Abstract: A method for controlling a user station configured for communications with a multiplicity of independently-operated data sources via a non-proprietary network includes steps for providing a user interface to enable a user at the user station to select multiple ones of the multiplicity of independently-operated data object sources to be polled; automatically polling each of the selected data object sources in order to determine availability of desired data at each of the selected data object sources; and automatically transporting desired data determined to be available from each of the selected data object sources to the user station. Software and a user station for implementing the method are also described.
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a system and method for providing an interoperable communications system including a plurality of otherwise disjunct communication systems each including at least one communications device. The system includes a plurality of system interface controllers each coupled to one of the communication systems and a common network for connecting the communication system and associated communications devices to the common network. A controller is coupled to each of the system interface controllers. The system interface controller being operable in response to commands from an authorized controller wherein the connection between each of the communication systems and the common network is controlled by a controller associated with, and authorized to control each communication system.
Abstract: A high-resolution image device that is used to receive images in a variable depth of field environment may include a color image sensor, a panchromatic image sensor, and a measuring device. The color image sensor may be configured to receive a color image of an object. Similarly, a synchronous panchromatic image may be received by the panchromatic image sensor. To generate a fine spatial color image with higher resolution than the image received by the color image sensor, the image device may be configured to replace a luminance component from the original color image with a luminance component from the panchromatic image. However, due to a spatial difference between apertures of the color and panchromatic image sensors, parallax error may occur due to a perceived shift of the imaged object against a reference background in the color and panchromatic images.
Abstract: A system, method, and computer program product are provided for invoking an operation to change a current data row of a table in a local database. As a result, a pending change data row is inserted in the table, distinguished by a primary key comprising a common key value and a pending change indicator. The pending change is then submitted for synchronization.

Abstract: Methods and systems for loop-through for multi-band TV tuners and set-top box and/or TV set applications are disclosed and may include generating master and slave output signals from one or more low-noise amplifiers including master and slave stages. The master and slave stages may include parallel-coupled gain paths. Gate terminals and source terminals of input transistors for the master and slave stages may be directly coupled. The input transistors for the master and slave stages may share an inductor coupled to the source terminals and to ground. The master and slave stages may include cascode stages. VHF and UHF signals may be amplified in the multi-band receiver. The generated master output signal may be processed in the multi-band receiver, and may be utilized to generate I and Q output signals. A plurality of the slave output signals may be summed and communicated to a receiver external to the multi-band receiver.
Abstract: The present invention throttles notifications to a user based on changes in particular state values. A computer-implemented method manages notifications of changes to one or more settings of an application. The method includes: displaying a first notification of a change of a setting to a value; updating a count of notifications displayed for the value; and throttling a subsequent notification of a subsequent change of the setting to the value if the count exceeds a threshold.
Abstract: A method, computer program product, and system are provided for controlling a clock distribution network. For example, an embodiment of the method can include programming a predetermined delay time into a plurality of processing elements and controlling an activation and de-activation of these processing elements in a sequence based on the predetermined delay time. The processing elements are located in a system incorporating the clock distribution network, where the predetermined delay time can be programmed in a control register of a clock gate control circuit residing in the processing element. Further, when controlling the activation and de-activation of the processing elements, this activity can be controlled with a state machine based on the system's mode of operation.

Abstract: Methods and systems for vector combining power amplification are disclosed herein. In one embodiment, a plurality of signals are individually amplified, then summed to form a desired time-varying complex envelope signal. Phase and/or frequency characteristics of one or more of the signals are controlled to provide the desired phase, frequency, and/or amplitude characteristics of the desired time-varying complex envelope signal. In another embodiment, a time-varying complex envelope signal is decomposed into a plurality of constant envelope constituent signals. The constituent signals are amplified equally or substantially equally, and then summed to construct an amplified version of the original time-varying envelope signal. Embodiments also perform frequency up-conversion.

Abstract: Methods and systems for processing video data are provided herein. Aspects of the method may comprise receiving on a chip, a plurality of video frames and storing a portion of the received video frames in a memory on the chip. A first portion of the stored video frames may be decoded on the chip and a second portion of the stored video frames may be encoded on the chip during the decoding. A third portion of the stored video frames may be converted from an input video format to a YUV video format. A reference frame corresponding to the converted third portion may be identified from the stored video frames. After conversion, the converted third portion of the received video frames may be utilized as the reference frame for estimating/encoding, or compensating/decoding temporal motion of the subsequently received video frames.
Abstract: Embodiments for a method and apparatus of selecting a transmission mode between the subscriber and a base station are disclosed. One method includes determining a predictive window. Instantaneous channel quality measurements are averaged, wherein the averaging is dependent upon a size of the predictive window. A first estimate of the transmission mode is determined based on the averaged instantaneous channel quality measurements. A margin is calculated based on reception of a qualifying downlink transmission. The transmission mode is selected by updating the first estimate with the margin.

Abstract: A system and method forward data between processing elements. A first processing element includes an address register that stores a first memory address. A forwarding storage element is coupled to the first processing element. A second processing element, coupled to the forwarding storage element, transmits a second memory address to the forwarding storage element. The forwarding storage transmits the second memory address to the first processing element, and the first processing element compares the second memory address with the first memory address.
