  • Patent number: 9579439
Abstract: A method and a device for determining a recirculation during a dialysis on the basis of the response of the dialysis system to an alteration of a system-related operating value are described. Recirculation may be determined by establishing, at the side of the dialysis liquid, a reference parameter that represents the concentration of uremic toxins from the extracorporeal circulation, and calculating a target parameter for a system-related target operational value from the reference parameter, presetting the system-related target operational value and establishing an actual parameter related to the system-related target operational value, determining an actual comparative value from the actual parameter and the reference parameter related to the system-related target operational value and comparing the actual comparative value with a system-specific target comparative value related to the system-related target operational value, and converting the comparison result into a recirculation degree.

  • Patent number: 9562529
Abstract: Tube roller pumps for blood treatment devices are disclosed. The pumps include a curved surface with a rotor rotatable therein. The rotor attaches via a shaft reception to a drive shaft of the pump. The rotor has a first locking element for axially locking the rotor on the shaft and a second locking element for rotationally coupling the shaft and the rotor. The shaft reception and the drive shaft guide the rotor to a position on the shaft, when pushed onto the shaft, and, at this position, the first element may be moved by the shaft from locked to released. The rotor, when pushed further onto the shaft, is moved to another position at which the first element is automatically moved back to locked and the second element may be brought into manual engagement with the shaft to transmit torque from the shaft to the rotor.

  • Patent number: 9486568
Abstract: The described system and method for blood treatment are configured to detect at least two hemodynamic parameters, for example the blood pressure and the relative blood volume, during the blood treatment. At least two fuzzy modules receive measuring values of the hemodynamic parameters as input variables, wherein the output signals transmitted by the fuzzy modules are weighted by at least one weighting module. A setting means effectuates setting of at least one variable, for example an ultrafiltration rate, a dialysis fluid conductivity or a dialysis fluid temperature, in response to the output signal transmitted by the weighting module. In this way, e.g. threatening intradialytic hypotensive episodes can be detected and avoided. The system can be designed as a dialyzer for hemodialysis, hemofiltration or hemodiafiltration.

  • Patent number: 9423338
Abstract: Methods and apparatus are disclosed for determining a substance in a fluid excreted/extracted from the body or spent dialysate, e.g., for determining a quality measure for the dialysis, such as the concentration of selected toxic substances, and/or for determining a removed total quantity of uremic toxins during a dialysis with a dialysis apparatus. A concentration of a substance in the fluid may be determined by: detecting, by an absorption sensor, a first extinction signal of the fluid at an analysis wavelength at a defined first pH value of the fluid; adjusting, by a pH adjusting device, a second pH value of the fluid which differs from the first pH value; detecting, by the absorption sensor, a second extinction signal of the fluid at the analysis wavelength at the second pH value; and processing/comparing the two extinction signals for the first and the second pH values and determining an absolute concentration of the substance dissolved in the fluid.
