Abstract: A locking fuel pump dispenser nozzle has a valved nozzle connected to a pressurized fuel supply and has an elongated spout for insertion into a vehicle filler tube of the type having an annular raised surface therein. The nozzle has a manually actuating valve for controlling the flow of fuel from the pressurized fuel supply through the nozzle into the vehicle filler tube and vehicle fuel tank. The improvement includes a locking mechanism for locking the nozzle spout in the filler tube when filling a vehicle fuel tank.

Abstract: A method for providing efficient uniform delivery of a predetermined amount of water needed for a specific crop planted on sloping land using an irrigation system laid out following a topographical map to maintain a constant pressure head for all of the discharge points over the length of the irrigation hose having a gradient drop in the hose to allow delivery of a predetermined amount of water for a specific crop planted on sloping land.

Abstract: A wobbling sprinkler head has a sprinkler head main frame having a nozzle base having a nozzle therein and at least one arm extending therefrom supporting a deflector supporting base. The nozzle base is attached to a water supply and has a water inlet for directing water through the nozzle and against a water deflector head. The water deflector head has a shaft movably riding in the deflector supporting base and has a water deflecting surface attached to one end of the shaft and positioned to deflect water being emitted from the nozzle and a counterweight attached to the other end thereof to dampen vibrations. The water deflecting surface has a predetermined shape to cause rotation of the water deflector head responsive to water being directed thereagainst and has a protrusion extending therefrom to force an initial tilt and wobbling action.

Abstract: An apparatus for measuring the acceleration of an engine for use in a race car for matching the engine to the car for a particular racetrack and includes an engine test stand having a base and an inertia shaft mounted thereto coupled to a gear box. The test stand includes an engine cart for mounting the engine thereto and positionable for coupling the engine to the gear box and has a plurality of selectively engageable inertia wheels attached thereto. The method includes mounting an engine to the engine cart and positioning the engine cart for alignment with the gear box coupling the engine to the gear box. The engine is then accelerated through a predetermined RPM range so that measurements of elapsed time at preselected RPMs can be determined and a selected load to simulate a racetrack length.

Abstract: A method and composition of material for coating the surface of a structure to prevent animals from chewing on the structure. The composition includes Isophorone, organo-clay absorber, Bisphenol A Diglycidal Ether Polymer and a polyamide resin hardener. It may also have glass flakes or mica therein as well as a microencapsulated acrylic resin-based sealant and a flocculated silica thickener. The method includes preparing the composition having the Isophorone in a polymer resin, mixing the polymer hardener to the prepared composition to form a coating composition, and coating the surface, such as a piece of wood, with the coating composition to prevent animals from chewing on it. Coating may be by painting or troweling the composition onto the structure.

Abstract: An irrigation sprinkler with two viscous brakes. The viscous brakes work in conjunction with each other to maintain a low RPM and also to rotate a water stream diffuser. The water stream is first directed toward a deflector that offsets the stream and angles it toward the area to be watered. The offset stream applies a torsional force on the deflector causing it to rotate. The stream is then interrupted intermittently by the diffuser that is rotating at a different RPM. The end result is a sprinkler that rotates slowly and breaks up the stream of water intermittently to create an even pattern of water on the area being sprinkled without using mechanical parts, such as ratchets or gearing. This is desirable for smooth operation and less chance of the operation being interrupted from contamination by dirt, insects, debris, etc. Also, a more random diffusion of the water is obtained.

Abstract: A pivotable deployable bulb mounted foil apparatus for a sailboat can pivot a foil mounted within a keel bulb remotely as needed to provide lateral resistance for the sailboat. The foil or foils can be rotated between a nested position for greater speed when the foils are not needed for lateral resistance in the water to an extended or operative position when needed for lateral resistance. The pivotal bulb mounted foil is especially adapted for use with a canting keel where the sailboat loses its lateral resistance from the keel when the keel is canted.

Abstract: A storm drain filter system apparatus includes a skimmer tray having a sediment collection closed bottom and having an inlet side and an outlet side and a hydrocarbon absorbing boom. A plurality of boom support brackets each has a boom holding portion for holding the boom therein and a spacing arm extending from the boom holding portion and attached to one side of the skimmer tray to space the boom in the boom holding portion between the inlet side and the outlet side of the skimmer tray. The skimmer tray extends all or partly around the storm drain opening forming an open center area to allow overflow liquid to flow over the outlet side through the middle area. Sediment is collected in the bottom of the skimmer tray and the boom is supported spaced between the inlet and outlet side of the skimmer tray to capture hydrocarbons and liquid entering the skimmer tray. The liquid enters the skimmer tray on one side of the boom and out the other side of the boom.

Abstract: A mobile personnel gunfire shield apparatus has a frame supported on a pair of large wheels. The frame has a bullet resistant window mounted therein and is covered with flexible ballistic shield material, such as woven Kevlar, removably attached to the frame. A movable gun mount is mounted to the frame front adjacent the window mounted therein and has a gun having a barrel removably mounted thereto with the barrel extending through an opening in the front of the flexible ballistic shield material which allows a person to move the gunfire shield while protecting the occupant from gunfire and simultaneously operate the gun from thereinside.

Abstract: A golf training apparatus has a frame having a base and an upright frame portion having a cross frame member. A back support is attached to the upright frame portion and positioned to support the back of a golfer making practice swings and includes a Velcro fastener portion attached thereto. A belt for attaching around a golfer has a VELCRO fastener portion positioned in the back thereof and aligned for attachment to the back support fastener portion to thereby removably hold a golfer making practice swings to the golf training apparatus. The golf training apparatus includes a pair of knee brace members for holding a golfer's knees in position during a practice swing and an elongated arm with a head support yoke on the end thereof for supporting a golfer's head during practice swings.

Abstract: A vehicle laser alignment system laser supporting attachment for mounting a laser module to either the wheel spindle or hub of a vehicle has a plurality of attachments for attaching to different vehicles. A laser module supporting mandrel has a cradle for supporting a laser module on one end and a mandrel to wheel adapter connection on the other end thereof and has a slot formed in the side of the mandrel. A mandrel-to-wheel adapter is selected for a particular vehicle and is removably attached to the mandrel on the mandrel-to-wheel adapter connection for attaching the mandrel to a specific vehicle. An adapter holding plate has a threaded opening therein and is sized to fit into the mandrel slot for bolting the mandrel to a specific mandrel-to-wheel adapter.

Abstract: A pole mounted ceiling fan includes a conventional electric ceiling fan having a fan housing and an electric motor mounted therein and a plurality of blades coupled to the electric motor for rotation thereby. A center shaft is fixedly attached to the electric fan and extends through the electric motor and plurality of fan blades for attaching a light fixture below the fan housing. A vertically extending pole has a top end and a ceiling fan to pole adapter is attached to the ceiling fan center shaft and to the vertically extending pole so that a conventional ceiling fan is attached to the top of a vertical pole. A method of making a pole mounted ceiling fan includes selecting the conventional ceiling fan and the vertical extending pole and making a ceiling fan to pole adapter for attaching the ceiling fan center shaft to the pole and then attaching the ceiling fan to the pole with the ceiling fan pole adapter.

Abstract: A method of packet switching the packets in a data packet communication environment having a plurality of digital packet transmission stations interconnectable in paths. The steps include causing a first digital packet transmission of a smart data packet at a first end to send one or more smart data packets having a learning algorithm therein for learning a path to a second digital packet transmission station at a second end and then causing an acknowledgement packet to be sent from the second end having the learning path of the smart data packet from the first end to the second end in a reverse path direction to the first end. Then waiting at the first digital packet transmission station for the acknowledgement packet before sending a dumb data packet on the learned path received at the first end from the acknowledgement packet whereby a cognitive packet network is formed by packet switching.

Abstract: A fiber optic liquid level detector uses optical fibers to detect the presence or absence of liquids. The waveguide properties of optical fibers tends to deviate from the normal dielectric interfaces so that a fiber immersed in a liquid has a reflection coefficient smaller than when surrounded by air. This is caused by the differences in refractive indices of liquid and air and is used to measure the amount of light transmitted or reflected by the fiber in the preserve or absence of a liquid.

Abstract: The present invention is a filter system for a curb inlet catch basin which catch basin includes a ramp in the curb front which feeds into a catch basin to allow storm water to run directly along the curb and down the ramp and which also has a grated cover so the water can enter directly through the grate. The water collecting trough is mounted inside the curb inlet catch basin at the bottom of the entrance ramp and has raised walls for collecting runoff water. A weir is formed into one of the raised walls allowing the water to run out of the trough. An elongated hydrocarbon collecting boom is removably attached adjacent the weir and positioned for the drain water passing through the weir to pass thereover. The catch basin is removably mounted to the trough adjacent the weir and positioned to receive water runoff from the trough through the weir and over the hydrocarbon collecting boom.

Abstract: A floating ocean swell electric generator system includes a floating platform having a deck and an engine for propelling a floating platform. A plurality of ocean electric generators are mounted on the floating platform. Each floating generator has an elongated stator tube extending from the floating platform below the deck into the surface of the water and a floating linear rotor in the stator tube for movement with ocean swells passing beneath the floating platform. Electric energy is generated by the movement of the linear rotor in the stator tube responsive to ocean swells.
