  • Patent number: 7020704
Abstract: A system and method for distributing digital media assets to a plurality of users. A portal is provided comprising at least one server computer. The portal executes a media library database server application that manages access a master library of media assets that can be accessed by users via one or more communication networks. A plurality of media player devices communicate with the portal to access media assets for use. Each media player device may comprise a processor that executes a database client application that manages media assets licensed for use by a user.

  • Patent number: 7016963
Abstract: A transformation engine that enables content and information to be transformed from one format, a source format, to a format that is compatible with the requesting device, a destination format. Advantageously, various device types can access and share content via a network without concern as to the original format of the content. When a client device provides a request for content, the transformation engine identifies delivery characteristics of the client device, and identifies a source for the requested content. The transformation engine then transforms the source formatted content into a format identified through a best fit analysis of the delivery characteristics of the device.

  • Patent number: 7007113
Abstract: The transmission of image data through a network or other transmission medium is bandwidth intensive. To help reduce the amount of bandwidth utilized for the transmission of image data, compression algorithms are used. However, even once compressed, if a large amount of image data is being transferred, such as in a multimode network that shares graphic intensive information (i.e., the world wide web) bandwidth can be at a premium. The present invention provides a technique for receiving multiple image files from multiple sources and applying further compression, or recompression to help alleviate the bandwidth constraints. The present invention operates to further compress image files on-the-fly so that processing delays for the retransmission of the image files are limited. To effectuate the on-the-fly re-compression, image structures to indicate the status of re-compressing the various image files are maintained.

  • Patent number: 6985480
Abstract: A framework system serves to translate calls between dissimilar networks. More specifically, the framework system serves to translate calls between dissimilar packet networks and/or between a packet switch network and the public switched telephone network. The system includes a media engine module for terminating and handling channels of data transmitted between the networks in real time. An administrator module provides control and management interfaces for controlling processing applied to each channel. A conduit module serves to enable the distribution of software throughout the framework system allowing the distributed software to use interprocessor communication mechanism in the system. Optionally, a signaling engine module serves to provide access to call control information for connection between two networks.

  • Patent number: 6974166
Abstract: An adjustable bumper system that can be easily attached to a vehicle and removed and replaced if damaged. The bumper system includes housings that are mounted to the rails of the vehicle. The housings are independently mounted and thus can be mounted to any vehicle regardless of the spacing of the rails. A vertically extending member is attached to the housing and includes a face plate that is operable to receive a bracket. The bracket and the face plate are used to attach a step portion of the bumper assembly. The combination of the housing and the mounting brackets allow for a bumper system that can be universally mounted to any trailer or vehicle.

  • Patent number: 6962378
Abstract: A fully adjustable bumper system that absorbs impact and thereby, avoiding damage to the bumper. The bumper system includes a bumper assembly mounted to a vertically pivoting assembly through horizontally and vertically adjustable assemblies. A stop assembly is attached to the vertically pivoting assembly and allows the bumper assembly to pivot away from an applied force and then causes the bumper assembly to return to its position with the force is removed. The bumper system can be bolted, welded or otherwise fixedly attached to either the frame or rails of a trailer or truck for ease of installation.

  • Patent number: 6961554
Abstract: A desensitized bias circuit for a power amplifier includes, in one embodiment, a notch filter incorporated into the bias circuit. The notch filter behaves as a resonant circuit at the operating frequency of the power amplifier, thus coupling to ground any RF energy that migrates from the power amplifier input to the bias circuitry. The notch filter acts as a virtual ground to couple any RF energy present in the bias circuit to ground. Various implementations of the bias circuitry including the notch filter can be used. In other embodiments, the invention includes phase cancellation circuitry in the bias circuit to suppress any RF energy in the bias circuit.

  • Patent number: 6928696
Abstract: The invention includes a clasp that can be mounted to the roller track of an overhead door and a shim that can be mounted to the overhead door or the shaft of the roller. The clasp includes a portion for attaching to the roller track and a blocking portion that is secured in proximate location to the inner surface of the overhead door. When the overhead door is in a closed position, the shim and the blocking portion are engaged thereby encouraging the overhead door towards the door frame. Multiple clasp and shim assemblies can be mounted to the overhead door to improve the seal between the overhead door and the door frame.
