Abstract: This invention is directed to provide a line thermal printer which controls a power supply quantity to a thermal head by high speed control below a second unit and can insure always a predetermined printing density. The line thermal printer includes circuit elements for multiplying a heat accumulation counter for counting cumulatively the number of dot data for each line by a heat radiation constant in a predetermined cycle and for controlling a power supply pulse width on the basis of the count value of the heat accumulation counter.
Abstract: A multichannel optical measuring system for measuring optical responses of samples illuminated by light of differing wavelengths has a plurality of measurement sample cuvettes each contain a sample to be measured. A first single light source provides a first illumination light. A plurality of sets of optical fibers direct the first illumination light from the first single light source to illuminate, along an optical axis, the samples contained in respective sample cuvettes. A second light source is provided for illuminating each respective sample cuvette with a second illumination light for measuring an intensity of transmitted light through the sample. The optical axis of the second illumination light is perpendicular to the optical axis of the first illumination light. A common photosensor disposed on the optical axis of the second light source measures the intensity of the first illumination light and the intensity of the transmitted light from each sample.
Abstract: A quartz crystal resonator is utilized to effect evaluation of the viscoelastic characteristic of a film deposited on an electrode by an electrochemical reaction. The quartz crystal resonator is connected to a resonator characteristic measurement unit comprised of an oscillating circuit, a frequency counter, and an amplitude level meter. An electrochemical measurement unit in the form of a potentiostat is connected to a working electrode which comprises one of the electrodes of the resonator, to a reference electrode and to a counter electrode. The frequency counter, the amplitude level meter and the potentiostat are connected to a CPU. The resonator, reference electrode and counter electrode are all immersed in an electrolyte solution in an electrochemical cell.
Abstract: A torsional quartz crystal resonator has a specific cut type resulting in improved frequency temperature behavior. The cut type is defined by rotating a Z plate quartz crystal around an x-axis at an angle .phi. in the range of 0.degree. through 30.degree. and by further rotating the plate around a z'-axis at another angle .theta. in the range of -20.degree. through -10.degree. or +10.degree. through +20.degree.. The resonator has a thickness z.sub.0 and a width x.sub.0 determined such that a thickness-to-width ratio Rzx=z.sub.0 /x.sub.0 is set within the range of 0.6 through 1.1 to make the first order temperature coefficient substantially zero in combination with the optimum angles .phi. and .theta.. Excitation electrodes are disposed on major faces of the resonator normal to the z' axis, and a connecting electrode is disposed on a side face of the resonator to reduce the series resistance R.sub.1.
Abstract: The invention relates to a filing apparatus of the both-side opening and closing type in which a pair of right and left opening/closing members (52) coupled to the right and left side edges of an attaching member (41) can be opened and closed from any one of the front, back, right and left side edges by an operating member (61) provided for the attaching member (41).
Abstract: An improved image sensor comprises a plurality of photo-sensing elements each comprising an impurity diffusion layer formed in a surface of a semiconductor substrate and arrayed linearly. The photo-sensing elements are of an opposite conductivity type than that of the semiconductor substrate. A transparent insulating film is formed on the photo-sensing elements and the surface of the semiconductor substrate. A non-light transmitting shading film is formed over the transparent insulating film and has photo-sensing windows which overlay a part of each of the photo-sensing elements. The shape and area of each of the photo-sensing elements is equal. The area of each of the photo-sensing windows is equal, but the shape of the first and last photosensing windows is different from that of the remaining photosensing windows. By this arrangement, the amount of photoexcited carriers generated is uniform at all photo-sensing regions, since the area of all photo-sensing windows is equal.
Abstract: Superconducting detection coils for a superconducting quantum interference device are foraged on a flexible printed wiring film having a pair of opposed edges. The flexible printed wiring film is capable of being shaped into a cylinder by bringing the opposed edges toward each other. A superconducting wiring pattern is formed on the flexible printed wiring film and has at least one substantially U-shaped wiring portion. The U-shaped wiring portion forms at least two circular wiring patterns when the printed wiring film is shaped into a cylinder by bringing the opposed edges toward each other. The superconducting wiring pattern also has a first and a second electrode portion for connecting the circular wiring patterns to at least one superconducting quantum interference device. A resistor is electrically connected between the electrode portions of the superconducting wiring pattern.
Abstract: The object of the present invention is to enable detecting operation states of numerous switches in a cordless coordinate reading system. The coordinate reading system body is provided with the switching circuit for selecting the excitation signal, so that one of the groups of sense lines can be excited with a plurality of frequencies. The coordinate indicator is provided with the resonant circuit and the groups of devices for setting frequency which modify the resonance frequency of the resonant circuit in accordance with the press of the switch, enable the resonant circuit to resonate with any one of a plurality of the resonance frequencies, and further slightly modify the resonance frequency. Further, the coordinate reading system body is provided with the circuit for detecting the phase contrast between the induced signal from the coordinate indicator and the excitation signal.
