Abstract: An antenna system comprising a plurality of angularly disposed antennae which are selectively actuated to transmit dependent on the directional orientation of the transmitter with respect to a receiving station.
Abstract: A ribbon loudspeaker is suitable for incorporation into a sound reproduction system without additionally requiring a transformer or series resistor. In one form in which the loudspeaker is bi-directional, a sound reproduction ribbon is received in a pair of magnetic gaps formed from a magnetic system employing a single magnet.
Abstract: A new and improved zoom lens comprises four groups. The powers of the groups from the object end to the image end are positive, negative, negative, and positive, respectively. The first group is stationery for zooming but moves for close focusing. The second and third groups move in the same direction for zooming.
Abstract: A method and system for continuously grinding tubing to finished cannulae, where the tubing is loaded in a carrier and the carrier is continuously guided past stations which cut the primary bevel, finish the butt end, clean the cut ends, and then make lancelet cuts on the primary bevel. The system further includes a cannula carrier and guide system which permits the cannulae to be unclamped, rotated and reclamped prior to each lancelet cutting station.
Abstract: A dashpot type door closer having an internal mechanism which will latch the door in an open position when the door is opened a sufficient distance, and which will release the door from a latched open position when the door is moved slightly more in the opening direction. A piston rod having a latching member extends through the internal mechanism and the latching member is pivoted between latched and unlatched positions by the internal mechanism.
Abstract: A method of manufacture of pre-filled ampuls and hypodermic needles where an ampul is formed by injection-moulding and blow-moulding. The ampul is filled with medicaments at the blow-moulding stage and a hypodermic needle is then affixed to the ampul.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for grinding work which dresses a grinding wheel which comprises sensing the surface of the grinding wheel at the finish dimension after the grinding wheel has been advanced in predetermined increments, then retracting the wheel a predetermined distance so that the surface of the grinding wheel is always in the same position prior to initiation of a grinding cycle.
