  • Patent number: 4594074
Abstract: An improved, non-occluding high fluid flow enteral feeding tube including a non-collapsible bolus carried on a distal end of the tube. The bolus having at least one opening defining a tube outlet. The one opening being defined by generally vertical bolus side walls having a selected transverse sectional height ranging from a height equal to at least one-half the inner diameter of the tube to no more than a height equal to the sum of the tube inner diameter and the thickness of the tube wall. The bolus further including an upwardly inclining internal bolus floor to gradually direct fluid from the tube, through the bolus and out of the opening minimizing disturbance of fluid flow rate.

  • Patent number: 4593671
Abstract: A unique supplemental carburetion device for internal combustion engines producing a primary source of fuel-air mixture for use at idle and low engine speeds resulting in decreased fuel consumption and exhaust emissions comprising a fuel reservoir chamber joined to a source of liquid fuel and determinate fluid communication with a fuel metering chamber. The metering chamber preferably is vented to ambient air pressure contains diaphragm valve means for controlling fluid flow into the metering chamber. Liquid fuel from the metering chamber flows into a nebulizing chamber and is nebulized by interaction with a stream of ambient air or blow-by gases. The fuel-air stream is passed into a venturi throat and vaporized and then passed into an expansion chamber where the stream is expanded under low static gas pressure to a mixture having a pre-determined fuel to air ratio. The mixture exits the device and is delivered into downstream portions of the carburetor throat.

  • Patent number: 4521191
Abstract: Condensing instruments are used for packing and condensing in connection with placement of dental composite resin restorative materials. These instruments are manufactured in metal or plastic material. Some composite resins however, contain hard particles and require a relatively large condensing pressure which causes abrasion of superficial fragments of prior art metal instruments. These fragments are confined in the restorative material and causes discoloration, often after oxidation. Plastic instruments quickly loose their surface finish, which may render it impossible to perform an adequate condensation. In order to provide an instrument which does not cause discoloration and which guarantees a durable function, at least one functional member (4 and/or 5) of the instrument consists of a metal alloy having a coating (6 and/or 7) of ceramic material which provides the working surface (8 and/or 9) of the functional member.

  • Patent number: 4508220
Abstract: An improved clip assembly in the form of a row of aligned U-shaped clips. The clips are maintained in aligned relation to each other by resilient interconnecting means such as small diameter flexible strong metal wires which advantageously are intimately secured to the crown portions of the clips by a metal-to-metal bond. The assembly can be wound, in the manner of spool of thread or wire, into a tight, self-sustaining, compact roll comprising thousands of clips. The invention also involves a method of producing said improved clip assembly and a method in which said improved clip assembly is utilized to wrap the U-shaped clips on overlying wire members to produce bed spring, furniture and the like.

  • Patent number: 4494012
Abstract: A switching timer device includes a manual switch having "on", "off" and "timer" positions. When the switch is set in the "on" position a load is supplied continuous power from a source. When the switch is set in the "timer" position, a load-powering power switch is closed for a predetermined length of time determined by a timer that is automatically reset when the manual switch is so actuated, and after elapse of the predetermined time the power switch is opened to de-energize the load. The timer is configured as a direct replacement for existing wall-mounted switch units without requiring access to the low side of the line, and consumes no internal power when in the normal "on" position.
