  • Patent number: 7861972
Abstract: An object is deployed from an aircraft using gravity extraction of the object with the aid of a small parachute. The object is restrained in the fore and aft directions on either side of the center of gravity by fore and aft loading chains which hold the object to a loading deck. The chains are attached to the object by pear shaped rings mounted to a load plate. The load plate is supported on a lower attachment plate mounted to the object and is attached by a pin to an upper attachment plate also mounted to the object. Pulling the pin causes the load plate to rotate about a hinge formed on the lower attachment plate followed by release of the load plate from the lower attachment plate and the object to be deployed.

  • Patent number: 7836964
Abstract: An all-terrain fire fighting apparatus has a high power-to-weight ratio, a hydraulic skid steer drive system, a drive-by-wire control system, a proportionally joystick controlled nozzle turret, and a 1500 psi foam injecting water supply system which supplies the nozzle turret and a high-pressure hose mounted on a reel. To dissipate heat load from the fire fighting apparatus systems, the fire fighting apparatus cooling system employs a cooling shroud in the form of a box with multiple system radiators stacked on one face of the box and the remaining faces containing exhaust fans mounted to draw air out of the box and through the stacked heat exchangers. The fire fighting apparatus is capable of being operated remotely by means of onboard GPS, real-time imaging, and inputs to the joystick controller and fire fighting apparatus drive-by-wire system.

  • Patent number: 7836856
Abstract: A water heater has a burner positioned below a vertical centrally located flue with heat exchange capacity enhanced by a multiplicity of rectangular metal fins which are welded on the inside of the vertical central flue. The central flue extends upwardly within a water tank. The central flue transitions to a smaller diameter downwardly draining helically coiled condensing flue. Approximately 80% of the heat from the combustion gases is transferred to the water within the water tank through the wall of the central flue without condensation. An additional 10% or more of the combustion heat is transferred to the water accompanied by condensation of water in the coiled flue. A fan draws the combustion gases through the central flue and the coiled condensing flue and supplies the combustion gases to an exterior vent.

  • Patent number: 7832677
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for controlling the cross-directional nip profile of a reeling nip in a reeler, in which the reeling nip is arranged by means of a reeling core or a growing machine reel and at least one loop of an endless supporting member continuous in the direction of the axis of the reeling core. To control the cross-directional nip profile of the reeling nip, variables proportional to the tension of the supporting member are measured, cross-directional tension profile of the supporting member is determined on the basis of said variables, and further, a cross-directional nip profile of the reeling nip is determined, said nip profile being controlled by adjusting the determined cross-directional tension profile of the supporting member.

  • Patent number: 7823746
Abstract: A container for carry out heated food items, such as rotisserie chicken, has a base which is connected to a lid by a mating peripheral closure which defines a liquid tight seal. The closure has an encircling inclined wall on the base, which helps to direct the lid into engagement with the base, and which also defines a cavity within the closure which can retain liquid. The base may be provided with two fold up straps which are retained by structure in the lid to lie generally flat to serve as a convenient carrying handle above the lid. The base has rib structure allowing it to distend downwardly when loaded with food to space the heated food from the customer's hand while engaged with the handle.

  • Patent number: 7824522
Abstract: An apparatus for the repair or maintenance of a papermaking headbox has two devices, one of which is used on the tending side and one of which is used on the drive side of the headbox. Each device has three parts, a lower bracket mounted to the headbox frame, an upper bracket mounted to the headbox slice beam, and a carriage which moves on a track formed on the lower bracket. The carriage is adjustably mounted to the upper bracket, and supports the slice beam which is attached to the upper bracket, and allows the slice beam to be precisely raised and lowered with respect to the headbox, so as to disconnect the slice beam from the headbox. Once separated, the slice beam is moved on the track, displacing it in the machine direction from the head box.

  • Patent number: 7799171
Abstract: A method and a system to control a reeling profile of a material web reel (30), when, in the forming of a material web reel (30), a web is reeled around a reeling core and when in an adjustment of CD-directional profiles of the web reel, profiling devices (8) have been applied. For adjusting quality profiles and reeling profiles of the web, profiling devices are managed with the help of profile measurings of the roller nip and/or of the profile measurings of the reel (30), which are obtained from the reel-up (2). A measuring device (40) for a measuring of a CD-directional hardness profile of the fiber web reel includes a measuring head (43), which is connected with a loading means (41, 42), which loads the measuring head against the fiber web reel. The motion course of the measuring head is linear.
