Abstract: A heat reducing slot that is part of a saw blade that includes tips that will house carbide or other tips that are to be attached through a torch or induction. Heat reducing slots repeat for each tip on the perimeter of a blade that will be treated with high heat. For each tip, there is a general area defined near the seat and groove of the tip. In this general area a slot is inserted that has the effect of reducing the amount of heat needed to be applied to the blade for the attachment of carbide or other tips.

Abstract: An improved slot for a circular saw blade that reduces thermal cracking that occurs during the use of the blade. The slot extends from the peripheral edge of the blade in a vertical direction toward the center of the blade. It has an initial channel that takes a slight curve as it extends toward the center of the blade, but remains in a substantially vertical orientation until it terminates in a curve that is convex when viewed from the peripheral edge toward the center hole. The curve extends in both directions away from the channel portion. The first curve extends at a length that is longer than the length of the second curve. The curve does not complete a circle, but resembles a circle that has had been snipped at one point and one side hangs down below the other. Each curve terminates in an aperture.

Abstract: A wrench for handling a fastener, involving an elongated member with a proximal end and a distal end, a step pad being disposed proximate the elongated member proximal end and for providing additional torque, and an adapter being disposed proximate the elongated member distal end. The adapter may include an element, such as a socket member and a ratchet member. The elongated member distal end may include a tool member.

Abstract: A device that can be used as an advertising display device, an information display device or as a shade or screen that has novel ways to charge the sheet retraction spring, novel ways to prevent tampering with the charge on the spring once the device in operation and that may utilize a pull bar which allows identification of information on the sheet while in a rolled-up state without an additional label.

Abstract: An improved dental prop that is formed of a slim, cylindrical configuration for bilateral access with voided areas on either end for the purpose of aiding in the comfort of the patient by allowing the patient's jaw to relax during lengthy dental procedures, while effectively articulating the mouth in an open position. The prop contains a safety line eyelet, perpendicular to the center of the cylindrical body, thereby allowing a dentist an extra precautionary step toward the safety of the patient in the case of ingestion or aspiration.

Abstract: The present invention provides a single-use applicator for spreadable, usually waxy, paste, or crème-type cosmetics compositions. The applicator includes two parts, a generally cylindrical first part having a coating of cosmetic composition at one end, and a generally cylindrical second part which functions as a cover for the cosmetic composition. The cosmetic coated end of the first part slides into an open end of the second part, such that the second part covers and protects the coating. For use, the second part cover can be readily removed and the cosmetic composition applied to the user's lips or other desired location.

Abstract: A composition and method of use therefor that allows for permanent straightening or curl of human hair that is not irritating to the skin, that does not have an obnoxious odor, that is significantly less damaging to hair, that allows for the immediate shampooing of hair thereafter and that provides for re-treatment of the hair without additional damage, primarily using urea and high temperatures to break and reform disulfide bonds as a means to allow for the penetration of low molecular weight proteins into the shaft of the hair.

Abstract: A wire organizer providing an accommodation for power supplies, an attractive and compact compartment, and an easy and unlimited variety of adaptations to suit the user's purpose, having an attractive top cover and a functional main panel on which a multiplicity of hook and loop fasteners have been placed in strategic positions, so as to retain in a neat and organized fashion a multiplicity of wires and cords, power supplies and power strips, all having mating hook and loop fasteners to connect to those of the main panel, and a means by which the organizer may be hung either vertically or horizontally.

Abstract: A device for managing a retractable sheet that is wound on a roller by the action of a spring that may be extended by pulling on the exposed edge of the sheet wherein the device is used for printing messages thereon or for obscuring the view of nearby items. The device is easily changeable for multiple uses as the roller containing the sheet is separable from the main unit, allowing reuse of the more complex and expensive components of the device. A brake on the device prevents the spring from unwinding when the roller is removed. A damping mechanism limits the retraction speed of the sheet, which the damping mechanism being disengaged when the sheet is being pulled out. A cover is provided to obscure the main part of the unit and to prevent tampering. A unique slot configuration allows for easy, tamper-resistant installation of a header card. A pull tab is made of inexpensive components and is designed to allow for easy placement of a graphic label.

Abstract: An improved side loading garbage truck that includes an improved packing method that utilizes a packing blade that doubles as the hopper cover, that includes its hydraulic cylinders outside the body of the truck, does not have any potential leak points inside the body and includes all grease points outside the body providing easier access to the cylinders, blade and grease points for maintenance and installation. The other improvement is the use of multi-point contact rollers thereby reducing wear and tear and extending the life of the side loader arm.

Abstract: A hand accessory designed to harness power from strong areas of the hand and channel stress away from weaker areas by means of anchors pressing into tough fleshy areas with connecting structure capable of leveraging a handle away from sensitive bony areas, relocating fleshy areas into supporting and insulating positions, preventing bone bruises and widening the effective grip of the hand for greater control while augmenting the hand's range of motion especially in swinging a baseball bat.

Abstract: A ring insert for an air intake conduit for an internal combustion engine comprising a sleeve-shaped body which is tightly mounted within the air intake conduit. The body has an inner surface which includes an annular surface in the shape of a truncated cone defining an annular inclined surface that is narrower at the forward edge of the body than at the rearward edge forming a venturi directly adjacent the rearward edge. The forward edge of the body is smoothly contoured and the rearward edge of the body is smoothly contoured.

Abstract: An all-in-one hand tool for the alignment of a vehicle wheel with predetermined lug bolt/nut patterns for specific manufacturers. The tool has pre-formed adapters that protrude from one side of the hand-held plate that attach to specific lug nut/bolt patterns on vehicle wheels. The other side of the hand-held plate allows for an alignment instrument to slide thereon. The instrument is highly accurate as it is pre-welded and does not need to be adjusted to the wheel. The plate is not clamped on to the wheel allowing for preservation of wheel covers and greater accuracy.

Abstract: A system and device therefor that provides a large vehicle the ability to house up to ten bicycles on the bumper of the vehicle wherein the device is retractable against the vehicle when not in use and that provides a fast and easy way to load and unload the bicycles. The device includes a main frame portion with two support arms on either side. Each support arm has variable height options. Attached to each support are one or more springed grips with one end of each springed grip having two crescent-shaped hooks for attachment around the handlebars of a bicycle and on the other end is a j-shaped hook for attachment around the seat post of a bicycle.

Abstract: A leveling device that facilitates quick and precise placement of laser beams at a standardized distance from the surfaces against which it bears for the purpose of establishing plumb and level reference lines. It includes a mounting platform that includes various methods of bearing and attachment, including a telescoping pole that includes various features for deployment and stabilization. While the device can be used as a conventional level, it is specifically designed to be temporarily attached to vertical surfaces by a variety of methods, enabling all the advantages of laser use for the operation of plumb alignment, and also eliminating the need for a full time attendant.

Abstract: Systems and methods for hand hygiene compliance management include a hand-held personal liquid dispenser including a pump and pump plunger that dispenses liquid from a reservoir inside the dispenser when depressed. The dispenser includes circuitry that detects and records each depression of the plunger, and a port for connection to an external computer to transfer data such as identifiers for the dispenser and its user, and time and date of dispenser usage. A compliance system includes scheduling, training and education in the use of such dispensers, and data collection to track compliance with desired dispenser usage standards. The system may include receivers, transmitters and transceivers to detect and record hand hygiene opportunities, as in patient-occupied areas in a hospital, and transmit personal dispenser usage and other data to a computer.

Abstract: A uniquely designed drain cover for swimming pools, spas, whirlpools and the like that is non-flat and clover shaped containing three or more “leaves” that provides for strengthened rigidity, increased protection against hair and body entrapment and that is connected to the sump through ribs that run across the body of the drain cover that allow for securing the drain cover to the sump through these ribs in addition to the perimeter providing for greater anti-deflection properties and anti-vortexing properties. Apertures found on the surface of the cover and along the perimeter add to the anti-deflection and anti-vortexing properties of the cover.
