Abstract: A transport system for charging and delivering right-sign electrostatic toner to an image receiving member includes a toner conveyor having a loading/filtering segment and a delivery, segment. Each segment has a number of parallel electrodes connected to a DC-biased multiphase electric power to establish a traveling electrostatic wave to move toner along the segment. The loading/filtering segment gathers toner from a supply and feeds unipolar toner to the delivery segment. The delivery segment delivers right sign toner to the image receiving member. The traveling wave in the loading/filtering segment moves toner in either a synchronous surfing mode or an asynchronous hunching mode to the delivery segment. The traveling wave in the delivery segment moves toner in an asynchronous hunching mode to the image receiving member.

Abstract: A laser device includes a laser rod; a dielectric coolant tube around the laser rod, forming an annular rod coolant channel; a segmented conductive ring around the coolant tube with laser diodes between adjacent ring segments; the ring segments and laser diodes together forming a current path around the ring; and a sleeve around the ring, forming an annular diode coolant channel.

Abstract: A debris handling device includes a cylindrical barrel with an open top and bottom and an annular ring within the open top. A bag is mounted in the barrel, hanging from and held open by the top rim of the barrel. The bag is releasable, and the barrel upwardly removable from the bag. The annular ring includes a notch to receive the twisted neck of the bag, and a hasp to close over the notch to hold the bag closed and in place so the barrel can be rolled.

Abstract: A tamper and copy protected document includesn array of fine blind holes (or, alternatively, of fine perforations) impressed on the document in areas where specific information is to be imprinted. Imprinting of information on the array of holes (or perforations) results in penetration of ink into the fibrous interior of the document, between its surfaces. A resinous coating, applied over the array and over the imprinted information, also penetrates into the interior to encapsulate the ink. A copy protected document is produced by imprinting it with specific alphanumeric information which includes perforations in the imprinted characters.

Abstract: A direct electrostatic printing process which is insensitive to the polarity of the toner material is disclosed. The donor member of the printing apparatus includes alternate narrow and wide electrodes. The narrow electrodes are electrically pulsed to eject toner of one polarity in proximity with an array of electrically controlled apertures in a printhead, and unused toner are returned to the donor surface with low momentum to avoid dislodgment of other toner from the donor on impact.

Abstract: A recreational vehicle includes a lower body and a vertically telescoping upper body. The upper body includes a second floor, fully suspended when the upper body is raised, and resting on stops when the upper body is lowered. A lift mechanism includes a take up drum, lift line, and pulley system to raise and lower the upper body including the upper portion of the telescopic elevator shaft while telescoping corner posts support and guide its motion. A elevator has bottom and top floors connected by vertical columns and a lift cable extending from the base of each column through top and bottom pulleys of an adjacent corner post to a power take up drum to raise and lower the elevator. A vertically movable bathroom is similarly provided.

Abstract: A hunting arrow includes a shaft with a thin outer coating of an elastomeric material for silent draw and release of the arrow. The coating is preferably of a self lubricating material, with a non-reflective matte surface.

Abstract: Brushing apparatus for cleaning and polishing farm produce includes three rotating cylindrical helical brushes forming a brush channel. The brushes rotate in the same direction but at different speeds to clean and polish the produce, and to "walk" it along the brush channel. The brush bristles are the only things touching the produce, and the sole way by which produce is moved along the brush channel. The brushes and brush channel are adjustable up or down from the horizontal to control the throughput rate of articles of produce.

Abstract: Apparatus for cleaning a rotating process roll includes cleaning material supply and take-up rolls and a compliant touch roll, all mounted on a carriage adjacent to a process roll. Touch roll and cleaning material are moveable by air cylinders into and out of contact with the process roll. The touch roll is rotatable in one direction only with the take-up roll. A drive motor winds the take-up roll to incrementally and uniformly advance the cleaning material over the touch roll. Period and frequency of the cleaning cycle and sub-cycles are variable by microprocessor control. Supply roll and take-up roll are supported on retractable gudgeons for easy mounting and removal.
