Abstract: Security measures for an automated gaming system are disclosed. When pre-identified segments of code and/or data are installed into the gaming system, the installation is automatically carried out under control of scripts that cause a corresponding installer to automatically install the identified segments and at the same time automatically generate respective verification records for the installed segments and to automatically send to a secured database, the generated verification records and their respective segment identifications and to cause the database to automatically receive and encrypt the received verification records, to store the encrypted verification records in association with their respective segment identifications and to store in an essentially read-only portion of the database and in association with respective ones of the segment identifications, corresponding decryption keys and/or identifications of decryption procedures that can be used to decrypt the encrypted verification records.

Abstract: An upright gaming machine includes a game determination component that facilitates a wager-based game result, input/output devices coupled to the game determination component, a gaming machine cabinet housing various gaming machine components, and lower and cash access doors located about the gaming machine cabinet. The lower door can be fully removable from the gaming machine, can facilitate access to an internal belly region, and can include a tethered locking arrangement having rotary latches, stationary pins, and a tether. The cash door includes a virtual pivot hinge opening arrangement that moves the cash door in a swivel motion from a closed position to an open position, where the swivel motion of the cash door is about a virtual axis having a center of rotation for which no physical component passes therethrough.

Abstract: Various aspects described or referenced herein are directed to different methods and systems for facilitating secure access to various components of electronic wager-based gaming devices such as video slot machines, video poker machines, and other types of wager-based gaming machines. One aspect disclosed herein is directed to an improved button panel assembly design which enables a button panel to be attached/detached to/from the gaming machine cabinet in a manner which does not require the opening of the main access door, and in a manner which does not require access to the interior of the gaming machine cabinet. Another aspect is directed to an improved button panel security system.

Abstract: Examples disclosed herein relate to a gaming device including a memory, a processor, a plurality of reels, and a display. The processor may initiate base game play comprising the display, via a reel spin, of symbols relative to one or more of a first set of symbol locations. If a near bonus event triggering condition is met, additional symbols are displayed in a second set of symbol locations comprising the first set of symbol locations and one or more expanded symbol locations. If a bonus event triggering outcome is then received relative to the symbols displayed in the second set of symbol locations, a bonus event is initiated comprising free spins of reels to display symbols in the expanded second set of symbol positions.

Abstract: A gaming table includes input sensors which are configured to receive multiple inputs from a player. The sensors are linked to a gaming table controller and are configured to receive different types of inputs from players at different times. One input may comprise a wager input in the form of one or more chips which are associated with the sensor. Another input may comprise a game play input, such as a spin input for a bonus game, received by a player placing their hand proximate to the sensor.

Abstract: A gaming machine includes at least one sound-generating display device. The sound-generating display device is configured to not only display information such as game information, but to generate sound. In one embodiment one or more transducers are mounted to a back or rear portion of a video display and cause one or more portions of the video display, such as a front panel thereof, to move, thus generating sound. The one or more transducers are controlled to generate sound, including to generate sound which has sound which is perceived to emanate from particular areas of the video display.

Abstract: A gaming machine is provided having a cabinet with a high definition frontal mechanism for presenting gaming action of that machine and with at least one of left, right, front and rear cabinet sidewall displays (CSDs) for presenting imagery that can enhance the optical experience of patrons in the vicinity of the gaming machine. Each of the cabinet sidewall displays is configured to be non-reflective (glare free) and when not outputting imagery, to appear as blackened or otherwise darkened surface so as to not detract from effects of nearby other displays. One version includes a CSD driven in response to a selected subarea of the high definition frontal display mechanism.

An electronic video display is mounted to the housing and is located in the display opening of the display frame, the electronic video display having a front screen having a peripheral edge which extends around a display area, a peripheral border extending over the front screen between the peripheral edge thereof and the display area, and an insulating strip positioned between the electronic video display and the display frame at the peripheral edge of the front screen.
