Abstract: Gaming tables that support wager-based gaming are provided with input receiving devices that are structured to intuitively message to players what kind of wagers are permitted at which betting positions and when and then to automatically detect timely placement of such wagers at corresponding betting positions. This allows for faster unfolding of gaming action in that player confusion is minimized with respect to which wagers are being called for, when and where. An integrated compact sensor system is provided occupying slightly more table area than that needed for supporting wagering tokens of different denominations. The sensor system includes a large array of full color pixels (e.g., RGB capable pixels) for messaging to the players and proximity detection functionality for detecting 3D player hand gestures.

Abstract: A gaming table includes input sensors which are configured to receive multiple inputs from a player. The sensors are linked to a gaming table controller and are configured to receive different types of inputs from players at different times. One input may comprise a wager input in the form of one or more chips which are associated with the sensor. Another input may comprise a game play input, such as a spin input for a bonus game, received by a player placing their hand proximate to the sensor.

Abstract: The configuring of an electronic gaming machine (EGM) to participate in pools managed by a progressive pools managing controller (PPMC) can be complex. The process is simplified in accordance with the present disclosure by automatically transmitting from an EGM and to its corresponding PPMC, an auto-configuration request identifying the EGM and a predetermined wagering game supported by the EGM; responsively receiving from the PPMC and within the EGM a listing of one or more progressive pools that are managed by the PPMC and that have been determined within the PPMC to be progressive pools that the predetermined wagering game of the requesting EGM is qualified to or required to participate in; and causing the predetermined wagering game of the EGM to begin participating in at least one of the listed progressive pools.

Abstract: A system and method of shuffling decks of cards is disclosed including verifying that the shuffled deck of cards has the same number of cards as the deck of cards had had when a manual verification process was performed at the initiation of use of the deck of cards. Using the measured weight of the deck of cards after completion of shuffling, the number of cards in the shuffled deck of cards is verified. A cut card may be introduced to reduce the possibility of exposing the hole card to view. Two decks of cards may be used in sequence so that a first deck of cards is being used to play the game of cards while the second deck of cards is being shuffled and verified.

In some embodiments, the gaming machine may include a main door support assembly which includes a stabilizing strut between flat components arranged into parallel planes forming a four-member linkage, and facilitates an upward and outward movement of the main door assembly from a closed position. In some embodiments, the gaming machine may include a topper assembly which is configurable in a hands-free intermediate service position and a final installed position.

The jurisdiction file may be updated during a RAM clear function during installation of the gaming machine.

In order to allow for long durations of service lighting in the compartment, a service backup battery is added to the compartment. A power selecting circuit is employed to automatically select either the service backup battery or the gaming power supply node for supplying power to service lights in the compartment.

Abstract: When awarding of a locally-incremented prize or a jackpot prize takes place in a chance-based gaming system, first there may be joy for the player who won but then there is a sense of lost opportunity for remaining other players as they come to realize at that moment that they have lost the opportunity to win that same prize and instead they must start all over in re-building a comparable prize amount. The notion of having to start from ground zero and build all the way up again may discourage some and induce them to walk away from the gaming machines. Methods are disclosed where the post-award prize reset amounts displayed to the remaining other players are not easily recognizable or attention attracting patterns that may induce the remaining other players to immediately recognize that a reset event has occurred, become disheartened and walk away.

Abstract: A gaming machine is provided having a cabinet with a high definition frontal mechanism for presenting gaming action of that machine and with at least one of left, right, front and rear cabinet sidewall displays (CSDs) for presenting imagery that can enhance the optical experience of patrons in the vicinity of the gaming machine. Each of the cabinet sidewall displays is configured to be non-reflective (glare free) and when not outputting imagery, to appear as blackened or otherwise darkened surface so as to not detract from effects of nearby other displays. One version includes a CSD driven in response to a selected subarea of the high definition frontal display mechanism.
