed in the housing, inhibit the formation of a vortex upstream of the impeller-inducer. Too, the vanes direct the recirculation flow back into the central zone of the pump. The impeller-inducer is force-fed by its own recirculation.

  • Patent number: 5517720
Abstract: A door closer assembly provides a closing force to a door swingably mounted on a door jamb by a pair of arms pivotally attached to the door and the door frame. The door closer assembly has a housing and a spring for providing a closing force on the arm which closes the door when it is an open position. The improvement of the present invention includes a spring cushion device mounted on the housing of the door closer assembly for stopping the opening movement of the door as it reaches a predetermined angle of rotation. The cushion device provides a resilient counteracting force on the arm as the door reaches its predetermined angle of rotation which lessens the wear and tear exerted on the assembly by the opening force of the door.

  • Patent number: 5516161
Abstract: A door lever assembly having a locked and an unlocked position includes a trim housing and a lever handle rotatably connected to the trim housing. A cam is rotatably connected to the trim housing, and a pin mechanism is movably positionable to connect with the lever handle. A slider is attached for movement in the trim housing in response to rotation of the cam, anda lift arm is connected to the slider. The lift arm is rigidly movable with the slider when the door lever assembly is in its unlocked position and the lever handle is rotated. When the door lever assembly is in its locked position, the lift arm pivots toward the cam to disengage the pin mechanism from its connection between the lever handle and the cam.

  • Patent number: 5513467
Abstract: A linear drive power door operator selectively and automatically opens and closes a door swingably mounted on a door jamb. The door operator includes a power screw disposed within a housing and a drive which powers the rotation of the power screw for moving a piston having a threaded bore threadably engaging the power screw linearly upon activation of the drive. A rack having teeth is engaged by the piston for moving the rack linearly from end-to-end. The power door operator further includes a pinion having teeth threadably engaging the teeth of the rack. The pinion is rotatable about a vertical axis upon the side-to-side linear movement of the rack. At least one link arm is pivotally connected at one of its ends to the pinion and pivotally connected at its other end to the door. A control device controls the operation of the drive for moving the door between a closed position and an open position.

  • Patent number: 5511284
Abstract: A door hold open device is disclosed for maintaining a door swingably mounted on a door jamb in an open position. The door hold open device includes an elongate track housing mounted on the door jamb, and a shaft disposed within the track housing. The shaft extends along a horizontal axis and is mounted for free rotation about the axis. A slider block having a threaded bore threadably engages a threaded portion of the shaft. The slider block is capable of moving linearly along the horizontal axis and causes the axial rotational movement of the shaft as it moves linearly from side-to-side. An arm link is pivotally connected at one of its ends to the slider block and pivotally connected at its other end to the door. The arrangement is such that upon manually opening and closing the door, the arm link moves the slider block linearly from side-to-side thereby causing the axial rotational movement of the shaft.

  • Patent number: 5501143
Abstract: A steam injection device for a vertical steam conditioning chamber for particulate material has one or more hollow modules having substantially conical tops and open bottoms arrayed along a support column extending from below the conditioning chamber to a point above the chamber. Steam for conditioning is supplied preferably through the support column in such a way that it uniformly permeates the particles along the height of the conditioning chamber as well as across its cross section. Additionally, by employing modules having other than symmetrically conical tops, it is possible to impart an irregular flow path to the particles being conditioned in the chamber. This permits uniform exposure of the particles to the steam in the conditioning chamber and, thus, promotes uniform conditioning.
