  • Patent number: 8056191
Abstract: A lightweight, secure, and low profile adjustable locking buckle has a first steel loop which overlies a second steel loop with a rear member spaced from a front member by two side members. The first loop front member has a forward projection which extends frontwardly and is dimensioned to fit within a central opening in the second loop. Each side member of the second loop has a ramped portion, such that the front member is spaced upwardly from the rear member. A fixed strap encircles the rear portions of the first loop and the second loop and is fixed to a supporting element. An adjustable strap extends beneath the first loop front portion and the second loop front portion, turns over the first loop forward projection and beneath the second loop front portion to be releasably secured to itself. Side tabs may be formed on the loops to facilitate adjustment.

  • Patent number: 8048269
Abstract: A forming section has a lower wire loop (11), which constitutes a single-wire section (T) following a breast roll (12). A first dewatering zone (Z1) has at least one stationary, first forming shoe (40) followed by a pulsating strip cover (50). The first forming shoe has leading and trailing edges and underpressure affecting through holes of the cover. The holes are openings or slots substantially in the longitudinal direction of the machine, whereby non-pulsating dewatering is applied on the stock travelling on top of the lower wire. A pulp suspension jet is fed from a headbox (30) at an impact point after the shoe leading edge. The cover is straight at least in the area between the impact point of the pulp suspension jet and the trailing edge. The impact of the pulp suspension jet on the forming wire is thus better controlled in a better way, increasing production speed.

  • Patent number: 8028468
Abstract: A bait station system has a bait station mounted to a base. The bait station has the general shape of a box with a locking hinged lid. The box has side walls with openings so that rodents can enter into the box and gain access to poison bait or a mechanical trap. The base has a lower tray for receiving a weight. The lower tray has a lower surface which may be glued, attached by a screw, bolt, or earth anchor to a planar surface. The bait station is releasably mounted to the base by a locking mechanism which can be unlocked only by gaining access to the interior of the box forming the bait station.

  • Patent number: 8028648
Abstract: A rod cradle for a film, coating, or dam rod includes a frame profile (12) equipped with an insert groove (14), an insert (16) fitted into the insert groove, and the insert having a rod groove (18) and a rod (28) therein. The device has locking elements (24) for locking the insert (16) into the frame profile (12). There are, on the sides of the insert groove, edges (20) through which the insert passes into the insert groove when the rod is not present. On the sides of the rod groove (16) there are opposing lips (22). The lips (22) have vertices (74) through which the rod (28) can pass without damage to the rod or the insert so that the rod can be inserted in to the rod groove (18) and lock the insert (16) in the insert groove (14) of the frame profile.

  • Patent number: 8011115
Abstract: A fiber-web machine dryer section has a drying group with single-wire draw so the drying wire (F) presses the web (W) against heated cylinder surfaces with the web (W) at the side of the outside curve of reversing cylinders (11) situated between drying cylinders (10, 12). A pocket space (T) is formed between two adjacent drying cylinders (10) and a reversing cylinder (11) situated between them, and the drying wire (F). A negative pressure component (20) placed in the pocket space (T) creates a pressure difference over the drying wire (F) and the web (W) for attaching the web (W) to the drying wire (F) so the cross-direction shrinkage of the web (W) is controllable. The wire tension (F) is maintained at a level help control cross-direction shrinkage of the web. The pocket space (T) is sealed by sealing members (25, 26) to maintain negative pressure in the pocket space.

  • Patent number: 7992648
Abstract: A firefighting apparatus on a small all-terrain utility vehicle has a U-shaped water tank closely spaced from the driver's cab. A reel for a high-pressure hose is mounted in the U of the water tank. A high-pressure engine driven pump is connected to the reel and a high-pressure hose through a water management system, which directs water from the water tank to the pump, and from the pump to the hose. The pump has a pressure valve which sets the engine idle when the high-pressure water nozzle is closed. A pressure unloader valve recirculates water from the pump outlet to the pump inlet when the nozzle is closed. A check valve is used between the water tank and a point where water recirculates to the pump. A prefilter is connected between the check valve and the water tank.

  • Patent number: 7935179
Abstract: A method and apparatus for exhausting gas from a coating material. The coating material is fed in the bottom part area of a drum (3) rotating around an essentially vertical axis inside a vacuum tank (1), whereby the rotating motion of the drum causes the coating material to rise up the inner wall of the drum and to discharge from the upper edge of the drum as a thin film against the inner wall of a vacuum tank, wherefrom the coating material flows downwards. The coating material is arranged to rise up the wall of the drum stepwise, so that the coating material will form a thin veil-like film on at least two different step levels (10-12), whereupon the gas bubbles in the coating material will break and be discharged from the coating material.

  • Patent number: 7932922
Abstract: In a web-forming machine, a threading tail is formed from the web. The threading tail is transferred to the production section (10, 12-14) of the web-forming machine including a draw section (21). Monitoring takes place of both the formation of the threading tail and its transfer to the draw point (21). The holding point (24) and its environment that terminates the tail threading of the production section (10, 12-14) in question are additionally monitored, in order to detect the threading tail at the holding point (24) and thus to determine the success of the tail threading.

  • Patent number: 7913499
Abstract: A heat exchanger having a plurality of heat exchanging aluminum fins with hydrophilic condensing surfaces which are stacked and clamped between two cold plates. The cold plates are aligned radially along a plane extending through the axis of a cylindrical duct and hold the stacked and clamped portions of the heat exchanging fins along the axis of the cylindrical duct. The fins extend outwardly from the clamped portions along approximately radial planes. The spacing between fins is symmetric about the cold plates, and are somewhat more closely spaced as the angle they make with the cold plates approaches 90°. Passageways extend through the fins between vertex spaces which provide capillary storage and communicate with passageways formed in the stacked and clamped portions of the fins, which communicate with water drains connected to a pump externally to the duct. Water with no entrained air is drawn from the capillary spaces.
