Abstract: A device useful for loading, unloading, and securing cargo to be transported by a vehicle is described. The device comprises a bed liner and a movable platform. The moveable platform is movably inserted into a platform receiving area located in the bed liner and platform movement is limited by use of stop pins inserted into pin apertures. Suitable insert for use securing a variety of different loads are also described.

Abstract: A method for purifying various nitrogen containing flavor and fragrance compounds is described. The method comprises at least one step of reverse crystallization for liquid compounds and may be followed by at least one step of forward crystallization for compounds that are solid at room temperature.

Abstract: Described is a filter device for reducing the light output of a flash tube, while leaving the light output of a modeling light tube unaffected, in a dual lamp photo strobe unit. The filter device is comprised of a body that is sized to fit over a flash tube in a dual light, photo strobe unit. Critically, the body fits over the flash tube only, thereby leaving the modeling light unobstructed. It its preferred embodiment, the filter device has axial symmetry. It a most preferred embodiment, the filter device has a circularly shaped base, a tubular sidewall that extends from the base to an enclosing top section. The top section critically includes an aperture through which the modeling light will project, when the filter device is placed upon a photo strobe unit.

Abstract: Described is a device that is useful for basting food products in the cooking process. More specifically, the device is useful by providing variable fluid flow capabilities to food product basting appliances. The food basting device comprises two separate pieces, a cap piece and a brush piece that work in rotating relationship with each other to prove variable fluid flow through the device. The food basting device preferably works with fluid containers that do not have screw threads for a cap or lid, such as a beer or soda can.

Abstract: Described is a gutter clip that is useful for attaching linear systems, such ornamental light strings, misting systems and the like, to surfaces, such as gutters. The clip comprises a body with a clip portion and a linear system attachment portion that is on a side of the body opposite that of the gutter clip portion.

Abstract: Described are compositions and methods for the treatment of acne. The method and compositions comprise an orally ingested composition containing thymic peptides, vitamins, and minerals. Zinc, pantothenic acid, magnesium, pyridoxine, vitamins A and D, riboflavin, and folic acid are found to be essential to the composition. Also described is a topical composition comprising pantothenic acid that, when used in conjunction with the oral composition, resulted in a better response than either the oral or topical composition alone.

Abstract: Described is a clip that is useful for attaching ornamental light strings to surfaces, such as roofs, walls, fascia and the like. The clip can be attached to a variety of different surfaces, such as gutters, roofs, and roof fascia. The clip comprises a clip portion and two different light string attachment portions, one located on each side of the clip portion.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to a device to aid in the placement of eye drops from an ophthalmic medication containing bottle. The device of the present invention is designed to be attached to the bottle at all times, including while in use. Furthermore, the present invention is specifically designed to aid in the easy removal and replacement of ophthalmic solution containing bottle caps. The present invention, in its most basic form, comprises an eye ring, a bottle attaching portion and a flexible extension connecting the eye ring to the bottle attaching portion, wherein the eye ring and flexible extension may be moved off of the bottle axis to permit easy removal and replacement of the bottle cap.

Abstract: A composition is described that comprises moringa oils, or its derivatives, produced from the moringa plant in combination with an oxidation stabilizing system comprising at least one tocopherol. The oils derived from the moringa plant should have a percent methylene interrupted unsaturation of less than 1%. The composition may have at least one supplemental additive, such as malic acid, kojic acid, or ascorbic acid, present in an amount of from 0.01 to 2% or more by weight of the composition and the tocopherol is present in an amount of from 0.01 to 5% by weight of the composition.

Abstract: A method for enhancing growth hormone production and release, for appetite suppression, or both, in a subject in need thereof. The method comprises administering to the subject an effective amount of a first composition, wherein the first composition increases cholinergic tone and growth hormone synthesis, and the second composition inhibits somatostatin. The first composition may be a combination of an acetylcholinesterase inhibitor and Vitamin E D-&agr;-succinate, whereas the second composition may be a salt of cysteamine and an alkali buffer, or may be pantothenic acid and an alkali metal salt. A two-part composition comprising the first and second compositions as also disclosed.

Abstract: A method for equalizing fluid pressure in a primary fluid flow region, comprised of providing a modulating fluid flow region adjacent to the primary flow region and separating the two regions with a perforated wall. By controlling the fluid pressure in the modulating fluid flow region, and permitting fluid to flow between the perforated wall, the fluid pressure in the primary fluid flow region is equalized. The perforations may be formed either in at least one ring about the perimeter of the plenum or at least one row along the longitudinal direction of the plenum. Furthermore, at least one of the perforations may be canted in either the longitudinal or radial directions. This method is important in equalizing the air pressure in a turbine engine air inlet and thereby avoiding aerodynamic distortions in said inlet. Additionally, an apparatus is provided for equalizing the pressure in a primary fluid flow region.

Abstract: The present invention is a device that functions as a letter display panel 1. The display panel 1 is a body 2 that is a relatively thin piece of material having front and rear surfaces 4 and 6 with an edge 5 that extends between the front and rear surfaces, 4 and 6. In a preferred embodiment, a kit having a plurality of identical display panels 1 is provided for use with ornamental light strings. Each separate display panel 1 is capable of forming an individual lighted letter when used with the ornamental light string, as will be described below. The separate display panels 1 may be then coupled together to form written messages and the like.

Abstract: The present invention are dry-feel emollient compositions comprising jojoba oil based esters that have use in personal care, cosmetic, cosmaceutical and pharmaceutical products. These compositions are essentially solid at room temperature, can be provided in various shapes and sizes (especially as particulates such as spheres), and can be produced from combinations of fatty alcohols, isopropyl esters and wax esters obtained from the oil contained in the seed of the jojoba plant. These new compositions also increase the range of applications for cosmetic compositions through an emollient that is more polar and hydrophilic than is found in jojoba oils. The compositions of the present invention may be obtained by a novel process of a base catalyzed alcoholysis reaction between jojoba oil and an alcohol, such as isopropyl alcohol.

Abstract: A dog food composition containing a small but sufficient amount of simmondsin component to provide simmondsin within the range of 0.1% by weight of said dog food dry matter mix to about 1.5% by weight of said dog food dry matter mix. Also disclosed as part of the invention is a method of weight reduction of companion pets by adding to pet food the above-defined range of simmondsin, contributed by simmondsin, simmondsin analogues or mixtures thereof, such as derived from defatted jojoba seed meal, and thereafter feeding the pet food to a companion pet on a regular and sustained basis to achieve weight reduction then weight maintenance.
