  • Patent number: 6537536
Abstract: An agent for preventing generation of noxious odors in a commode which provides an energy source for bacteria to the exclusion of sulfates for a period of time and comprises a mixture of one of calcium nitrate, CaN2O6, or calcium nitrate tetra hydrate, CaN2O6.4H2O, and ammonium nitrate, NH4NO3. A mixture is prepared using 200-1000 grams of calcium nitrate or 1.37(200-1000) grams of tetra hydrate and 1.25 to 12 grams of ammonium nitrate in de-ionized water having a ph of 5 to 9 to produce one liter of the mixture. A fragrance and a coloring agent may optionally be added. The resulting mixture is then mixed one-half ounce to one liter or one-half gallon of water. This will keep the commode fresh without change for a period of twenty-four to thirty-six hours.

  • Patent number: 6484746
Abstract: A manually operated fuel valve having OFF, ON and RESERVE positions which comprises a valve body with a standpipe extending therefrom for receiving fuel from a fuel tank and supplying fuel to an engine the said valve is in an ON position. the valve body defines a first passage therethrough in communication with the standpipe for permitting passage of fuel to a fuel exit port when the valve is in the ON position. The valve body defines a second passage therethough for fuel to said exit port when the valve is in a RESERVE position. A rotatable fuel regulator member is positioned in the valve body for blocking the second passage when the regulator member is in a valve ON position and permitting passage of fuel through the standpipe and the first passage. The regulator member is effective to block passage of fuel from passing through both of the passages when rotated to an OFF position.

  • Patent number: 6457856
Abstract: A temperature sensitive element within a timepiece which includes a casing, movement, mainspring and a bi-directional rotation to unidirectional rotation converting mechanism for winding the mainspring where the temperature sensitive element tends to angularly deflect with change in temperature and such tendency produces energy to wind the mainspring. More specifically, the invention in one form thereof utilizes a temperature sensitive bimetallic coil, which is restrained from radial deflection and the free end moves to rotate the shaft in the self-winding mechanism and effects self-winding of the timepiece. The free end of the coil will move with change in temperature. The coil is anchored at its inner end and the other end thereof, upon movement, will drive a driver member in the form of an orbit gear. In this embodiment, the orbit gear will drive a plurality of planet gears, which drive a sun gear mounted to a shaft.

  • Patent number: 6450741
Abstract: A fixture for use with a rotary cutting tool for deburring, chamferring or beveling a work piece utilized with a drill comprises a member having opposite sides with a recess defined a first of the sides by two surfaces at right angles to each other to define guide surfaces for a work piece. The opposite side resides in a plane essentially perpendicular to a plane bisecting the angle between the surfaces. A semi-cylindrical recess is defined in the member in the opposite side intermediate the ends thereof about an axis which is essentially perpendicular to a plane bisecting the angle between the surfaces. The passage extends through a portion of the surfaces and defines an opening in the surfaces whereby a rectangular cross section work piece contacting the guide surfaces will extend through the opening into the passage.

  • Patent number: 6346193
Abstract: A method of protecting and improving the quality of water in a body of water which comprises identifying areas of water runoff and/or points of storm water entrance into the body of water and the provision of floating booms to separate a small area(s) of a reservoir where surface and storm water run-off from the water shed or storm water entrance points enter the main body of water. Supported from the booms is a filter curtain of geosynthetic fabric material which is anchored to the floor of the reservoir along the profile of the reservoir floor. The fabric material has small openings in sufficient number to permit passage of a predetermined volume of water per unit time, but small enough to block particulate biodegradable organic particulate matter. The run off or storm discharge contains particulate matter, which is a carrier of microorganisms as small as one micron. The filter curtain prevents passage of the particulate matter and non-organic turbidity causing particles.

  • Patent number: 5804730
Abstract: A single operation, multi-task, non-destructive testing technique of ultrasonic examination for defect detection, analysis and sizing. The technique utilizes the same angle, mode of propagation, calibration, set-up, and scanning patterns, for all materials, thickness of materials, and configuration of components for which it is applicable. The technique is used to detect, analyze and size planar flaws, such as fatigue cracks, which are connected to the surface opposite that from which the ultrasound is propagated. The technique relies on the fact that specular reflections received from flaws that have penetration into materials will return to the transducer before reflections which are associated with geometric features of the surface to which the flaw is connected. It also relies on the properties of the longitudinal mode of sound propagation at a 65-75 degree angle resulting in reduced specular reflections from opposite wall geometric reflectors such as weld roots and counterbores.
