  • Patent number: 6330686
Abstract: During phase one of each protected conversation transaction, one or more messages are inserted. These messages are logged for recoverability. IMS system could crash before phase two of commit. When IMS restarted and eventually reached phase 2, it could vote to abort or commit the conversation. During IMS restart, the retry logic is used to put all protected conversation messages out to central facility with a specification that the first message segment be put on the staging queue using the recovery token as the queue name. If it is an abort request, all messages under the same commit scope identified by the recovery token, will be deleted. If it is a commit request, the first segment of all messages under the same commit scope will be moved to its appropriate ready queue with its actual queue name.

  • Patent number: 6329716
Abstract: For forming a contact electrode to an n-type contact layer of a gallium nitride-based compound semiconductor, the n-type contact layer of the gallium nitride-based compound semiconductor is exposed to an oxygen plasma to form an oxygen-doped surface layer in a surface of the n-type contact layer, and then, an electrode metal is formed on the oxygen-doped surface layer. With this arrangement, an n-type contact electrode having a low specific contact resistance is obtained with good reproducibility, with performing no annealing after formation of the electrode metal.

  • Patent number: 6328421
Abstract: A fluid drop projecting apparatus which can fly, one by one, fluid drops far smaller than the opening bore from which the drops are projected, and moreover cay readily vary the size of the fluid drops, is provided. To this end, surface waves travelling toward a fluid drop projecting point are applied on the free surface of fluid in a fluid drop projecting chamber having an opening. The surface waves are generated by a surface wave generator including the fluid drop projecting chamber, a diaphragm and a piezo actuator. As the surface waves are generated by the surface wave generator at substantially equal distances from a fluid drop projecting point, the height of the surface waves gradually increases, amplified by their interference, and fluid drops are separated at and projected from the fluid drop projecting point.

  • Patent number: 6328504
Abstract: A plunge-cutting forming tip which improves chip disposal. A protrusion (11) is disposed on a rake face (7) in the vicinity of the ridgeline of a plunge-cutting edge (3). In cutting by means of the tip (1), a chip (K) is ejected which is not only merely thin, but also is ejected in such a manner as to be partially squeezed as a result of pressing against the protrusion (11). Accordingly, the chip is ejected such that a cross section thereof is deformed into a channel shape instead of assuming a flat shape. Thus, the rigidity of the chip is increased, so that chip disposal is improved accordingly.
