  • Patent number: 4397806
Abstract: The method and apparatus for the injection of an injection material into a mold includes an upright extruder mechanism having an upright feed screw driven from its lower end. Material introduced at the top of the extruder is fed by the screw outwardly of the extruder through an outlet projected laterally outwardly from the extruder at a position adjacent the lower end of the screw. The extruder outlet constitutes a piston receivable with a cylindrical material chamber of an injection nozzle unit. Material is fed in one direction in incremental amounts from the extruder and into the material chamber when the extruder is moved in one direction relative to the injection nozzle unit, and is then forced from the material chamber by the extruder outlet and into the nozzle unit for injection into a mold when the extruder is moved in an opposite direction relative to the nozzle unit.

  • Patent number: 4375888
Abstract: The golf ball receiving apparatus includes a net structure for enclosing a liquid filled container having a flexible front wall facing an open side of the net structure and constituting a ball target. The impact force applied on the front wall displaces liquid within the container in volume amounts proportional to the magnitude of the impact force. The displaced liquid is confined for movement into an accumulator chamber associated with an operator member, movable in response to the volume of displaced liquid, and directed to actuate a transfer member which transmits the magnitude of the impact force to a drive indicating gauge or scale. After striking the target, the driven balls are directed into a receptacle that is manually movable to deliver the balls to a collection area for reuse or for feeding into a practice driving machine.

  • Patent number: 4347212
Abstract: Separable mold sections of a tire forming machine are brought together to form a tire cavity within which a preformed tire band is expandable against the inner surface of the cavity side wall. During the tire shaping operation, air is forced by the expanding tire band from the cavity and into the atmosphere, through valve controlled air passages having terminal ends open to the cavity side wall. As the expanding tire band moves into conforming engagement with the inner surface of the cavity side wall, the final residual air in the cavity is forced therefrom concurrently with valves at the passage terminal ends being engaged and moved by the expanding tire band to passage closing positions wherein the valves form a smooth surface continuous with the inner surface of the tire cavity.

  • Patent number: 4343513
Abstract: The method and power transmission system of this invention for driving a road planar machine has the cutter unit in a positive mechanical drive with the drive shaft of a machine power unit through a hydraulically actuated clutch mechanism. The wheel traction units for the machine are continuously driven from the power unit by hydraulic motors operated by variable volume displacement pumps. A control system for retaining the power unit at a set rotational speed required for a predetermined cutting or planing load is responsive to a drop in the set rotational speed, resulting from the cutting unit encountering an overload, to actuate the variable displacement pumps to decrease the forward speed of the machine without appreciably reducing the rotational inertia force of the cutting unit. If the cutting unit overload is of a short duration or momentary the set rotational speed of the power unit is resumed.
