  • Patent number: 5546154
Abstract: A pressure developing apparatus is described for use in developing images in the image area of a photosensitive imaging sheet containing microcapsules, wherein the apparatus comprises:an arm which oscillates in arcuate paths across the surface of the imaging sheet;means for oscillating the arm across the surface of the imaging sheet;means for establishing longitudinal movement between the arm and the imaging sheet; anda developer head positioned along the shaft of the arm, the developer head further containing at least one point contact element which is resiliently biased into contact with a surface of the imaging sheet such that the point contact element traverses the surface of the imaging sheet in sequential increments to provide a plurality of paths and applies uniform pressure sufficient to rupture the microcapsules in substantially the entire image area.

  • Patent number: 5542170
Abstract: An apparatus for inserting connecting portions of an insulation sheet into slots of a stator core. A housing and a blade grip the insulation sheet by the slit in each of its connecting portions. The housing and the blade are then turned so that the blade engages a tooth of the stator core. The sheet is then bent by a deformation member such that the intermediate area of each body portion of the sheet is deformed and the opposite end areas of each body portion conform to the inside diameter portion of the stator core. Finally, the insulation sheet is moved into the core and the strips of each connecting portion are pushed into the predetermined slots.

  • Patent number: 5542490
Abstract: An electric forklift truck having a single motor which drives a pump which provides, via a priority valve, hydraulic fluid for both the working hydraulics and a steer unit on the truck. The motor is driven continuously at an idle speed in order to generate in the steer unit a dynamic load sensing signal to control the position of the priority valve. An optical sensor is associated with the steering column in order to provide an electric control signal to the motor controller to step up the speed of the motor in response to a steering demand.

  • Patent number: 5542456
Abstract: An inserter tool comprising a plurality of blades extending longitudinally from a platform spaced apart from one another so as to provide a plurality of guides between adjacent blades, and being arranged to receive a wound wire coil stripped from a winding form. A pair of wire holders on the platform for holding the leading end and trailing end of the wire forming the coil, and being capable of extending from a first position adjacent the platform to a second position removed from the platform.

  • Patent number: 5541091
Abstract: A process is described for the dimerization of a substituted aromatic compound of the formula (I): ##STR1## wherein X represents --OH, --SH or --NHR where R is H, an alkyl group or an aryl group; R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 represent an alkyl group, an aryl group, an alkenyl group, an alkynyl group, an alicyclic group, a halogen atom, an alkoxy group, an aryloxy group, a hydroxy group, or an amino group; and R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 can have the same definition as R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 and may additionally represent a hydrogen atom; which comprises reacting the substituted aromatic compound in the presence of a peroxidase enzyme, a peroxide and a radical transfer agent in an aqueous medium.

  • Patent number: 5539928
Abstract: A firefighter garment having a low friction liner system which includes an outer shell made of an abrasion resistant material, a moisture barrier layer made of a water-resistant material, a thermal barrier layer and a layer of material having high-lubricity positioned within the outer shell. In one embodiment, the high-lubricity layer is composed of a fire resistant filament yarn and is attached to the inside face of the thermal liner; that is, the face positioned next to the clothing of a wearer of the garment. In another embodiment, the layer of high-lubricity material is positioned to form a substrate for the moisture barrier and is located between the moisture barrier and outer shell. A garment having two layers of high-lubricity material, one forming an inside face of the thermal liner and the other forming an interface between the moisture barrier and outer shell, is also preferable.
