  • Patent number: 4531515
Abstract: An adjustable orthopedic exterior hinge brace has an upper brace extension pivotally connected to a lower brace extension, with structure limiting relative pivoting of the extensions in both directions comprising a limiting member attached at one point of the inner end of one of the extensions so that when the other extension pivots it contacts said limiting member to the restricted in further pivotal movement in a first rotational direction, and a second limiting member mounted at a second point about the inner end of an extension so that when the lower extension pivots in the opposite direction its further pivotal movement is blocked by the second limiting member, with there being structure to allow the positions of the two limiting members to be adjusted to different positions about the extensions so that the degree of arcuate movement of the two extensions relative to each other can be adjusted to a variety of positions depending upon the placement of the limiting members, and in the preferred embodiment

  • Patent number: 4530515
Abstract: An air ride, high axle lift tandem comprising two stub-axle mountings each with an air spring and a hydraulic cylinder to lift the stub axle and all mounted upon a single pedestal in a manner to be so compact and simple as to enable the entire assembly to be sold as a unit as, for example, in a kit.

  • Patent number: 4528829
Abstract: A key retaining multiple lock mechanism, suitable for parcel lockers and other structures and capable of being mounted on doors for such structures, has a first lock with a first key trapping tumbler mechanism. The first lock has a strike-engaging tongue and a spring loaded bolt cooperating with a second lock dead bolt structure. The dead bolt is operated by a second key to extend and retract the dead bolt. When extended, the dead bolt compresses the spring-loaded bolt when the mechanism is in a locked condition and acts as a stop when the mechanism is in the unlocked condition, preventing relocking of the structure without first retracting the dead bolt with the second key.

  • Patent number: 4529224
Abstract: A suspension assembly for supporting a vehicle chassis from at least one vehicle axle has a pair of outrigger bracket members extending into the wheel house area of the chassis, a bolster beam bolted to the axle with outrigger members extending into the wheel house area of the chassis and aligned with the outrigger brackets, and an air spring mounted and extending between each of the outrigger members and brackets to provide a suspension with an increased lateral distance between the spring members on opposite sides of the vehicle. Parallelogram stabilization of each axle is provided by a torque rod mounted at the point of attachment of the bolster beam to the axle with a torque rod having an offset and extending forwardly to a hanger assembly mounted in offset fashion to avoid interference with the vertical deflection of the bolster beam.

  • Patent number: 4528489
Abstract: A remote control circuit for a hard wired remote control controlling multiple functions in a multiple motor device has a reduced number of wires extending between the hand held control and the motor control circuit. The circuit includes a rectifier for generating a positive control voltage and a negative control voltage which are separately supplied along individual wires to the hand held control, and a single wire extending between the hand held control and the control circuit for each function, the voltage appearing along the wire designating the direction of movement of the function. A pair of parallel connected LEDs sense the polarity of the voltage and energize a triac corresponding to the polarity of the voltage appearing along the control wire to energize the proper winding of a reversible motor.

  • Patent number: 4525664
Abstract: An electronic hand held fuse tester includes an elongated handle member to facilitate grasping of the device during use, a housing member integrally formed at one end of the handle, the housing member enclosing an electronic test circuit with light emitting diodes mounted to a PC board, the PC board mounted within the housing to a pair of pivotally mounted contact members, the contact members adapted to contact the ends of the fuse to be tested, and fixtures at the other end of the handle member to facilitate removal and insertion of replacement fuses.

  • Patent number: 4512233
Abstract: A pitch adjuster for a valved brass instrument having a tuning slide crook for selectively operating the tuning slide crook between a normal position, a preselected inward position, and a preselected outward position, to raise or lower the note played. The pitch adjuster comprises a main rod mounted to the tuning slide crook and slideably mounted in a ring to the instrument. Stops on the rod limit the inward and outward movement of the rod and tuning slide crook to predetermined positions, by engaging the ring. The outer end of a spring is engaged on the rod and the inner end is engaged by a collar which is held from inward motion from the normal position, so that the spring is compressed when the rod and crook move inward and exerts an outward restorative force on the rod only when the rod is in inward from a normal position. An auxiliary rod is mounted on the inward side of the collar, parallel to the main rod.
