  • Patent number: 4823545
Abstract: A false-twist spinning unit or apparatus comprises a first spinning disc, such as a top spinning disc and a second spinning disc, such as a bottom spinning disc rotating in opposite directions and arranged in staggered or offset relation at an inter-axis distance from one another such that friction rings thereof form a substantially rhomboid-like crossing surface. Disposed outside the friction rings are suction surfaces which engage the fibers of a sliver delivered from a nip line of an exit roll pair of a sliver feeder and convey such fibers to a yarn core line. The suction surfaces have suction apertures and sucked-off air is transported by suction nozzles coacting with the suction apertures. In operation, at the region of the nip line there is produced a false-twisted yarn core forming a spinning triangle.

  • Patent number: 4824524
Abstract: In a multi-ply headbox, the nozzle chamber is subdivided by rigid partition walls into a number of nozzle chambers, and the slice openings or outlet slices are adjustable independently of one another. This is accomplished by providing a pivotable mounting of the partition wall or walls in a guide block, for instance, such pivotable mounting being accomplished by a substantially cylindrical shell or cup bearing structure. The desired pivotable movement or adjustment of the rigid partition wall can be undertaken by an inclined groove-cam guide arrangement effective at a projection of the partition wall or by pressure cushions, such as pressure hoses effective at both sides of the projection.

  • Patent number: 4821503
Abstract: To control the yarn quality of a yarn produced by a textile machine, particularly a false-twist jet spinning apparatus, there is provided at the end of the spinning operation, however, upstream of the pair of withdrawal rolls for the outfeed of the produced yarn, a yarn tension measuring device. Upon falling outside of a predeterminate yarn tension tolerance or tension range the yarn tension measuring device controls operation of the false-twist jet spinning apparatus such that, as required, there is accomplished an appropriate increase or decrease of the yarn tension of the yarn produced by the false-twist jet spinning apparatus. Alteration of the yarn tension can be achieved, for instance, by varying the blowing intensity or energy of the air utilized for the spinning operation as well as by varying the angle at which there is blown in the air used for the spinning operation or by varying the rotational speed of the delivery rolls which deliver the formed yarn or by selected combinations of these measures.

  • Patent number: 4819421
Abstract: To control the yarn quality of a yarn produced by a textile machine, for instance a friction spinning apparatus, there is provided at the end of the friction spinning operation, however, forwardly of the pair of withdrawal rolls for the outfeed of the produced yarn, a yarn tension measuring device. Upon deviating from or falling outside of a predeterminate yarn tension tolerance value or range the yarn tension measuring device controls operation of the friction spinning apparatus such that, as required, there is accomplished an appropriate increase or decrease of the yarn tension of the yarn produced by the friction spinning apparatus. Alteration of the yarn tension can be acheived, for instance, by acting upon the drive for one of the friction spinning elements, to control the rotational speed thereof, or by selectively positioning the suction nozzle of a friction spinning element, or by controlling the size of the nip between coacting friction spinning elements, or selected combinations of such measures.

  • Patent number: 4817898
Abstract: The adjusting device possesses a hydraulic cylinder in whose cylinder tube there are housed a main piston equipped with a piston rod, an auxiliary piston and a force-exerting spring. The cylinder tube is closed off at both of its ends by an associated end flange. The outer surface of the cylinder tube simultaneously constitutes the guide surface of a guide tube which is fixedly connected by means of a connecting flange with the piston rod. Since the cylinder tube possesses an essentially constant or uniform inner diameter and outer diameter, the guide tube can be constructed to be so long that the adjusting device is stable enough to serve as a supporting column or pillar, e.g. for a chair or other seat structure.

  • Patent number: 4815183
Abstract: In a controlled deflection roll, hydrostatic support elements are used which can be tilted to an increased extent only in the axial direction but not in the circumferential direction of the roll shell. Deflection or bending of the stationary support member, on which the roll shell is supported by the hydrostatic support elements is compensated by the axial tilting capacity of such hydrostatic support elements. The transverse forces occurring during operation of the controlled deflection roll are automatically compensated by the supporting directions or direction of action of at least outer bearing pockets of the hydrostatic support elements and which form a predeterminate angle with the pressing direction, so that force components directed in the circumferential direction are formed which substantially counteract the prevailing transverse force.

  • Patent number: 4815239
Abstract: An apparatus is disclosed in which only one working point or machining point on a machining tool, which in general can comprise a grinding wheel or disc, is in machining contact with a workpiece such as a gear blank during a machining operation. The position of this single working or machining point can be selectively chosen within a machining region of the grinding wheel or disk and can be prescribed to lie in a zone of fixed or variable radius of the grinding wheel or disk. This is achieved through at least one feed motion, in general a feed motion of the grinding wheel or disc, effected in addition to feed motions known per se in machining processes performed essentially according to the indexing generating method. This means that the machining contact point between the grinding wheel or disk and the gear blank does not wander on the grinding wheel or disk in correspondence with the generating feed motions but can be confined to a predeterminate region.
