Abstract: A holder for a golf ball position marker includes a band to fit on a putter shaft, and a crown on the band to hold the marker. The crown includes opposed pairs of spaced wall segments forming a segmented circulra retaining wall partially surrounding a central cavity. Vertical snap fingers in the spaces between the pairs of wall segments oppose each other across the central cavity. The arcuate walls and the snap fingers together releasably hold the marker in place. The wall segments are higher than, and extend radially outward of, the snap fingers. Bridges connect the pairs of wall segments, over and outward of the snap fingers to protect the snap fingers from unintended opening and breakage.

Abstract: A beach chair bundle includes first, second, third, and fourth panels of terry cloth. The second and third panels are joined by an elastic strip. The second panel is folded up on the first and fastened to it along side edges to form a pouch for a removable pillow. The third panel extends over the pillow pouch and down over the first panel to form an inverted envelope adapted to slip over a chair back. The fourth panel is folded up on the third and fastened to it along side edges to form a utility pocket. A flap cover and fastening strips hold the pocket closed. Tie loops connect the pillow pouch to the utility pocket, through the chair structure, to secure the beach chair bundle to the chair. A fastening strip across the lower exterior of the first panel, and a zipper half across the bottom exterior of the utility pocket provide for attachment of a towel and a bag respectively.

Abstract: A locking mechanism for a double hung window includes a strike bracket and a locking member. The strike bracket attaches to the upper window sash, and has an upstanding locking plate with a vertical series of locking hooks, each extending inward and curling downward and back outward. The locking member attaches to the lower window sash, and has a rotatable clasp with a clasp hook extending outward and curling upward and back inward. The clasp hook selectively engages the locking hooks on an inward and downward line of action to clamp the window sashes together against relative movement, both vertical and horizontal.

Abstract: A hypodermic needle disposal system includes a housing forming an array of parallel cells, each to receive a tube containing a bonding resin. Each tube includes a rupture seal on its front end. A used needle is directed into a tube to pierce its rupture seal and embed itself in resin. When the resin bonds on the needle, the needle and tube are together removed from the cell for disposal. Tubes are restrained from free movement and from sliding out of their cells by a gravity locking engagement with the housing.

Abstract: A camera mounting and quick release mechanism includes a stationary base plate and cover plate, with a movable cam plate captured between them. The base plate includes a first clamping flange extending upward along one side, a spring-loaded lock pin movable into and out of the base plate, and an actuating spring to urge the cam plate in a clamping position. The base plate and cover plate together support cam pins which extend through the cam plate. The cam plate is movable between a clamping position and a release position, and include cam slots for engagement with the cam pins, a lock aperture for locking engagement with the lock pin when the cam plate is in its release position, and a second clamping flange movable with the cam plate relative to the first clamping flange for releasable engagement with a camera dovetail base.

Abstract: A sliding patio door includes a movable panel and a stationary panel, the panels including vertical frame members which overlap when the door is closed. A bolt through one of the vertical frame members engages a nut in the other vertical frame member when the door is closed to draw the frame members together, eliminating clearance between them and locking the panels together against horizontal and vertical movement. The bolt is engaged and disengaged by 90.degree. rotation. When the bolt is disengaged, a captured compression spring keeps it at its open position for convenience.

Abstract: A foldable bucksaw includes an elongated hollow box frame, which is also a blade storage sheath, with left and right handles connected by over center hinges to the ends of the box frame for movement between storage position and operative position. A screw mechanism on one handle is connected to the sawblade to tighten and loosen it. The screw mechanism includes an adjusting screw mounted on the handle and a tensioner nut for connection to the blade. The tensioner nut includes a central threaded aperture, a blade mount portion below it to position the sawblade in line with the adjusting screw, and an upper portion for extension into said saw handle to prevent the tensioner nut from rotating when the adjusting screw is rotated and while the blade is in use.

Abstract: A dental mirror includes a handle with an enclosure head on the end. The enclosure has a cover which is partially mirrored and partially transparent, a light source within it, and a concave reflector around the light source to reflect light through the transparent portion of the cover, the reflected light converging in front of the mirror. Heat from the light source keeps the mirror free of fogging.

Abstract: A game projectile includes a hub and four gripping arms extending from it at 90.degree. angles in a crossed configuration. The hub and arms include a cover enclosing a body of filler material to form a firm cushion. The arms are about seven inches long and two inches thick for gripping, throwing, and catching. Two of the adjacent arms contrast visually with the other two.

Abstract: A card game for educational exposure to selected art topics at apprentice, journeyman, and master levels on each topic, includes a deck of cards for each level of play and for each art topic. Each deck includes an Art Man card and a duplicate set of cards, each including a pictorial representation of a work of art. The cards for play at the apprentice and journeyman levels each also identify of the works represented on them. Play is as follows: The deck is distributed among the players. The dealer tables any and all matching pairs in his hand while reciting the name and origin of each work of art represented, takes one card from the player on his side opposite the progression of play, and similarly tables a pair if one results from this taking.

Abstract: A drinking vessel with an ice container mountable within the vessel to cool the vessel contents without diluting it, and a heat chamber for burning fuel to heat the vessel contents. The ice container is removably mounted in the vessel by magnetic members, or by snap engaging members, or by mating threads on the vessel and the container.

Abstract: A toothpaste dispenser includes a base plate and a shorter cover plate connected at their back ends by a hinge. The front end of the base plate is supported by a stand which also forms a cradle for the upper end of a tube of toothpaste. Pressure on the cover plate dispenses toothpaste from a portion of the tube until that portion is substantially flat. The flattened portion is then doubled over and the tube repositioned in the dispenser. The flattened portion is thereby sealed against reentry of toothpaste, and pressure on the cover plate now dispenses from the next higher portion of the tube.

Abstract: A low pressure air pump includes an outer flexible envelope which encloses an articulate frame. When the envelope is manually compressed against a smooth surface, an intake aperture on the bottom side of the envelope is sealed and air is forced out of the pump. When pressure is released from the pump, the frame returns the envelope to its uncompressed state and, in so doing, opens the intake aperture to take in more air.

Abstract: A system for mounting, removal, and storage of a snowplow includes a caster removably mounted on the rear crossbar of the plow A-frame. The caster shaft is threaded for adjustability of the vertical position of the crossbar. Front wheels are removably mounted on the right and left ends of the plow blade.

Abstract: A refuse chute for mounting on the inside of a sink cabinet door includes a backboard, inner and outer sidewalls extending forward of the backboard, an inclined ramp extending downward from the backboard between the inner and outer sidewalls; and a stop to limit the swing of the door and chute relative to the receptacle. The chute is in operative position relative to the receptacle when the door is partially open, and refuse dropped on the ramp is guided into the receptacle. An upstanding central vane on the ramp helps to make even distribution in the receptacle.

Abstract: A combination catamaran boat and cross water ski system includes left and right hulls, a bridging deck, and a steering system. Each hull includes a rudder in its keel portion and a rudder plate on its top, connected by a rudder shaft for pivotal movement. A footpiece on each rudder plate is for a skier's feet. The steering system includes a tiller above the deck connected to a tiller lever system below the deck, and a rudder crossbar connecting the tiller lever system to the rudder plates on the hulls. The left and right hulls are separable from the deck and steering system, and convertible to use as right and left cross water skis respectively. Ski poles each include a handle with an upper portion and laterally offset lower portion, and a pontoon.

Abstract: A system of surface tiles for flooring or the like, and the method of their installation. The tiles each include a backing board, a number of spaced parallel stationary slats fixed on the backing board, and a longitudinally movable slat in each space between successive stationary slats and dovetailed between them. The movable slats are movable to stagger their ends relative to the ends of the stationary slats, and to extend from one tile to the next to interlock the tiles. Tiles are installed by: a. placing a number of tiles in a longitudinal row; b. moving the movable slats of a single working tile to desired staggered positions relative to the stationary slats; c. cutting the working tile transversely into tow end pieces; d. placing one of the end pieces on one end of the row with its cut edge outward of the row; e. moving the movable slats of the row to fill empty spaces between stationary slats; and f.

Abstract: The disclosed hypodermic syringe includes a syringe barrel, a needle extending from the barrel, a movable safety sleeve surrounding the barrel, and a sleeve cap to cover the forward end of the sleeve. The syringe barrel includes a forward detent, an intermediate detent, and a rear detent, and the safety sleeve includes an inner ring for selective engagement with the detents. The safety sleeve is axially movable on the syringe barrel from an initial transport position on the intermediate detent, to a retracted position on the rear detent to expose the needle, and to a locked safety position on the forward detent. The sleeve cap is held on the safety sleeve by friction when the sleeve is in the transport position, and by positive engagement with the safety sleeve when the sleeve is in the locked safety position.

Abstract: A mobile radiation monitor includes a radiation detector unit and a signal analyzer connected to it. The radiation detector unit includes a base, a flat pad radiation scintillation detector on the base, and a bridging platform connected to the base and extending over the radiation scintillation detector to provide a walkway over it. Radiation from a subject on the bridging platform, producing an effect in the scintillator, is monitored at the signal analyzer. The radiation detector unit includes handles for mobility and anti-slip pads for safety.

Abstract: A jigsaw puzzle includes outer straight edge pieces forming a rectangular puzzle perimeter; a number of interior straight edge pieces suggesting an interior rectangle and increasing the proportion of the number of straight edge pieces to the total number of pieces in the puzzle; and a number of joiner pieces, some of the joiner pieces crossing the bounary of the interior polygon, and others of the joiner pieces at positions remote from the boundary.
