  • Patent number: 5094191
Abstract: A fluidized bed steam generating system in which a duct is disposed between a furnace outlet and a separator inlet. The duct is formed by first and second wall panels which are comprised of a plurality of parallel tubes extending perpendicular to the direction of the flow of the combustion gases. The tubes comprising the wall panels are bent and welded to a fin extending from corresponding portions of adjacent tubes to form a gas tight structure. The ends of the tubes are connected in fluid flow communication with first and second headers which enables cooling fluid to flow through the tubes for recovering heat from the combustion gases as they flow from the furnace into the separator.

  • Patent number: 5040598
Abstract: A pulling tool and method for pulling an operating tool from a downhole location in a wellbore in which an elongated tubular housing assembly is connectable to a section of reeled tubing and defines a longitudinal bore through which fluid passes from said reeled tubing. • Patent number: 5012871
Abstract: A fluid flow control system, assembly and method for wells in which a sliding sleeve valve is connected in a string of well tubing in a wellbore casing. The sliding sleeve valve functions to selectively control the lateral flow of fluid through the assembly into the annulus between the assembly and the wellbore casing. A straddle assembly is locked within the sleeve valve assembly for isolating a lateral flow path. A stinger assembly is provided which receives reeled tubing and is insertable to lock within the straddle assembly to create a flow path between the reeled tubing and exterior of the sleeve valve.

  • Patent number: 5011047
Abstract: An apparatus for dispensing product from a container in which first and second members are provided in a vessel which is disposed in the container. The first member defines with the vessel a first chamber, and the second member defines with the first member a second chamber. One of the members moves in response to the pressure in the container to a first position relative to the other member and pressure is exerted in the second chamber on said first member to move it to a second position in response to the pressure in the container decreasing below the predetermined pressure. When the first member moves to the second position the first chamber is connected with the container to permit the pressurized gas in the first chamber to pass to the container and when the first member moves to the first position this connection is disconnected to prevent the passage of the gas.

  • Patent number: 5007479
Abstract: A hydraulic jar for use in a well and a method of operating same in which an outer housing assembly extends around an inner mandrel assembly in a coaxial relation thereto to define two fluid chambers separated by a piston. The housing assembly is movable relative to the mandrel assembly to force the fluid from one of the chambers to the other. The fluid flow rate is varied between a relative low flow rate and a relative high flow rate in response to the relative position of the housing assembly causing corresponding movement at the latter assembly. A high impact load is transferred to a member connected to the jar in response to a movement at the relatively high flow rate. The jar can be used to create a high impact load in both an upward direction and a downward direction.

The packing assembly is hydraulically set in a locking and sealing position in the wellbore by fluid introduced from the reeled tubing and, after use, is hydraulically released and removed from the wellbore. An actuating apparatus is provided for hydraulically actuating the packing assembly and can be converted in a manner to pull the packing assembly from the wellbore. Prior to the removal of the packing assembly from the wellbore, the wellbore fluid pressure is equalized across the packing assembly.

  • Patent number: 4986362
Abstract: A running tool for use with reeled tubing and a method of operating same in which a piston assembly extending over a portion of an inner mandrel assembly and in engagement with a locking device. Shear pins connect the piston assembly relative to the inner mandrel assembly and a fluid chamber is defined by cooperating shoulders formed on the inner mandrel assembly and the piston assembly. The inner mandrel assembly has a bore which can be connected to the fluid chamber for establishing fluid pressure in the fluid chamber to exert oppositely directed forces on the shoulder to shear the shear pins in response to a predetermined value of the fluid pressure to permit axial movement of the piston assembly to actuate the locking device.
