  • Patent number: 4662134
Abstract: A wedge-type anchor for stranded tension cables. It has anchoring wedges that rest in a conical wedge-reception bore in a wedge mount. The wedges have teeth on their inner surface that decrease in depth toward the point of the wedge. To allow the anchor to be utilized at cryogenic temperatures without the core sliding through and the outer strands breaking prematurely, the ratio of the pitch (8) of the teeth to the diameter of the cable is between 1:20 and 1:30 at a ratio of the effective compression length (11) of each anchoring wedge (4) to the diameter (5) of the cable of between 2.8 and 4.5, and the teeth at the point of the wedge have a contact surface that tapers at an angle (13) of 4.degree. to 6.degree. to the longitudinal axis.

  • Patent number: 4640129
Abstract: A method of detecting the toner concentration of a two-component developer comprising a mixture of carrier particles and toner particles for use in an electrostatic copying apparatus or the like wherein a relationship between flow rate and the toner concentration of a two-component developer which passes through a container is obtained in advance, then the flow rate of the two-component developer whose toner concentration is unknown is measured by use of the container and developer flow rate detecting member. Thus, the toner concentration of the developer is determined from the measured flow rate and the relationship between the flow rate and the toner concentration which has been obtained in advance.

  • Patent number: 4629843
Abstract: An induction cooking apparatus or a ceramics hob which heats conductive food and/or a conductive pan through hysteresis loss and/or eddy current loss by exciting a coil with high frequency power, comprises a casing, a coil mounted on a coil support, and an insulation cover plate between the coil and food to be cooked. The coil support is made of ferro-magnetic material of mixture of insulation resin and ferrite powder which occupies 75-85 weight %, instead of a prior mere insulation resin so that no flux leaks below the coil support. Preferably, the coil support has a plurality of longitudinal ferrite ribs extending radially under the coil support, and still preferably, the coil support has a plurality of holes at the central portion of the same so that permeability at the central portion is essentially smaller than that at the outer portion to provide uniform flux.
