Patent number: 6981927Abstract: An improved mold and method of making a golf ball product is disclosed. The mold parts are flared outward towards the parting line, which creates a golf ball product having a flared area around the equator. The flared area is provided to facilitate post-mold processing steps, particularly buffing. Dimples are formed on the outer surface of the golf ball product, including the flared area. The flared area is removed, resulting in a spherical outer surface having uniform dimples throughout, including the equatorial region. Thus, the flared area allows for more an improved post-buff golf ball product.Type: GrantFiled: June 6, 2003Date of Patent: January 3, 2006Assignee: Acushnet CompanyInventor: Steven Aoyama

Patent number: 6885637Abstract: In an ATM satellite communication system, congestion parameters for the downlink from the satellite are measured in the satellite and are broadcast to the downlink terminals or to the downlink and uplink terminals linked by virtual channels extending through the satellite. At a downlink terminal or uplink terminal, the parameters broadcast from the satellite are used to calculate an explicit rate for a virtual channel in the downlink. The explicit rate calculated at the terminal is used by the source for the virtual channel to determine the rate of transmission of Available Bit Rate cells on the virtual channel.Type: GrantFiled: May 12, 2000Date of Patent: April 26, 2005Assignee: Bae Systems Information and Electronic Systems Integration, Inc.Inventor: William M.
