  • Patent number: 6945350
Abstract: A steering apparatus (10) for turning steerable wheels of a vehicle having first and second sets (14 and 16) of steerable wheels comprises a first steering gear (22) actuatable, in response to rotation of a handwheel (110), to effect turning of the first set (14) of steerable wheels. The steering apparatus (10) also comprises second and third steering gears (24 and 26), each of which is independently actuatable to effect turning of the second set (16) of steerable wheels and thereby providing redundancy for turning of the second set (16) of steerable wheels. A sensor (112) senses a steering position of the first set (14) of steerable wheels and provides a steering signal indicative of the sensed steering position. A controller (114) receives the steering signal and, in response to the steering signal, controls actuation of the second and third steering gears (24 and 26).

  • Patent number: 6941455
Abstract: System and method for cross directory authentication in a Public Key Infrastructure. A first directory is configured to query a second directory when receiving queries regarding signature certificates from a second enterprise PKI. The first directory is part of a first enterprise PKI, and the second directory is part of the second enterprise PKI. Access to a first enterprise PKI server is attempted by a user. The user presents a signature certificate from the second enterprise PKI to the server for authentication. A query is sent to the first directory from the server to determine if the user is allowed access to the server. A query is sent to the second directory from the first directory to determine if the user is a member of the second enterprise PKI. The server approves access to the server if the user is a member of the second enterprise PKI.

  • Patent number: 6933986
Abstract: A sharply tuned bandpass RF filter is presented herein. The filter has an input port for receiving television RF signals and passing same to an output port for application to a load. The filter is tuned such that it exhibits the characteristic of passing only RF signals having frequencies within a given frequency channel out of a plurality of channels, all having the same frequency bandwidth while rejecting all other frequencies. The bandwidth of each channel is on the order of W MHz. The filter exhibits an amplitude response within a mandated mask such that when operated in an RF transmitter the amplitude of the response is attenuated uniformly about the center frequency of the given channel within a frequency range of about ±0.5W MHz to a maximum of about ±(0.5W+0.45) MHz and extending to an attenuated level of about ?1 to ?18 dB from the in-band power level.
