Abstract: A network security appliance that provides security to devices in industrial environments by transparently bridging traffic to the endpoint device. The security appliance securely communicates with a management server for receiving configuration data for operation of security modules in the appliance by encrypted communications. The security appliance utilizes the network address of the industrial device when communicating with a management server and is addressed by the management server using the address of one of the protected devices associated with the appliance. Learned device characteristics are provided by the appliance to the management server which tailors software and security rules to specific network vulnerabilities of the device and control protocol. The security appliance sends periodic heartbeat messages to the management server using the network address of the device.

Abstract: A camera includes a mode setting unit which sets an operation mode of the camera to a normal mode or an illumination apparatus control mode. A display unit selectively displays an image and information. A setting unit sets and changes operating conditions of an illumination apparatus. A communication unit instructs the operating conditions to the illumination apparatus. A control unit controls the mode setting unit to set the operation mode to the illumination apparatus control mode, and changes a display form of the display unit, when predetermined conditions are satisfied. The predetermined conditions include any one of the followings (1) the communication unit is attached to the camera, (2) the communication unit set to an illumination apparatus control mode is attached to the camera, and (3) the communication unit which is incorporated in the camera is set to an illumination apparatus control mode.
Abstract: A focus evaluation value representing a focusing state of a taking lens is repeatedly calculated on the basis of an image signal output from an imaging section of a digital camera, a change in the focus evaluation value generated by the movement of the taking lens is detected, when a predetermined change in the focus evaluation value is detected in manual focusing, at least one of a first mode for continuing manual focusing and a second mode for making the transition to auto-focusing, in which the taking lens is automatically moved, is selected, when the predetermined change in the focus evaluation value is detected in the case in which the second mode is selected, the focusing operation is automatically switched to auto-focusing, whereby the taking lens is automatically moved such that the focus evaluation value is the peak value.
Abstract: An electronic imaging apparatus includes a color imaging device having several drive modes including at least first and second drive modes. A simultaneous shooting unit simultaneously or continuously executes an operation of acquiring a first image data by driving the color imaging device in the first drive mode and an operation of acquiring a second image data by driving the color imaging device in the second drive mode. A color conversion parameter calculator calculates color conversion parameters so that color reproduction of the first and second image data acquired by the simultaneous shooting unit becomes the same.
Abstract: A camera according to the present invention includes a picture-taking lens unit including a picture-taking optical system having a bending optical system which optically bends incident light and an optical finder unit including a finder optical system having a bending optical system which optically bends incident light. A pre-bending optical system and a post-bending optical system in the bending optical system of the optical finder unit are arranged adjacent to a pre-bending optical system and a post-bending optical system in the bending optical system of the picture-taking lens unit, respectively. The body of the camera is therefore decreased in size.

Abstract: An information terminal device and method for upgrading a program simply and flexibly and an upgraded program is described. In many cases, a program running on a computer has additional functions prepared separately so that they can be added to that program as necessary. To use the additional functions, a user may purchase a new version of that program and install it on their computer by selecting icons which link to the new version of the program.
Abstract: A new P2P streaming method and apparatus disseminates video chunks to all peers with the minimum (or at least reduced) delay. After obtaining a new video chunk, a peer keeps transmitting (uploading) that video chunk to other peers until all peers receive it. The approach quickly increases the aggregate bandwidth that can be utilized to transmit a video chunk. For example, the aggregate peer bandwidth used to transmit a video chunk can double every time slot. For a homogeneous P2P streaming system with N peers, a time slot is defined as a unit of the single chunk transmission delay between two peers. Using the P2P streaming method, a video chunk can be disseminated to all peers within 1+log2 N time slots.

Abstract: In this photographing apparatus, when it is recognized that communication with an external device is possible, the operating mode is set to the communication mode, in which communication can be carried out with the external device. Once there is communication connection with the external device, signals to change the mode from the mode selecting device, which directs the operating mode of the photography apparatus, are ignored, and a shift from the communication mode to another mode is prohibited.
Abstract: A layer 2 transport network, and components thereof, supporting virtual network functionality among customer edge devices. Virtual private network configuration can be accomplished with merely local intervention by preprovisioning extra channel (or circuit) identifiers at each customer edge device and by advertising label base and range information corresponding to a list of channel (or circuit) identifiers.

Abstract: Helping advertisers by simplifying the management of interactive advertising. Such simplification can by achieved by allowing an advertiser to pause the serving of an ad, or some grouping of ads. The pausing may continue for a predetermined time period, until a specified time and/or date, or until a restart is selected.
Abstract: Helping advertisers to control marketing expenditures by governing the delivery of an advertisement over a time period. Such governing may be accomplished by (a) determining an expected cost associated with delivering the advertisement, ungoverned, over the time period; and (b) governing the delivery of the advertisement based on the expected cost and a target cost. The delivery of the advertisement may be also governed based on time remaining in the time period, budget deficits from past periods, budget surpluses from past periods, a start date and an end date associated with the advertisement, time since a start date associated with the advertisement, and/or time until an end date associated with the advertisement. The target cost may be based on a predefined budget.
Abstract: There is disclosed a data management apparatus having a display screen, which includes (1) a first area for displaying a list of title information representing data belonging to a specified category and capable of changing the list in response to changing the category specification, and (2) a second area in which no display content is changed despite changing the category specification, wherein at least either of copying and moving of any title information can be performed at least from the first area to the second area. In addition to the data management apparatus, the present invention can be understood as the invention of a camera including the data management apparatus, a data management method, and a recording medium recording a data management program.
Abstract: An electronic image pickup apparatus comprises a color image pickup element having a plurality of drive modes including at least the first drive mode and the second drive mode. The color-conversion parameter storage section of the apparatus stores the first color-conversion parameter. The color-conversion parameter computing section of the apparatus computes from the first color-conversion parameter the second color-conversion parameter. The computation parameter storage section of the apparatus stores the computation parameter for computing the second color-conversion parameter. The color-conversion section of the apparatus converts the color data acquired by the color image pickup element in the first drive mode according to the first color-conversion parameter and the color data acquired by the color image pickup element in the second drive mode according to the second color-conversion parameter.
Abstract: Whether or not a node is a relay node may be determined by, for each of a plurality of active flows, assigning a random number to the flow, wherein each of the random numbers is drawn from a distribution. Then, for each of a plurality of time slots, any incoming flows to the node and any outgoing flows from the node may be determined, random numbers assigned to any active flow of the incoming flows may be summed to generate a first sum, random numbers assigned to any active outgoing flows may be summed to generating a second sum, and the first sum may be multiplied with the second sum to generate a product associated with the time slot. The products over the plurality of time slots may then be summed to obtain a summed product. This may be repeated, reassigning random values to each of the plurality of flows, thereby obtaining a plurality of summed products. A variance of the plurality of summed products may be determined and compared with a threshold to obtain a comparison result.
